I really cannot express what a godsend Dr Lalonde has been to our family . While using a carefully…read morechosen, well known dentist in Florida , my daughter was the unfortunate recipient of a botched implant . I wish I could say that was accidental, but it was careless disregard for protocol which caused the problem Dr Lalonde inherited. The experienced but overconfident Florida doctor placed an implant sideways. Most periodontists would take a simple intraoperative X-ray which would confirm the implant is straight but this doctor disregarded protocol resulting in a sideways implant that ran dangerously close to the nerve of the GOOD tooth next to it. In a word : Disaster. Dr Lalonde caught this problem quickly on a follow-up visit upon my daughter's return to Indiana. He urgently advocated on my daughter's behalf speaking to the doctors in Florida and consulting his own mentors in Ohio to organize a treatment plan to correct the mess . Ultimately , Dr Lalonde removed the poorly placed implant and placed new bone graft material , placed a new (proper) implant and veneers to make the both congenital defects and prior orthodontia match . In my opinion , this was an extremely complicated case both emotionally and physically. It took courage for Dr Lalonde to confront another dentist regarding his work and honestly I do not think many would even want to get involved trying to undo another person's mistakes. But he did and turned the mess into something worthwhile. I cannot imagine any other doctor would be as personally involved from start to finish as he was . Fixing this problem took two years and with each step there was uncertainty whether or not the procedures he tried would even work within the frame he inherited ! Dr Lalonde tirelessly and steadily made our burden his own and SUCCEEDED in turning our tears and pain into a giant smile . Dr Lalonde even gave us his personal cell phone for questions or emergencies and consistently responded anytime we used it . While the physical outcome is obviously amazing (see photo below) , what you cannot see in a picture is the HOURS he worked tirelessly behind the scenes and even on his days off and into the night if necessary to make this masterpiece come to life . I can safely say after seeing him perform seemingly every procedure a periodontist or cosmetic dentist could be required perform , I can report with confidence his work is exceptional in all areas. I wholeheartedly recommend him and I would go so far as to say think twice in trusting anyone else or you could be us ! THANK YOU DR LALONDE ! You are a treasure .

All of the work had already been completed except for modifying my deture to connect with my 2 implanted posts. I did not have the work completed at the office due to the high cost. The office was not covered under my Delta Dental Insurance so 100% of the cost was coming out of my pocket. My husband and I are seniors with many health problems and simply could not afford the high cost. On my last office visit, I paid the office $2000 for the future work to be done. When I found out my insurance was not going to cover any of the costs, as first told to me by the office, I requested a detailed invoice for any current charges and a refund for the money that was left. Two months later, I have yet to see either one. The staff continues to give me the run around, "we have to talk to the doctor ", "its been mailed", and so forth. I can't get my $2000 back and in these days of very high living costs, it HURTS! My husband and I need our $$$$ back!

However she has finally found a new dentist office that is welcoming, friendly and cares about her dental health!! I greatly appreciated the office calling & Dr Victoria Guido speaking to me personally about my daughters care. Especially since the previous office my daughter visited scared her to death with treatment that wasn't necessarily needed. Thank you to the Dr Victoria Guido, Dr Guido and the entire staff for the excellent care my daughter received. She has nothing but good things to say about her visits. Oh yes, Thank you Brittany for answering all my question each time I called with your delightfully happy personality! We Highly recommend this office!!

They work with new dental assistants, but have had the same employees for years. Have had issues over the years. Once we called Dr Guido at about 6:00 AM because of an issue that arose. It was the only time we could contact them to tell them we weren't going to be able to make our appointment that day. He was very nice about us waking him up early. The Corona virus, he contacted us on a Saturday evening to touch base in person about our up coming appointments. Can't say enough THANKS for the way they have worked with us over the years. You are a person with real life situations not just a number. Even though they are not a children's dental office, they work well with the little ones too.

I decided to write a review because I have been reading nasty reviews (probably deserved) of other…read moredental offices in town, and I thought it might be nice to write a good review for a dental practice that definitely deserves it. I have been going to Dr Ortman since I moved to Lafayette in 2008 (I'm writing this in 2015). His staff has always been knowledgeable and friendly, and the dental hygienists are very good at what they do. Getting my teeth cleaned is not my favorite way to spend an hour, but they make it as pleasant as possible. The last hygienist I saw was Kirsten, and she was friendly, gentle, and even made me laugh a few times. There is a new dentist there, Nathan Webster, and not only is he a good dentist and explained everything clearly to me, but he's also easy on the eyes. Mmmm hmmm. Anyway, since my insurance is through Purdue (for grad students) and it's total crap, I had to pay out of pocket, about $245 for x-rays, exam, and cleaning. While that's not cheap for me at all, it's still better than going to the two places that are covered under my insurance, both of which magically see cavities that you don't have and run exorbitant, unnecessary treatments such as "deep cleaning" and "mouth cancer screen". Oh, and if you're from Dr. Ortman's practice and you're reading this: please update your website and add some pics of your new dentist. Thx.

Jeanine said my request was nonsense and she wouldn't take me off the list for their marketing company. She said I should just throw the ad away if I don't want to put it on my fridge. When I asked for the contact information for the marketing company, she wouldn't provide it. Through information provided by Tina, I found the parent company Heartland Dental, Elgin, Illinois. 217- 540-5100. They connected me to their marketing division. I requested to be taken off their mailing list and also informed them of unhelpful customer service at their Farabee location. I will not utilize their dental services and I'll let my friends know.

Before I begin, I would first like to compliment the office staff and the dental hygienist. They…read morewere all top-notch and deserved 5 stars. But, when Dr. Schroeder came into the room, for several reasons, I was unusually on guard. To begin with, he immediately informed me, before he conducted any hands-on examination, that I needed a molar removed. (To qualify myself, although now retired, I've been in the medical field for over 40+ years; Not in the field of orthodontics, however, I am degreed in several specialized fields of medicine.) As I began to explain to Dr. Schroeder about the specialized care of the molar in question, Dr. Schroeder rolled his eyes and asked who performed the work. When I gave him the name of the highly respected and long-standing independent dentist in our community who performed the work 10 years ago, Dr. Schroeder stated, with much arrogance and hostility, this dentist was incompetent and would never pass the boards to become a dentist today. Dr. Schroeder also said he hoped this dentist was now retired. Dr. Schroeder criticized the work of this dentist by simply looking at the x-ray of this molar. Then, Dr. Schroeder began my examination. He spent less than 5 minutes poking around just a bit and came up with an extensive plan of care involving several thousands of dollars of dentistry. Shocked, I explained that I've been going to a private dentist in a different state every six months for years and never once had such a bad report. In addition, I was completely symptom free. Dr. Schroeder reacted to this statement with a shrug. I left the office appalled at Dr. Schroeder's unprofessional criticism of one of his peers, his lack of a professional and complete examination, and overall attitude toward me. Upon leaving, I called a friend in the dental field and described my visit. I was immediately referred to a private dentist who is also very well established in our community. Within two hours this dentist had me at his office, obtained the x-rays, panoramic views, and plan of care from Dr. Schroder. He then performed a thorough exam and consultation with me, all totally free of charge. The conclusion: The thousands of dollars outlined in Dr. Schroeder's plan of care that would have gone to the corporation that Dr. Schroeder is employed through, was nearly completely unnecessary. Consumer Alert! Avoid this company. In fact, avoid all corporate employed dentists. I was warned to never go to a corporate dentist, but due to my move and change of insurance, I was overdue for a cleaning and Farabee could see me right away. Do some complete research as I should have done before going to Dr. Schroeder regarding the differences between corporation dentists and independent dentists. You may pay a little bit more or have a longer wait to be seen, but your dental health, especially your children's dental health, is well worth it.
