Swati is an amazing henna artist! She is very talented and experienced! She did henna for about 12 ladies at my brother's ladies sangeet. We were all very happy with her work. She is very fast and detailed. I was impressed with her beautiful designs. She can pretty much cater to any design if you show her a picture. Swati is also very kind and friendly. I really enjoyed getting to know her. I highly recommend Swati for henna on any occasion.
Swati was amazing! She was available last minute to do mehendi for Karwachaut. I showed her a sample design and she replicated that beautifully and added her own touches to it. She also finished both hands front and back in an hour. Highly recommend!
Hired Swathi for my Mehendi. She is a true professional. She has a good pace and was very patient throughout the event. All the guests loved her work. I wanted something very simple and clean, she was able to recreate what I envisioned.
Swati is wonderful! I got married on 12/05/2015 and--having a traditional Punjabi wedding--needed a mehendi artist. After thorough research of mehendi artists in the south bay and east bay, Henna Traditions seemed like my best bet based on budget and previous Yelp reviews. I first contacted Swati by calling and she was so incredibly sweet and patient, especially compared to some other terrible phone calls I'd had (one lady told me to call back the week of the wedding to see if she was available, and another was so rude and hasty, I could only imagine what her work ethic and in-person personality would be like). We set the date and time, I mailed a small deposit, and Swati was flexible all the way through whether it was regarding timing or picture ideas I had. She was also very easy to contact and communicate with and--while applying my mehendi for several hours--maintained just the right amount of conversation so that it wasn't awkwardly quiet but also so that I was able to laugh and have fun conversing with my friends, family, and guests. The mehendi turned out dark and beautiful and I received endless compliments. We finally received our professional photos and I'm in love with the mehendi all over again! Swati is truly a very sweet and talented artist and helped make my wedding experience unforgettable.
This review is long overdue. Swati is absolutely amazing! I called her a few days before my engagement ceremony and asked if she could do my mehendi the night before the ceremony. She made time on a Saturday night and worked on both sides of both hands for a few hours. She even gave me a lemon and sugar mixture to put onto my hands once I had gotten back home. She told me how long to leave it on depending on how dark it needs to be. It lasted over a week and I got so many compliments on the design! I definitely recommend her.
I got Mehendi for my wedding reception from Swathi. She is very detailed and systematic. The henna on my hands looked beautiful and she had very reasonable pricing as well. Thanks Swathi for the beautiful work!
I hired Swati for the day of my Mehendi party back in May. I would absolutely recommend her! She arrived on time, had ample supplies and was very professional and fun to talk to. Swati was so patient, kind and everyone was very pleased and impressed with their henna designs. She is a wonderful artist. I had asked her to include a few custom motifs in my bridal henna and Swati absolutely delivered! As you'll see in this pic, she incorporated skylines and even our school logos so beautifully. I am still in awe of her talent! Thank you so much Swati. I am lucky to have been able to work with you and I can't wait to work with you again in the future!
Swati is an incredibly talented henna artist! She did my bridal mehndi as well as mehndi for some of my family and friends. She is creative, precise and very efficient! I highly, highly recommend her for any henna needs, and will be coming back to her when anyone else in my family gets married.
A pretty good experience. I wanted Mehendi for my first anniversary and found this place on Yelp. Called up and Swati was ready to take me in on short notice (same day!). I went to her place to get the mehendi done. Swati had everything ready, i was able to share my pinterest ideas with her and she so quickly and aptly picked up on the design that I really wanted! She did a great job with the design, i loved the outcome. Was very detailed. She even put the nimbupani once done and waited till it dried a bit. Best part was mehendi came out really dark after 2 days and kept getting darker. I think it turned out darker than my bridal one! She uses authentic henna from India. The design retained longer than I thought and was a good 10 days before it started coming off. Definitely recommend her!
Swati is one of the most organized and prepared people I've met. She was extremely punctual and accommodating, and a very nice person to talk to. She did my bridal mehendi and the color came out beautiful. I got tons of compliments and being someone who has put a lot of mehendi all through her life, I can say that she does very intricate and detailed patterns with a lot of ease and patience. I've never seen such a fine application of henna even back in India. It was really beautiful and swati made the whole process very easy. She gave proper instructions for care, and even got mustard oil for me to keep given I was staying at a hotel and would not have access to such items in that environment. Thank you so much Swati!
Swati was absolutely wonderful! Her designs were beautiful and she added glitter which was an amazing touch. She was very professional, kind, and worked quickly. She also provided full after-care instructions, and took a genuine interest in having the henna last. Thanks for the beautiful wedding mehendi!
She did a great job doing everyone's henna for the lady's sangeet that was hosted by the bride!
Swati was amazing. I asked her to come do Henna for my bridal shower. And everyone loved her and her amazing designs. I had about 20 people and she was really quick. And she stayed later to do something special for me. The henna stayed on for almost a month. And she used glitter on some of the designs. She was also able to do any design we showed her. This was the most amazing henna experience I had and I would use her again and recommend her to everyone.

Swati had done my cousin's bridal mehendi in April 2019. When I saw it, I knew I HAD to have Swati do mine when I got married. Fast forward a few years - my wedding happened in April 2023. I held my mehendi party 3 days before my wedding ceremony. I was SHOCKED at how dark it came out by the time of my wedding! Swati is very professional and punctual. On the day of the mehendi party, she came, quickly set up, and got to work. My mehendi took around 7-8 hours to get done (hands up to the elbows, and feet up to a bit below the knee), and Swati did not complain once during that time. I was so impressed at how focused she was during the time. She is also very sweet and kind, and we had pleasant conversation while I was getting it done. I had asked her for peacocks at the top of my design, a paw print with my dog's name, told her I liked reverse negatives and a symmetrical design, but other than that I let her do whatever she wanted. I HIGHLY recommend it, she is a true artist and came up with the most beautiful and intricate designs. It was stunning. By the time of my wedding, it was EXTREMELY dark. I got so many comments (especially from the in-law's side of the family) that it was the darkest they had ever seen. I took extra care though to do the post-mehendi care and maintenance that Swati had recommended - it's well worth it (warming your hands on both sides over the stove, Vasoline and coconut oil, avoiding water, keeping it on overnight, etc). She had also applied a lemon mixture during the day of my mehendi to make it dark. It also lasted so long, it took almost a month for all of it to come off, and was still extremely visible 2 weeks after (especially the feet/legs) I cannot recommend Swati enough, she is amazing! read more

Swati is beyond. Beyond bomb! My niece arranged for her to do bridal henna plus henna for a group of women. She was on time, prepared with her kit of artistry, and the experience and professionalism just literally oozes off her. I learned that she honed her craft in Bombay (I can't bring myself to say Mumbai :-) ... and has well over a decade of experience. It shows because she absolutely knows what she's doing. Her demeanor and presence is not only confidence inspiring, she is a human well worth entrusting whatever body part you're giving yourself over for the henna package lol :) I had never ever in my 61 years, ever had henna done and was stoked, besides myself and excited to supernaturally epic proportions to get it done! I barely could sleep the night before and had no idea what it would be like. What I especially appreciate about Swati is her focus and of course, steady hand! She's not distracted nor casual about her process, she's conscientious and pays such close attention to detail ... she took the time to ask questions about what I wanted, and because it was my first time (henna virgin is how I referred to myself :-), I didn't have a lot of requirements, just a few. and during the process, she inquired several times to make sure I was gonna be happy. She also reviewed instructions plus a stack of her cards, on the back, gives clear directions for henna aftercare, which I followed to a T, and boils--below are photos immediately after the henna application, and also 18 hours (overnight) later! If henna is what you're looking for, Swati's your go-to :-)! Did I mention she comes to where you are?! I. Mean. Whatever could a girl ask for :-)?! read more

Swati is wonderful. She did my bridal mehendi for me, and you can see how beautifully it came out in the photos! I showed her images of symbols that I wanted, and she did an amazing job helping me with our multicultural marriage. (You can see in the photos the Chinese double happiness on one side and a Ganesh on the other). She gave detailed instructions on aftercare and was overall just a great person to work with. Swati also provided her services for my wedding reception in SF. She was highly professional, coming in ahead of time to set up and also working so efficiently without sacrificing quality of work. All my guests were so impressed by her and were so happy with their mehendi as well! She also brings aftercare instructions for your guests as well. Her prices are very fair and reasonable, especially for the quality of service, professionalism, and kindness she provides. I would highly recommend Swati for any mehendi needs! read more

Swati is an awesome artist. She did my bridal henna this past week and the color was amazing. I followed her care instructions, so it kept getting darker. She was very easy to communicate with and she brought all my thoughts together very well into a wonderful work of art. She also did henna for 10-12 ladies after my henna and did them very well- everybody at our henna party was very impressed! If you're looking for an artist, your search can stop right here. read more

Swati had done my wedding henna a couple weeks back. I was so happy with the results, she was very accommodating and easy to work with. Prior to my wedding she had done a trial henna design on my hand and I was impressed by how fast she did the design and how dark my henna turned out. Fast forward to my wedding, I wanted a last minute change to the design on the back part of my hand and instead of being irritated, Swati was able to do my henna just as I wanted. She applied her lemon mix throughout the application of my henna and gave me several tips to ensure my henna lasted as dark as possible for my wedding. I was very happy to work with Swati and would definitely recommend her to others! read more

My bridal henna turned out so dark and beautiful! I've never seen my henna turn so dark before! Swati is so professional, she made sure her designs were perfect. This is the first time I've ever tried hiring a professional henna artist in the US and it was for my baby shower. I got bridal mehendi done for myself and had a small mehendi event at the party for the ladies to have some fun with some hand tattoos. Put simply, I had a much pleasant and worthwhile experience with her service than I had at my wedding in India! Her mastery and finesse over the designs is impeccable. So quick and yet maintaining the symmetry of such intricate designs was impressive. The best part is the color that came out. The color just kept growing darker by the day and they looked perfectly done for the event. My friends and kids were excited to get mehendi done with her as well. She's very friendly, informal and easy to work with. I'd definitely recommend her for any occasion if henna is something you enjoy getting done. read more

Swati recently provided henna for three different parts of my wedding festivities and me and I my family could not have been more pleased with the results. My bridal design was absolutely gorgeous and even though it took longer than predicted due to my height, Swati was a consummate professional and worked hard to ensure that I was happy with the results. Swati was also willing to drive to both Oakland and up to Yountville for our different events. She was great with communication and quick to answer any questions I had regarding different design options and the overall process. I would definitely recommend Swati to anyone looking for a henna artist! read more

I contacted Swati in the last minute from Los Angeles and she was able to schedule me for my weekend trip to Fremont. When I arrived at my appointment everything was set up. It took 15 mins to get henna done for both hands. She was super quick and sweet. I highly recommend. Henna color came out super dark the next day after leaving it on for about 8 hours. Got many complements. read more

Swati did my small mehendi party a few days before the wedding and she was a delight to work with. She was professional, yet personal and so patient with all we had going on at once. My friends were so impressed with her work that day and even got more mehendi done when we had a sangeet function the following day. We had a lot of family members see her designs and rush to her table at the sangeet because they were so amazed by her details. I keep getting stopped at stores, and even at my own wedding as to who my mehendi designer was. If you're planning a wedding and want a good, natural mehendi color, I highly recommend Henna Traditions. I've added some pictures from my phone as I don't have the professional ones back yet. read more

I chose Swati for my Indian wedding ceremony in August. This was my introduction to mehndi (my husband is Indian) and she took the time to listen to what I wanted and explained the history and significance of it. She was responsive via email and was willing to travel to my home. I received so many compliments at my wedding about the quality of her work and the design. I definitely recommend her for your wedding or any events. read more
