Don't use this company for a long term move. In great detail they will go over the contract with much reassurance that you will not get hit up later for additional charges, that the actual amount on your contract is what you will owe. It is all a lie. You pay a third of the amount deposit to Hercules upon signing the contract, not even aware that is it not Hercules who is coming to move your belongings. When the actual truck shows up at the door it will be a third party mover who will then upcharge you for every little item (like indoor stairs, etc, etc) and you will be anxiously negotiating with someone who speaks very little english to keep the cost to what your signed contract states. You will lose. You will pay a now increased third of the cost to the mover. Then, when your household items arrive 2 weeks later, a subcontractor to the third party contractor will do the same thing. My $4000 move turned into a $ 5500 move (they argued for $6500), final payment in CASH, and I had to borrow money from my mother to get my stuff! In truth, I could have saved that $1500 first deposit to Hercules and dealt with the actual moving company, if I only had known. Hercules, apparently, was just a broker, did nothing to earn their share except mislead me. It was a lesson hard learned for me. The cheapest is not always the best. I'm so happy that I did because before finding them I would just use some guys on Craigslist. I finally learned my lesson after one of my moves. I had called on Wednesday and booked the move for the coming Saturday (morning move) and was advised to call on the day and confirm the exact time. I did that only to be told that he entered the wrong date and that they now couldn't get to us for another 4 days. Not ideal given that the lease on our apartment ended on Saturday so we had to be out and we have a 2 week old daughter. I hired Hercules Movers to move me from an apartment to a house in November of 2023. The movers completed the job in a timely manner, however when I tried to contact the customer regarding damages that is when the problems started. I filed a claim with the 3rd party vendors responsible for the claims and after months of back and forth, the claim could not be completed because they were unable to get in contact with anyone from Hercules Movers. I then contacted Edward at Hercules Movers and was asked to send all the information that I provided the 3rd party vendor with. I did this at least 4 times and was told "I will get back to you" , no one ever did, so after another 6 months or so of calling and not receiving a response back, I filed a complaint with the BBB and guess what, they didn't respond to the BBB inquiries either. The BBB then said that my best option was to file in small claims court. I have attempted to reach out to Hercules Movers since my last correspondence with the BB, however no one is answering the phone or calling my back. There was no truth in that statement. I packed 90% of my boxes, and ended paying significantly more than the quote which had me doing nothing at all. I moved from clear lake to Houston and they did a very smooth and quick job. Even though they were late!!!!! That's was my only thing that upset me for a minute. For the fact that I knew we were gonna he in traffic but it's wasn't that bad. But I couldn't turn my apartment keys in the day I told them I would. However I did liked how they wrapped all the large furniture and was extra careful but fast. I moved from a two bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house in 2 1/2 hours including drive. Now they didn't take my tv's because they have to be boxed and they charge $25 per tv and prices goes up depending on size. I just put them in my car. This was my second time using Hercules. In the past they were very professional and responsible. This time however I do not know what has happened to their company. First off I was accidentally booked for 2 days. Then I had to clarify with Alex that it was Larry's mistake and I only needed one day. Then Larry told him I was moving the size of an apartment. However I was moving into a three-story three bedroom three bath townhome. They tried to show up at 5:30 PM to begin my move. Everyone refused to answer the phone because they knew we were upset. luckily after 10 different calls the dispatcher was able to get a hold of the movers coming and they were able to get there by 4:30pm. Late but still doable. The movers did a good job and were quick. However they did damage shatter a mirrored desk. This desk cost over $2000. For which I was paid out $90. They also damaged my walls. I made sure they noted it on the bill of landing they disputed the insurance claim and I had to go back and give another copy of the bill of landing with it circled where they had wrote the damage. For the damage to wall I was paid $200. I still have not received this money and I moved the beginning of May. I try to not even file a claim for the wall repair because I still have the original paint. And initially they had stated that they would take care of it and I should speak with him before filing the claim. They emphasize speaking with them before filing the claim however I phoned at least five times and emailed over 10 with no response. Therefore I went ahead and filed the claim anyway. But again $90 for something that cost $2500 is ridiculous. The lack of communication in this company is over the top. They are extremely unprofessional and will straight up ignore your calls. She answered all my questions and put my mind at ease about all of my concerns. Moving Day came--I was scheduled to receive both moving and packing services. The staff arrived on time. Roberto, Joel, and his crew were phenomenal. I'm struggling to remember the last man's name but I want to make sure he gets recognition too because the three of them made a great team. From the beginning the entire process was very smooth. The office staff that I initially set up the move with was helpful and straightforward about what to expect as well as charges anticipated. I moved from San Marcos TX to Houston. They drove to San Marcos to pick up me and my belongings! Christian was the "ringleader" so to speak, and I didn't have to tell him anything twice. Professional movers who stand behind their work: I contracted with Hercules Movers as a repeat customer from April 2018. I found them to be reliable from beginning to end with that move. This move they were unprofessional, slovenly, and now want to go extract additional funds while holding some of my personal belongings. The move was set up by Edward Jordan with an estimate that I paid $50.00 to secure the move date of May 29, 2019. On Tuesday Laura the Move Specialist called to confirm the move. I made a just in case call to Laura because I was getting push back from the apartment management company on move in date. I first spoke to Nora. I was asking Nora if it were possible to reschedule for Friday. She said Friday was not possible and that I needed to cancelled as soon as possible. I asked her if it I could call back before 5:30pm with a go/no go decision. She said okay. In the meantime I was able to get things settled with the apartment complex. While on the phone with the complex, I got a call from Laura. I ended the call with the complex and started the conversation with Laura. She was dismissive and unprofessional in her decision to make light and laugh about the situation. I told her that she was highly unprofessional. I told her that I had worked things out and that the move was a "go" between the hours of 11am and 2pm. The day of the move a young man called to say they're would be at my house in 1 hour from the current time of 1:33pm, probably earlier. When they finally arrived the time was 2:43. He said that he had to go back to the office because he was in a small van. I thought to myself that the paperwork says - 26' truck. They start moving from the 3rd floor via an elevator. I notice that there is not a lot of movement for a crew of 3. So I start to move items down to the first floor. It seemed to me that they were stalling. In one case the young may was sitting on my nightstand outside by elevator looking at his phone. I had to move around, take the stairs to get the crew working, It took nearly two hours to pack a truck for a one bedroom apartment. We started for the new place at 3:00pm. When we arrive the young man says that he needs payment. I gave him the citi credit card. I could hear him calling the number so and the zip code (new). I had not changed address to new one so I moved closer because he was saying that the card was declined. He then called the office (Laura). I gave her the information and the transaction was accepted. Meanwhile items are being taken off of the truck. The young man now says he can't proceed until I let him scratch the card (get the account numbers off the card. I would not allow that kind of activity. Laura asks for the account number. I'm just not comfortable giving that number to the young man. Hercules has cancelled the transaction and now is asking for more storage fees for the remainder of my belongings. On yesterday, I was informed that Hercules cancelled the transaction and moved the remainder of my belongings into their storage. The authorization was that I did not respond to 2 phone calls which registered without caller identification while I was working and also moving. I have a new cellular provider and I forgot that I needed a new voicemail message and set up. However, I do have a good email trail of communication, payment alerts, and information. However, I really liked this dresser as it was a nice set from Star and selected these movers due to all the positive reviews. In order to get it fixed through movers, I would have to pay a $75 deductible. It doesn't seem fair I should have to pay for them damaging my dresser when I already paid $600 for the move. Pay very close attention to your phone briefing before move because everything is recorded and they will not hesitate acknowledging what has been explained to you. ( no trash bags, no milk crates, etc. ) even my ottoman was wrapped up in blankets. In my opinion, OVERKILL. I declined their offer of a $15 discount for giving a Yelp review in person with the movers, and I also declined their survey. Too much pressure for me. Larry, a customer service rep called me immediately after movers departed to address my concerns. I expressed I'd likely never hire Hercules again because of their extensive pricing. On behalf of Hercules he offered me a $50 Visa card. A drop in the bucket in comparison to my cost of $770 to move 1.5 bedrooms. I was quoted $460, high end. The fellow that I communicated with, Darrin, could not have been nicer! I felt confident that we were in good hands, until . . . The day before the moving truck was expected, we received a call from the truck driver, saying that their arrival was delayed, and that they would arrive within a 4-day window, Friday through Monday. We used Hercules Movers a couple months ago for a long distance move. This was my first time using movers and the end result makes me feel like I should just never hire movers again. They packed up our house very quickly. We were told and had in contract that the items would be transferred to another truck and driven to our new home but that it would still be Hercules Movers. It was not. It was another moving company. Our dining room table base was missing and reported. I got a call weeks later that they would be entering another house to look for it and to call back with a description. I called back with the description and haven't heard anything for weeks. Furniture was supposed to be reassembled. They got what they could but lost plenty of hardware, some had to be special ordered through furniture companies. We had an irreplaceable antique with some small glass panes....learned my lesson here - 2 of the panes we're smashed in. So the movers found the furniture with smashed glass, cleaned it up, and dropped it off like nothing was wrong and it wasn't discovered until later as I was not present. When packing was taking place our framed and canvas artwork was being placed in larger boxes. I confirmed with the packer that he was planning on wrapping them individually. He did not. I have stretched out canvases from frames being pressed into them, multiple scuffs on others, scratches and splintering on other frames. They packed loose hardware in the boxes with unwrapped artwork which caused many of the scratches. All were in perfect condition before packing. I didn't think I was going to get away with zero dings on furniture, but we had extra scratches and dings on almost everything. We had a box of items missing as well. Unfortunately we weren't in the position to have everything unpacked for several days and many things weren't discovered until then. I should have hired a separate company to move my antique. Other than that, I did the best I could communicating during the chaos of packing. There were packers all over the house working at the same time very quickly. The company cleared out items out from our old house and ensured the bulk of it arrived soon after, however I would have rather had my things packed properly and delivered later. Like I said I learned my lesson, but I would not hire this company again. I feel if I hire a company to do something then they should do it better than I could and I don't see that as what happened. No one likes the process of moving, it's stressful, time consuming and it takes about a week to get everything back to the way you like it and in its new space. Add to this a really bad breakup and your mind will have you dreading and expecting the worst move life has ever brought upon you. Well, life has a funny way of teaching you to chill out and trust the process because this was by far the easiest and most pleasant move I've ever experienced. I explained the immediacy of my situation to Hercules and instead of charging me extra for the turnaround time, they waved the fee and gave me a REALLY good deal. Second, the movers arrived on time and they were friendly but not creepy. Okay, what really matters here...my stuff - They took really good care of my things, to the point where I actually took notice. They were in and out in literally no time and they moved everything into its new place with a fine tuned precision and efficiency like I've never seen before. I would absolutely not use these guys again. They showed up on time to their credit but immediately started the upsell. . . Oh we have to charge you to build a "CRATE" (it was cardboard boxes wrapped around the item). We have to charge you to wrap this and that. What choice did I have? The 3 guys worked hard but I later found out that one of the guys was on his first job. When they arrived, they said, before we can unpack, we must charge you AND you "forgot" to sign all these forms" I asked how they knew how long it would take and they said "we know but if it takes shorter, we will refund you". The man I spoke with when I arranged the move told me that they charge in 15 minute increments BUT at the end of the move, the lead mover said "NO we charge by the hour increment". so no refund. I later emailed the company and they refunded the difference. On one of the forms, in SMALL print, it said we are not responsible for this and that including "pressed wood". Of course I had an issue with that and when I said I don't agree to it, I was told they would not unpack until I did and they would take my stuff to a warehouse and charge me. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP ! ! Here is the issue. They BROKE my office Credenza. Shattered the top off. I was told by the new guy, he thinks it happened in the truck. This was an $800 piece and I immediately asked to speak to the manager. When I spoke to him on the phone, he said don't worry about it we will of course take care of it. GUESS WHAT - NO THEY DIDNT. After the first review, I was contacted next day by Hercules office. They seemed genuinely concerned, highlighted that the team will be retrained to ensure that they are sending the right message. Obviously the 1 hr folding time isn't part of their standard charge. This hour together with the original vase price will be refunded back (there was no haggle and negotiation to the price like what insurance companies do, which I appreciated). It was explained to me that using extra material for wrapping like cardboard, shrink tape and bubble wrap is a standard charge in Houston. Let me start by saying, Hercules Movers and Packers was FANTASTIC! I did my due diligence and researched multiple companies, got tons of quotes, and landed on Hercules Movers and Packers. I was scheduled to move in on a Saturday, I had scheduled the moving -team for morning, and confirmed a time of 7-9 am. I thought that was great, I could get my furniture moved early and then start the unpacking process. Carlos and his team showed up at 7:30, right on time. However, (my fault) on Saturdays, my apartment didn't open until 10 am. It was a short driving trip (45 minutes max) and my family and the movers made it to the apartments by around 9 am. During this extra hour, Carlos and his team were able to get the truck pulled up to the unloading area, unload the entire truck and prep it in the hallway, even though I didn't have the keys yet. As soon as I got the keys, they moved the entire apartment (bedroom set of furniture, 15-20 boxes) in only 13 minutes. They set it up exactly how I asked and nothing was damaged. I was so impressed and thankful that these guys were patient and used the downtime to make a more efficient move. And now I am in the process of a claim for all the damage that was done to furniture that was passed down from my father. Wow, Tommy and his crew were amazing. They were supposed to arrive between 7 and 9. They arrived at 7:10. Tommy was professional, courteous and prompt. We took care of the paperwork first, and he told us the price up front (and we got a quote on the phone of course). We had already packed about 50 boxes ourselves and they were in storage. The boxes were in varying sizes, but only a few were not like the rest. The movers loaded our house for 1.5 hrs. This includes wrapping furniture, and cleaning out the garage too. Bikes and all. Then they went to storage and spent 30 minutes loading the boxes. They took off for our destination and did not stop for lunch, and just once for gas. They worked like machines! And they got down to business and never ever stood around or even looked like they wanted to slack off. The unloading went well also. They hustled, let me tell ya. They were very careful and respectful of our items. It took them no time at all to unpack, including putting up a bed and unloading tables, chairs, dressers, a whole house! I have NO complaints whatsoever about this company. They did not pack for me, we did all our packing. They did pack a couple of things and they did a wonderful job for us. See the review by my husband brent watts but I'd like to add some details left out. I was told by Camille and Amy on 2 different calls that they would cover the floors but that was not done. When I asked the movers, 2 of the guys said, oh we don't do that. The head mover did quickly throw down moving blankets in the foyer but that was it and no floors were covered in the new house. My husband's reviews mentions how the rep, Laura, talked to me when discussing our broken bed. I have NEVER had a "professional" talk to me with the tone she did as she accused me of trying to take advantage of a small business!! Her tone was the rudest I have ever encountered! They made the mistake of sending 2 trucks and asked why I didn't call to report it right away.... um, because I was knee-deep in a move, oh, maybe because they sent four guys and only two fit in the first truck so I figured the other two guys used it as a mode of transportation from downtown Houston?? It was their mistake & their movers made the choice to load the truck. I never asked them to do that. If they had only used one truck they would have been at our house well into the early hours of the morning so two trucks was the right amount of trucks and their rep actually called me back after quoting to encourage using 4 guys with 1 truck because our move was within a mile. Every conversation after the bed debacle included them telling me how fabulous they were for not charging us for the extra truck. They made the mistake, not my fault, and their guys chose to load the truck. If they had called in the middle of the day and said they had made a mistake, I would have said, fine, come get the truck. no big deal because I was told we wouldn't need it and I was trusting the professionals to give me good advice. Lesson learned! They sing about their $2k coverage but READ THE FINE PRINT!! it covers nothing! And they will request receipts for damaged goods. Alberto, Brendan and Juan were the movers assigned to help me with my move. The process was explained to me prior to them beginning which made me very comfortable. They were all very respectful, professional, and did an amazing job disassembling and reassembling my kid's 3 beds and my king size bed. They have reasonable prices, it was about 2 hours to disassemble/pack and 2 hours 15 minutes to unpack/ reassemble, it was well worth it. I was extremely happy with this move. They took care to wraps all of my furniture to ensure nothing was scratched, dented or torn. I would use them again, in fact they are moving my storage unit to my new home as I type. These are the heaviest and most expensive item I own and I trust them to Hercules! read more

We had used them in the past and they were very good. Unfortunately, that has changed over the past 5 or 6 years. Not the same employees and definitely a much less satisfactory job. We had them store the majority of our things in their warehouse since my employer was moving us around quite frequently over the next five years. When we finally had everything delivered to our final location, we had expected the same quality service. I had noticed quite a few things missing. They had packed everything from our move. I pointed this out to the person leading the moving team. He assured me that everything would be in their packed boxes. We have finally unpacked everything and many valuables are missing along with many collectibles. Things missing like real silver set and various additional pieces, an urn with cremains, collectibles from many trips, tool box with tools, etc. even the feet were missing from our 65" tv. Broken frames on paintings and even framed paintings that were in special storage boxes. The list goes on but you get the idea. They also kept harassing you for a gratuity for the last hour and a half of their unpacking. They "suggest" how much they deserve (something new). It is a shame how much our experience has changed between the two moves. Their contract fine print reads like they have very little accountability for damages or missing items. I have moved about four times and my experience with Hercules was by far the worst I've ever had. The guys that ultimately showed up at my place did do a good job, but Hercules gave me a window from 11am to 1pm and showed up after 5pm. All this time they were telling me they were coming so I had to just sit and wait. At around 4, a truck shows up to tell me they are not the ones moving me and that I had to wait some more for another truck. At least they helped with the packing before leaving. Of course I was charged in full, $620 for a 2 bed apartment. I would not recommend Hercules to anyone. There are a lot of very good movers in Houston. read more

This is the second time I've used them, the first was already amazing but this time they even exceeded the last. I've had David lead each crew that has came out and each time they were so fast and professional. Daniel the owner is always checking in to make sure everything is set to go, Tracey their office manager is at my beck n call when I need anything. I will never use anyone else and I will always request David and his guys! This last move they picked up an antique upright piano along with moving my 3bd house storage unit. Last time we moved our piano we hired an actual "piano moving" company, they were trash, scratched the piano, the door frame and the hardwood floors. Today David and his crew moved the piano with no problem and did it better! I refer these guys to all my family and friends and feel like they are my own personal movers, love them! read more

I understand that Hercules is attempting to deny that they were involved in my move. My things were at their facility and then on the day that I went to pick them up a person from their facility went and obtained a storage unit and moved my things from their facility. They did this without notifying myself or the tx DMV who had arranged for my pickup of my items, as they were never supposed to have my items in the first place. My problem with this facility was the way that they handled everything and would not be straightforward about where my things were and how I could get them. Rather than simply allowing me to pick up my things they secretly moved them to another facility (without informing us) and then left my things at a storage facility without any lock so that anyone could have stolen them. I know that Hercules was involved because my heavily damaged items were spilling out all over the place and apparently Hercules used one of their boxes to put items that were damaged into them. Further, in retaliation to my review the owner of the facility posted a negative review at my place of employment and has texted me threatening messages on my cell phone. My employment has nothing to do with my negative review as I was not in the course and scope of my employment when I wrote this review or when I was moving. They did this as a threat to try to get me to remove my review which shows you exactly what type of business you are dealing with. Very shady. read more

Fantastic job! Christian and his crew were efficient, professional, and friendly. They arrived within the designated window, and got right to work packing and disassembling. Every piece of furniture got covered with moving blankets for protection, and nothing was damaged. And they made sure everything was in the right place in my new apt before they left, and were able to finish with 10 minutes to spare! All in all, the best moving experience of my life. 100% recommend. You may find a cheaper moving company out there, but they will not be a professional and thorough as Hercules! read more
