I met Lauren at a Yelp event in January. She was there to draw henna on people for free. She is…read morevery good at her craft. Someone I used to work with years ago mentioned Loti Henna on Facebook and it rang a bell so I contacted Lauren to make an appointment. Since the pandemic hit, Lauren opened her own small studio. It's at 189 Buffalo Street, in front of a dog groomer, just before the Hamburg Village Square. (You'll see the sign for the dog groomer's business out front but that business is in the back and her business is in the front. The artwork on the window she did on her own.) Henna is temporary dye made from the leaves of lawsonia inermis. Henna also refers to the temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. I asked her to do something freehand on my left forearm. I had her do a small peace sign, a heart and a buffalo on my right wrist. She did a great job. After the henna design sets, it's reddish brown. It will last for 1-3 weeks. Lauren has cool clothing for sale that she designed herself. Come check out her studio. She currently is by appointment only so Facebook message her at Loti Henna to set up an appointment. There is a boutique crawl in Hamburg on Friday October 23rd from 12-8.
