Both were exceptional DJ's. DJ Mike Pitti managed to time all music perfectly in the ceremony, with little direction. DJ Mike Ellis, was wonderful to work with, as prior to our event he made every effort to make sure he had every detail to make sure our reception went flawlessly. While it didn't go as flawless as we'd hope (not because of the DJ), DJ Mike was able to roll with the punches and make our guests feel as though everything was going exactly to plan. He knew all the music we wanted, and really knew how to keep the audience enjoying themselves with each song. We loved that he completely got the atmosphere we wanted and nailed it. In addition to the events of the day, I'd like to add that they have a great program to organize all your requests and timeline; it really makes preparing for the day as easy as it can be. I got married two years ago and chose Magic Mike as my DJ. I didn't see the point of experimenting with new DJs- there's a reason he's been in the industry for so long: 1. He is able to feel the pulse of the crowd 2. He is extremely genuine and warm So many people asked for his number after the wedding. I'd be shocked if he's not booked till 2020!

As Mike has been in the business for 20 years and the glowing reviews on Yelp, WeddingWire, and the Knot, I made the mistake of booking him. Mike loves to march to his own beat and is extremely disorganized, ill-prepared, lazy, inattentive to details, unprofessional, outdated, lackadaisical, and quite frankly a bozo. While I was impressed by all of the vendors at my wedding, I was seething and cringing by Mike's countless mistakes. As other Yelpers have noted, Mike is highly skilled at mixing beats for Hindu/American fusion weddings and getting everyone to hit the dance floor. However, Mike caters to the crowd rather than to the bride and groom. There's "no magic", here are Mike's top 8 blunders which I confronted him at the end of my wedding night: #1: Using an old schedule that was 2 months old! After 3 phone calls with Mike and sending him a few revised schedules based on feedback that he provided, he used the 1st schedule that I sent him with wrong bridal party names, songs, and times! He neglected all of the changes that we discussed on the phone and failed to use the new schedule that I sent a week before the wedding like he requested. When 5 names are mentioned, but only 2 women and a man walk out to "Sister Sledge" playing, that's a blunder! #2: Missing Cues/Repeated stepping of glasses. My fiancee and I are highly private people and don't enjoy long kissing sessions in front of our parents and friends. We actually took out all kissing pics from our slideshow. During the reception, after a big frown and shaking of the head after the 1st stemming of glasses, Mike initiated and continued to round up the crowd for additional stemming of glasses. It got so bad that some of the bridal party members broke some of the glasses in retailation. The stemming of the glasses is a topic that I also wish Mike discussed with us before the wedding so we could have easily prevented this embarrassing mishap. #3 Announcing the grooms name first and then the bride's name. A big no-no! "Peter and Aarti Pruitt". Mike believes in men first, even at weddings. #4 Playing songs on the "Do NOT play list". I hate "Gangnam Style" with a passion and it was among the 20 don't play list. Not only did Mike happily play the song, but he refused to change the song when I asked him to! That wasn't the only one... #5 Begging for a Big Tip. Mike isn't shy about charging top dollar $3K and the audacity to ask my father for a big tip before the event! The bozo loves to overpromise and underdeliver. My dad was way too nice to tip him $200. As a firm believer of tips, I honestly would NOT tip him. #6: Trying to Upsell at the WRONG time. Mike and I had a couple of minutes before the reception started. Rather than using this crucial time to discuss making any last-minute changes to the schedule (ex. moving things up as we wanted to skip sunset pics due to the weather), instead Mike kept trying to repeatedly sell us on the dhol guy. I hate BHANGRA, why would I pay extra for it? #7 Forgetting to play the cake cutting song. I was looking forward to hearing my favorite Baby Love during the cake cutting, too bad I never got the chance to hear it! #8 Not taking full ownership. After confronting Mike about all of the blunders listed above, he kept deflecting and making excuses. Despite repeated emails and phone calls before the wedding, Mike was very ill-prepared and was "winging" it at the wedding with sheepish grins. While I appreciate Mike's apology for his mistakes in a follow-up email that he sent, he doesn't take away from the painful memories that I experienced due to his careless mistakes. He single-handedly ruined the reception. Not once did Mike make it about the bride and the groom, it was more of Mike's day and pleasing the crowd. If you want to make your day special, I recommend tuning him out and enjoying the beat of someone else.

You could listen to voice samples to get an idea of how your wedding day intros and announcements would sound. We chose Ryan Karolyi and could not have been more happy with our decision. Silver Sound is extremely detail oriented, with their wedding timeline, and music playlist. The music playlist gives you the ability to add as many, or as few songs as you'd like. You can mark songs as "must play" or just give your DJ a sense of the musical direction you want your event to take. I highly recommend utilizing the wedding timeline for as many details as possible, it was extremely useful! Ryan was an excellent DJ for our event and I would highly recommend him and Silver Sound to anyone who reads this, or anyone who asks me. Having booked our wedding at Downingtown Country Club and utilizing Silver Sound off their preferred vendors list, we had uplighting included in our package. What a difference it makes. It really elevated the room and made the reception even greater with their "sound activated" uplighting feature. I can not say enough great things about how much we loved Silver Sound! I also have to give credit to Albert, who operated the Photo Booth! Albert reached out during the week prior to our wedding and opened the line of communication. There were a couple logistical things that we were able to work out ahead of time so they did not become day-of problems, Albert did a fantastic job and our Photo Booth pictures all came out great! We also got a Photo Booth album of all the pictures pour guests took - I had no idea this was going to be included so it was a great surprise and something we will be able to look back on and cherish the funny moments our guests captured! From the initial consultation call, we knew the DJ part would be HANDLED. Johnny immediately let us know he would be guiding us through the whole day and it put my mind at ease knowing he would be there to make sure everything went smoothly day of. He explained the process of putting together our playlists and organizing everything through the customer portal. Because of this, our planning call was sooo easy! We went through the timeline for the wedding day, discussed the special dedications, and what was expected with our officiant and other vendors. Day of was a whirlwind, as to be expected. Johnny V was all set up and ready to go, and I literally just had to show up. My groom and officiant were all miked up and Johnny had introduced himself to everyone and set the expectations of what would happen from the second I walked down the aisle to the last moment we packed up.
