Burrier Service Company

Burrier Service Company

If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. Tom Shannon and his team (Jeff and Mike) did an…read moreexcellent job installing a new Trane central air unit. I'm recovering from surgery and Tom was great about working with family members in my absence. He was kind enough to reschedule the install to a week earlier when he had another customer reschedule. Tom and his team arrived on time, covered my flooring for protection, worked fast and cleaned up afterwards. They were respectful of the property and very friendly, too. Thank you Tom, Jeff and Mike! I highly recommend Burrier Service Company!

What started as a wonderful experience dealing with Burrier has become a source of constant…read morefrustration. They installed a tankless system for us (January 2025), an HVAC heater (September 2025), and a humidifier into the HVAC (October 2025). They quoted me $300 for a valve replacement in writing before changing their mind if they would do the work, referring me to their parent company (Steingass) whose rep Jason came out. I asked Jason for two quotes, one for the one valve and one with an increased the scope, Jason verbally told me he'd quote that but the increased scope would only take a day of work. He then only quoted the increased scope at $3500 for two days of work. I emailed a reply to the quote but it bounced because their quote system doesn't send from an actual email address. Burrier installed the HVAC heating unit back in September but with piping that wasn't properly glued. This caused exhaust leaks into our basement during the winter when it turned on. They sold us a humidifier that doesn't work as promised. Despite multiple trips they initially couldn't find any issue. It was two months later that their installers found mineral buildup that shocked them and said to me that it looked like over a year since the filter was changed. So, we needed the added expense to add a separate water filter line. This was done at an upgraded post install cost. Unfortunately, even with this we still don't get good humidity (19% when set at 50%). Additionally, they scheduled a flush of our tankless system but their first tech who came on site only inspected the humidifier didn't do it. Then, techs came back several times for the humidifier none came with the equipment to flush it. I was told in writing by Tom that Lee would schedule but he didn't. I'm exhausted trying to stay on top of the issues. They don't follow up with me, I have to follow up with them. I have called and left voicemails that haven't been returned by the scheduling department. I have emailed sales. I wish they could have continued to be awesome like they were when we started working with them and hopefully they improve but for now I'm lowering from 5 stars to 2 stars to reflect the new reality of working with them.

In the meantime I did the paperwork and arranged financing through Sal s partnership with Wells Fargo. The duo who did the install called 30 minutes before they came. They were prompt and thorough. They answered all my questions and in three hours had the new furnace finished and the area cleaner than when they arrived! I was extremely pleased and glad I chose them.

My entire family has used Sal's for as long as I can remember so I felt secure in their work. The team arrives and there was no plan in place. There was nothing provided to them through the estimate regarding what was needed. The team member that provided the estimate was no longer with Sal's and could not provide information. The technicians decided that they needed to completely take the furnace out to determine the plan. They then did rush to put it back in so that we were not without heat over a cold weekend which we did appreciate the effort. They said everything should be fine with the furnace itself. During the work, they ended up putting holes in our ceiling. Our estimate clearly states that we are responsible for any concrete damage but there is no mention of ceiling or wall damage. I expressed concern to management who stated that they generally don't repair this put would talk to the install team and call me back. This was almost a week ago. I have talked to a representative since who has continued to say that they will contact me. Radio silence but they have sent the invoice to get me to sign saying all work is done when it is clearly not. Fast forward to 1 day after the work is done. My husband and I smell gas and call the gas company. They say that it is the left burner valve on the furnace that looks like it wasn't put back on right. So we call Sal's, they send someone out and are now saying the valve is bad and probably the flame sensor. These things were not a problem before taking the furnace apart and the technicians did not seem to think they were an issue when they put it back together but now they want me to spend hundreds of dollars more on top of the thousands that I just spent after they come into my home and break the ceiling and now the furnace? This makes me so sad seeing as Sal's is the only company I have ever worked with but unless you want to bleed money, run.

The opportunity to return the items anonymously without repercussion was extended, but my items have not been returned. * * * * * PERSONAL PROPERTY STOLEN * * * * * The work that was completed was done well enough. They even went above and beyond to work with my existing antiquated utilities. The mess left behind was no worse than that of other tradesmen I have hired (dust, greasy fingerprints, bootprints, etc). One of the men took one of my kitchen towels and used it as a rag without asking. It was then left balled up on the floor. I didn't even bother calling to complain about this, but in retrospect...* * * * This may have been a tactic to draw my attention away from the shelf where my personal belongings were stolen from.* * * * If you hire this company, get the full names of ALL of the workers who will be in your home. Google them before letting them in. If your gut tells you not to let them in, do not let them in. Do not take your eyes off them for a second. Do not allow one worker to distract you while the other(s) are unattended. If possible, place cameras, even around items of no/low value, kids' toys, knick-knacks, etc, even if they are too high up to reach normally. If you do not have video cameras, take before pictures of any room they have access to. Do not allow them to remove trash/debris from your home. Insist that they leave any garbage bags behind and check them thoroughly before throwing them away yourself. Take inventory of your belongings immediately. Record and photograph anything odd, even if it isn't something you would usually bother complaining about. If anything has gone missing, NO MATTER HOW LOW IN VALUE, file a police report.
