If you want a lecture from an extremely rude owner this is your place! Haven't been here in about 10 yrs because of past bad experience. Called today to see if they had live bait shrimp because Hadrell's (A REAL bait shop!) was out. Instead of saying yes or no I got a lecture that bait shrimp only live for 3 hours and if I was any kind of fisherman I'd know that. Funny the ones in my live well have been happy for at least 7hrs. How do these people stay in business???? Would give ZERO stars if I could. BTW not a yankee transplant. read more

I've been going to Henry's upon a recommendation from a friend who grew up here. I love the old couple that runs the store... If you have extra time, the history behind the store in relation to their son, and all of the pictures hanging up is a good one. I've only utilized them for fishing gear and bait. They are super sweet to my kids and will even put pictures up in the store. If you bring them in of your kids with their catch on the bait/rigs you got from them! Super friendly and helpful and always have good fishing advice. Most of their items are a little more expensive than Walmart or West Marine, but probably on par with Haddrell's. In my opinion, well, worth supporting them! read more

I still have the oil I bought for a rifle standing on my counter because I will not go back to this place! The lady tries to play nice and then turns into a mean business owner just like the man that always sits on the chair and tries to run everyone out the store. Wouldn't even sell my daughter crickets. Had a wonderful experience at Henry's! My daughter (9y/o) and I went in with no experience saltwater fishing whatsoever. The older lady and the grandson understood what we needed and explained to us on what we needed and why. We went out to one of the spots they had recommended and casted where they told us and my daughter caught her first ever trout. Really felt like they treated us a family, will be going back soon. read more

I went in looking for a locking pistol case for TSA. While I was in I asked if they had any target 9mm. The lady behind the counter grabbed a plastic bag stapled shut with Blazer FMJ. She "said this ain't target it's the real deal" when she handed it over. Then she told me it was $69. First off it was target ammunition and prices like that is profiteering. read more

I pulled up at 7:40AM this morning to wait for them to open at 8AM to buy some fiddler crabs for bait. They were advertised on the letter board out front. I backed into a parking place facing the building. Sat there waiting. Owners pulled up in a black Cadillac. Elderly gentleman got out of passenger side and looked right at me - 25 ft away. I nodded to say "hello." He reached back in the Cadillac to get his cane. Then he pulled his shirt up and tucked it behind the revolver he had holstered on his belt. Stared me down the whole time. The elderly lady invited me into the store and he then yelled at me to get out until the store opened. The lady agreed to help me but he made me finish the transaction outside. I'd always heard he was rude, but didn't expect to be threatened for buying bait at a BAIT SHOP. So anyway, you're on your own if you need anything from this place. I won't be going back. read more

Stay away. They are Criminals!!! I wish I had read these reviews before I was ripped off by them. Dropped off boat and trailer to have them check trailer for any needed repairs and possible maintenance for engine. One week later they tell me my boat is ready and I owe them over $2k. They changed my spark plugs, replaced lights, and tires on trailer, and now light. Complete rip off. They never called me to discuss anything prior to working on my boat. My lights still do not work. I hope this place goes out of business soon. Do not make the same mistake I did. read more

I have used Henry's for everything from boat trailer repair, to work related trailer repair. To fishing supplies. They have always been very helpful and honest with me about what I need and don't need. They are a family run business that has been around for many years. I would assume they have stayed in business because they offer quality work at reasonable prices and have a great reputation with the locals. I took my trailer to Firestone to have the tires balanced and they told me I need a $450 wheel bearing replacement. I took it to Henry's for a second opinion.. They looked at it and said there's nothing wrong with your wheel bearings they just need to be greased.. I am thankful there are still some honest people left in the world.. I would highly recommend Henry's sports and trailer repair to everyone. I know if I want something done right Henry's is where I am going to go.! read more

This store has been a part of the Mount Pleasant business community for a long time. It is locally owned and operated. This is a good thing is my opinion because this is the age of Big box stores and internet services. I have to give the staff a four out of five stars for being friendly, and wanting to provide service. However, I have a few items that I have to point out about Henry's. Most of the items that I have to point out are beyond the owners' control. Location, If anybody has ever experienced traffic during rush hour in Mount Pleasant, you'll know what it is like getting into and out off their small parking lot. The available of stock concerning firearm selection, ammunition selection, and firearm accessories. Stocking of these items are low. The pandemic, panic buying, and hoarding of items has greatly affected a "gun stores" of any size, nationally. I understand that small sized merchants can compete with larger retailers on a one to one basis on the pricing of items. Obviously, items are going to be a " little more" and I mean just a " little more" than items for sale in the big box stores for sporting goods. I feel that this store has let me down on the pricing of ammunition at this point in time compared to other stores in the local area, both small time and big box stores. I feel that their prices on common calibers are on the verge of price gouging. Now, that being said, chances are if you a certain cartridge caliber, they will have it. So check your checking or savings account balance before you purchase ammo here. read more

Henry's on 17 WTF!!! I just picked up my boat /trailer that was supposed to have the bearings packed on my single axle trailer and replace One Break Light. I had this done this last year for $165.00. So today I go in and guess what it was $465 dollars and I'm not sure if they even packed the bearings? I asked them 3 times where did you get these figures and they couldn't answer me accept say "the labor" (for what greasing my hubs and adding a light) ? I will never take any boat or trailer to them ever again..... read more
