I've been a loyal customer for many years and it pains me to leave a less than 5-star review. The donuts are reliably good and the staff is very friendly. I chose to review this as 3 stars because I feel like my loyalty was discarded when they switched the loyalty program. Now they only reward points for coffee purchases. I have spent hundreds of dollars here every year for many years and all those points are gone now. This is not how you reward customers who have supported your business. Don't yell at my children. The short Latin lady yelled at my 4 year old daughter this morning because she could not pick out the donut my daughter was pointing out. I mentioned the unpleasant interaction to the manager and his justification was that she did not know English. 3 Stars. Decent donut place. It has been getting a little pricey since the COVID shutdowns. The ham and cheese croissant is good sized and nice, but I don't know if it is worth over six dollars. I went in for a plain muffin today. $3.50 for the muffin. This is basically a grab and go, takeout place. Very limited seating, but ample parking as this is located in a small strip mall on the corner of Lake Forest Drive and Muirlands. Strip mall contains a Jack In the Box (not recommended), a 99 Cents store, a closed down MiMis Cafe and a few other stores (including Advance Auto Parts). If the line is long and you are in a hurry, there is another coffee shop called The Java Bakery Cafe at the far end of the parking lot (overlooking the intersection of Muirlands and Lake Forest Drive), as well as a bakery called Brio Brio (across from the Advance Auto Store, next to an eyeglass place). I am not a fan of Brio Brio. It has rather unusual menu items, but some people I know like it. read more

For my Appetizer: I had; Ham & Cheese Croissant; It was cooked fresh that day. It was hot, juicy and flavorful! I drank a large hot cup of coffee that was freshly brewed. Delish! My Entrée was; Chicken Tamales; They had just been freshly steamed; They were Tender, fresh and tasty! And he took the time to let my waffling 2 year old pick her donut...But why a 5 star review? THE TAMALES! Look, if you're going here for anything other than tamales you're doing it wrong. I had the pork and the jalapeño cheese. Rarely if ever do I get a tamale with such a great ratio of filling. But these are heavy on flavor, and heavy on filling. The pork has just right amount of smoky guajillo chile, and the jalapeño cheese was the perfect balance between rich creamy cheese, and spicy chile. And I also bought a champurado (hot chocolate). The champurado was very good. This location look very clean which I really like. They have decent quality croissants. Their so called "cronut" is a big fail. What they believe is a cronut is actually a small croissant that is glazed or sugar coated. The one served to me was not even fresh even though I was there early morning. It tasted like a glazed 2-day old croissant. read more
