3 Stars. Decent donut place. It has been getting a little pricey since the COVID shutdowns. The ham and cheese croissant is good sized and nice, but I don't know if it is worth over six dollars. I went in for a plain muffin today. $3.50 for the muffin. This is basically a grab and go, takeout place. Very limited seating, but ample parking as this is located in a small strip mall on the corner of Lake Forest Drive and Muirlands. Strip mall contains a Jack In the Box (not recommended), a 99 Cents store, a closed down MiMis Cafe and a few other stores (including Advance Auto Parts). If the line is long and you are in a hurry, there is another coffee shop called The Java Bakery Cafe at the far end of the parking lot (overlooking the intersection of Muirlands and Lake Forest Drive), as well as a bakery called Brio Brio (across from the Advance Auto Store, next to an eyeglass place). I am not a fan of Brio Brio. It has rather unusual menu items, but some people I know like it.

I had breakfast at Henry's Donuts 22641 Lake Forest Dr. in Lake Forest. Even thought it was raining most of the day the place was nice and clean. The cashier was nice and friendly. For my Appetizer: I had; Ham & Cheese Croissant; It was cooked fresh that day. It was hot, juicy and flavorful! I drank a large hot cup of coffee that was freshly brewed. Delish! My Entrée was; Chicken Tamales; They had just been freshly steamed; They were Tender, fresh and tasty! For dessert: Heart Shaped Donuts; One had pink frosting and the other one was white with sprinkles. Soft and savory! Then I took an outside photo and drove off for my next review. Robert H.

Standard neighborhood donut shop. Seems like it is owner operated and friendly. Donuts are OK.

1,000x better than any chain donut shop. The taste is that classic, mom and pop donut shop taste. The staff are really nice too.

From South San Diego and we googled breakfast spots…read more.. Checked a few and decided on Forest Cafe for having great pictures and grwat reviews.. This place didnt disapoint. waffle tasted great. Not overcooked. Strawberries and Blueberries tasted fresh. Carne Asada Quesadill had great flavors. Cilantro and sour cream tasted good. Meat was good just hoe i asked it for. Great flavor over all. Green salsa on the side was spicy. Just the perfect amount of kick on the salsa. Definitely recommend this place. And Definitely will be coming back...

We originally found it through Yelp and saw people raving about the homemade food and it absolutely lived up to the reviews. I ordered the Denver omelet and it was excellent. The eggs were perfectly airy and creamy without being runny. The flavor was simple but spot on and the avocado paired really well with it. Nothing felt off or overdone. We also tried a few other dishes at the table. The chilaquiles were fantastic. The tortilla chips had a great crunch and were not soggy at all. Even though they looked heavily sauced in pictures the ratio was actually perfect. Enough salsa for flavor while still keeping the chips crispy. The salsa itself was very good and the egg on top was perfectly runny and yolky which was a big plus. The version with added cheese was also great. Service really stood out. One of our friends asked for no cheese on their chilaquiles and it accidentally came out with cheese. The staff handled it so kindly. They took it back immediately and as an apology one of the owners or cooks came out personally and brought us complimentary pancakes. That small gesture really showed how much they care. The owners were incredibly sweet and kept checking in asking if everything was good and sharing how much care and time they put into making everything homemade. You could genuinely feel that passion. Huge props to Forest Cafe. I would absolutely recommend it. A great little brunch and breakfast spot and definitely a place we will be coming back to.

With this commie inflation caused by the over spending politicians who could care less if they spend your grandkids money, it's great to see a small business like this make it through these difficult times. What really got me is after I paid the owner wrapped up an apple fritter and put it on top of the box and said "this one's for the teacher." I thought that was so special. What a great way to show your customers that you care. I highly recommend this establishment.

My big complaint today tho - I got a ham and cheese croissant and it tasted old. Like the smell of the store got soaked up into it *gag*. I was wondering why when I asked for a ham and cheese croissant, it was already in a bag in the case, ready to go. Probably got bagged at end of day yesterday and they were trying to get rid of it today before all of the other freshly made ones. If the owner see this, please don't serve old pastries. It doesn't taste good. Or at least label them as old and price at a lower price than the $6.00 that they are. On top of that, the dude behind the counter wasn't the friendliest with customer service. I don't know if he was trying to avoid using a box, but if I order a bunch of pastries, instead of bagging each and every one and handing them to me in a big pile, he could have just put them in a box. Which I ended up asking for, and he then did, begrudgingly. Based on my experience today, I would go for the donuts that are freshly made every morning, but I would be wary of getting any pastries that have already been placed in a bag in the case.

The Beck breakfast burrito taste great and was made right in front of me. What I liked most about it aside from the perfectly cooked eggs and flavor was the size. I don't need a breakfast burrito the size of my forearm. This was the correct portion. The only thing they could improve is to make a fresh salsa. I believe the one they use is Pace. Better than nothing I suppose. You could tell by the conversations at the counter that many of the customers are local and probably visit almost every day for their coffee and something to eat.

So we got two of those with avocado and we also got a green chili and chicken tamale. The breakfast burrito was like a nine out of 10 breakfast burrito. Delicious and simple. Their hot salsa is really good tasting and not overly spicy but has a light kick. The real highlight was the tamale. The flavor on it was amazing and I can't imagine what the rest of the tamales taste like with this one being so good. We will definitely be coming back and we recommend this place to others. Thank you to the staff for the amazing service and the kindness on an early Saturday morning.

We walked in to friendly and helpful staff, very attentive even with there being a lot of people picking up food to go and ordering. The burritos are big and very tasteful. Almost every bite had a price of bacon or steak. And the hot salsa they make is amazing. The donuts are also tasty, they have tables inside with a TV to enjoy your food there and they were very clean. We'll for sure be back soon!

I wouldn't call the breakfast burrito amazing but I would say it's a very big and well executed breakfast burrito. I have only gotten the bacon. It's not overcooked and there's a generous amount of ingredients. It's simply too big for a normal person in my opinion. So, order and don't be afraid to share. I've only gotten halfway through it so far each time. They have three sauces and they are pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but they add some good additional flavor. I normally get the medium and hot, which is a green and a red. Incidentally, I haven't tried a donut here or any other items. I think the reviews for the burrito is fair being that some people base the amount of food on their review. It was cooked well, which is a plus because a lot of places overcook the eggs. This was not the case here!
