Not even sure where to start with this company. Called them out in early September for an estimate. Got them out here about a week later. Was told no problem, could put in a driveway for us this year. A week later and still hadn't received our estimate. Called them and apparently they didn't have my email address, which i gave to them twice already. So finally got our estimate after two weeks. Now it's almost October, and after receiving a few more estimates from other companies, decide to go with these guys because they're local, not because they're any cheaper. They weren't. Though their rates were very competitive. Called their office and was told someone would get back with me. Never heard from them. Called again a week later. Now it's early October. The girl says she can't guarantee work would be done this year. I informed her that i was told otherwise and unfortunately if that was the case, i would have to go with another company. After a brief hold, she comes back on the phone, tells me they'll be doing work in my area later this week and that they'll be out then but they'll call me before they come. I was pleasantly surprised that they would get it done so quickly. And very happy. Only they didn't show up and didn't call. So again, i call them. The lady who answers the phones said she would have someone call me. A week later and no call. Now it's mid-October. I call again, same thing. Someone will be calling me. By this time, i felt like they weren't interested in doing the job. So i called and hired another company, who guaranteed me they would get me done this year. Not even an hour later, someone was in my yard locating my utilities. When i asked who sent them, they say Herbig. The company who never called me back. So I'm on the phone again. This time, the receptionist gets someone else on the phone with me who explained to me that I've been on the schedule for weeks. That when i called them the first time and gave them the go ahead, they put me on the schedule. Now they were locating utilities because they were about to get started on the job. This was never explained to me by the receptionist. Though my gut was telling me to just hire the other company, i decided to stick with these guys because they were local. And thought well maybe it was just poor communication. The guy told me that the locates were good for two weeks so they had two weeks to finish the job. Well today is two weeks. And i get a call from the company saying they're going to start prepping my driveway on Friday. Although they could not guarantee it would be finished this year. But no worries, i could still drive on the stone. So apparently when i plow my driveway this winter, i can just start moving all the stone around into my yard. And that's not supposed to be a big deal. They wasn't even concerned about that. What a joke!! I understand that weather is a big factor in determining their schedule. But this company screwed me around from the very beginning. They should've been up front about it. Now I'm stuck with no driveway for the winter and will have to end up hiring the company that i wish i would've hired in the first place. read more
