Dr. Lawrence is is kind, easy to talk to, and really understanding. When he brought up my bad habits, he did it in a way that didn't make me feel ashamed. He acknowledged the struggles I was facing, including stress and mental health, and actually took the time to ask about me. He's working alone for this Covid period so he's doing everything himself from answering the door, taking insurance information, seeing patients, sending prescriptions to the pharmacy - incredible! Dr. Herbert is incredibly kind, patient and knowledgeable and I am so glad that I found him many years ago. I've referred several friends to him and they all love him just the same! Sure, his office isn't as nice as some, but the slightly yellowed walls and dingy paint job are completely made up for by Dr. Herbert and his wonderful receptionist/assistant Ronnie. I did not meet Dr. Lawrence Herbert and this review is not about him but about his office and my experience. I attempted to make an appt with Ronny who I found highly aggressive on the phone. She insisted on speaking over me when I asked her if the Dr. was in network with my insurance and she gave me some smart*ss response like "You should know what your benefits cover" when that wasn't at all what I was asking. I just wanted to make sure that my annual physical was done by a doctor in network and she again replied with something like "our other clients with your insurance sometimes have to pay out of pocket" -- again, not what I was asking. I ended the call and had to have my insurance company call her directly and explain to her what I was asking. When I called back to schedule she apologized because she knew she was wrong. The next day I walked into the office and gasped after seeing/smelling it. I could smell cigarette smoke in the corridor and just assumed someone was smoking in the hallway but when I opened the door the smell hit me hard. It was like someone was smoking and/or had been smoking for years. The carpet was filthy and there were suspicious yellow stains dripping from the walls. I honestly had no interest in meeting an educated medical professional who could conduct business in such an environment and decided to walk out. read more

Dr. Herbert is a wonderful and gifted physician. He not only is a surgeon, but also, he can treat minor dermatology problems and other internal symptoms. He is very personable, and it's easy to get an appointment with him. I visit him every six months or so, just for a routine check up, and he is quite thorough. His rates are reasonable and his office staff is delightful. I recommend him very highly. read more

Let me make it simple. I gave Doctor Herbert 5 Stars because in my opinion he saved my husbands life. While in the office for a routine visit I asked the Doctor to take a look at a lump on my husbands throat ,which was previously diagnosed as "nothing to worry about"by a physician in Florida. After a short examination Dr Herbert sent my husband directly to an ENT. Subsequently He was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. Treatment immediately followed. If not for Dr. Herbert examining an unscheduled patient and his quick and decisive action,who knows where the cancer could have spread to. His office may be outdated but he is everything you could ask for in a doctor. read more

The best doctor I've had for many years. Any time I think I might have to switch for a specialty doctor, I end up right back in Dr. Herbert's office. He cares, he's reliable, he documents everything that I report and what his diagnosis is. If he thinks he needs another diagnosis, the dr. will suggest that. He listens to everything and tells you specifically what to do. Dr. Herbert is the best dr. I've ever had. Although he jumps from one patient to another, nothing is neglected. First off, I've never posted a review on anybody or anything, good or bad. I'll be frank, Dr. Herbert is the man! He is very personable, his exams are thorough, and he gets down to business quickly. His receptionist is an absolute sweet heart and genuinely tries to work with you to fit a busy schedule. I'm currently working through a disagreement with my insurance company and the doctor is 100% on my side and is willing to do what he can to achieve the best possible outcome for me. Beyond being a good person, Dr. Herb is rather tech savvy and was an early adopter of ZocDoc. Don't put to much stock in the appearance of his office. When it comes down to it, I'd much rather deal with a great doctor than a crap doc in a chic office. read more

I looked at his credentials but I was skeptical at first going to a new doctor, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. As with the other reviews, I found Dr. Hebert extremely kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Since my first appointment, I have been gone back and I have continued to go back for years, even though I moved further North, to another city. I have to echo, he is awesome, he is patient and he spends time with his patients. I was never rushed or felt that my concerns were not addressed. What is missing in this field are doctors, like him, that take the time to slowly explain what is going on with you. Dr, Hebert is always in a good mood, if something was troubling him, you would not know. He kept that separate from his profession! Unfortunately, heath insurance is making harder and harder for doctors to get reimbursed for their hard work that they perform.
