Their attitudes in general are very friendly and helpful, as is that of the owner (it's a woman-owned store!). Therapy doesn't close until 7:30 pm, which gives you plenty of time to run in for a birthday card and gift after you leave work and are on your way to a friend's birthday party! A careful walk through the store reminded me of the legendary Wilkes Bashford on Sutter Street, back in the 1980s. Like the original Wilkes, Button Down offers beautiful Italian and European styles, along with famous brands and their own private label. They also carry luxurious accessories for men and women. Greg, who had also worked at Wilkes in its heyday, helped me put together an entire ensemble. It was like a trip back in time, with the same quality, personal attention and service that is nearly impossible to find anymore. Button Down is located on Sacramento Street in Presidio Heights, and it is well worth the visit.
