We hired Ascending Construction for a master bath remodel. The quality of the carpentry part of the…read morejob was well done. Unfortunately we encountered several problems along the way. The estimates we were quoted for both the drywall finishing and plumber were off by half adding around $1000 to the job. About a week after the job was finished, the grout in the til started cracking. He came out to repair it. 3 weeks later, the cracking continues and a tile popped free. We consulted with a tile installer who informed us that the job was completed without an underlayment, so the tile would have to be completely removed and reinstalled, for the cost of $1000. When reached out to the contractor again with no response.

Terrible experience. I hired them to build a fence and had to call them back 3 times to repair it…read morewithin the first month. They stopped answering the phone after the 4th complaint. I'm still paying contractors to fix their mess several years later. Posts were cut off out of square, the gate completely fell off after the first week and then had to be repaired after they came out to "fix" it. The post holes were not backfilled "leaving all the dirt in giant piles all over my yard" leaving over a foot hole around every post and they didn't use correct galvanized or stainless hardware for the outside climate which is now obviously rusted away. The complete project has been a mess I am still paying for. Oh, and an entire panel fell off the fence that I've had to pay to repair because it wasn't built correctly. I wouldn't allow this company to build with Lincoln logs, let alone a structure for my house. I wish I could post pictures to this review. A complete horror show.

My roof was in really bad shape ( especially the roof over an addition that wasn't installed…read moreproperly and included 2 skylights that were leaking) and I contacted 3 roofing contractors to get an estimate. One contractor told me he didn't think his guys were experienced enough to correct the roof problem over the addition and didn't give me an estimate. The 2nd contractor wasn't sure what he would do until his crew took the old roof off and then they would come up with a plan after they saw what they would be working with but he did give me an estimate. The 3rd contractor was S and S Roofing. The owner, Cary Kroll, came out and told me exactly what would have to be done and provided me with an estimate after he explained how the addition roof would have to be rebuilt and 2 new skylights would be installed to fix the leaking. Cary also advised that his crew nails the shingles by hand and that prevents the nails from going thru the shingle which can happen when you use a nail gun. I liked that as that was part of the problem with my old roof as the shingles had started to slide down. The estimate included complete tear-off and clean-up and I considered the estimate to be reasonable for the work that had to be done. The work was done in about 4 1/2 days and the roof looks great. My wife and are checked for any nails that might have been missed during clean-up and found none. We are completely satisfied with the look of the roof and the expert workmanship by Cary and his crew.
