I went in today and had yet another excellent experience with them. But let's start at how I got to really like these guys (and gals). I was in need of new ski boots. After a disgusting customer service experience at a custom made boot maker which conveniently disowned their warranty, I spent a good two months researching and coming up with two finalist models. I may not be the world's expert on ski gear but I've been skiing for forty years, I know the type, brand and style of boots I want, and after all, it's my feet. So I went to my local ski store and I got a dismissive "you take what we have". A friend of mine clued me in to Golf and Ski Warehouse and I went in on the defensive, considering the two previous experiences. Their sales staff is not only knowledgeable but was actually concerned with what I wanted and how it fit and how I skied and what kind of skiing and a myriad of other parameters. I left so satisfied that I decided I'd come back. Repeatedly. I've had the boots now for two years and I absolutely love them. What's more, when I enter, I usually see the same salesperson who invariably asks me how they fit. That's customer service.... They also have a superb shop for ski maintenance. For the last two years, I've taken our skis there for pre-season tunes, specialty repairs and end of season tune. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I've been impressed at the entry and shopping protocols they have adopted. Max 20 people in the store, masks are absolutely required, sanitizer everywhere, and credit card transactions are contactless. It gives the customer a safe feeling when the staff is also taking precautions and enforcing safe protocols. Next purchase is a new set of skis. And I'm in the research mode.....

Their selection is very impressive, and covers most, if not all the OEM's clubs that you would want to try. The free fittings are also more comfortable than expected, and I've never felt rushed, or "sold to." During an iron fitting, I ended up taking 2 hours and tried 16 different models, all trying to find our perfect fit, and never once felt obligated to get out of there, or to purchase (even though I did get the irons). Then they were very good about putting in a special order for the custom options we settled on, as well as shipping them to me for free. The driver fitting was equally about 2 hours, and I'm very pleased with the outcome. It didn't hurt that the rewards program they have made for a nice discount on the driver purchase. I've also been for two wedge fittings at different times, and the first time my swing was off, and rather than trying to force a sale, the fitter suggested reconvening at a different time, which was relieving. I came back, and am happy with the results. Great store selection, low pressure salespeople, easy custom ordering, and fantastic rewards program. With the driving range across the parking lot, it makes for a must visit fitting location that I recommend to all my VT friends. EDIT: I should also note, each time there, I've dealt with a different salesperson and each one has provided me with a solid professional experience.

Randy took the time to really evaluate the needs of my daughter, the rider. He explained various reasons why her foot shape may cause pain and worked to expand the boots in certain spots. He took a lot of time to make sure the fit was just right. Except this time we had three members of the family bought boots. Every aspect of our experience was top notch. Max, the boot fitter, is an expert. As well as a personable individual. The resort is owned by the venerable Woodstock Inn, a gem of national distinction. And the upscale air is evident in the friendliness and poise of the staff at Saskadena. A huge lodge with historical pictures everywhere, including memorializing the first motorized life transportation in the US, a 900 foot rope tow built in 1934. Formerly named Suicide Six, the resort centers around a modern yet charming lodge with a huge hearth, a bustling cafeteria, and a well stocked bar. The resort is a scant eight minute ride from the beautiful town of Woodstock, where the Rockefeller and Billings legacy is still visible. Parking at Saskadena Six is not an issue, the parking areas are close to the lodge and a ramp takes the visitor to the lodge area. Saskadena Six has been a part of the Indy Pass for a few years now, and it has become a family favorite. Entering the lodge, one can perform ticket purchases inside or outside. Donning boots and equipment is done in benches and chairs in the lodge, with inside cubicles around the walls. The lodge has plate glass windows on its entire slope facing side, providing beautiful views of the ski area. Once ready to hit the slopes, the nearest lift is the fixed quad that takes the visitor to the 1,200 foot summit. The resort has a 650-foot vertical drop, featuring 24 runs on 100 acres.. Besides the quad, Saskadena sports a double lift on the far side of the resort, and a J-bar. The challenging Show Off run is a steep, mogul filled track, while The Face and Crystal are parallel black diamonds. Several other runs feature both natural, groomed and mogul filled. Saskadena Six usually gets 110 inches of yearly snow, augmented by a vigorous snowmaking system. Dining at Saskadena Six is quick and efficient. A roped off area separates the alcohol-served areas from the rest of the lodge. Several local brews are on tap, as well as national selections. Skiing Saskadena is a pleasure. Small but quite pleasant, devoid of the stress of the larger ski areas in New England. Its history and charm are welcome assets in an industry where sterility seems to be popular. Terrain is rated 30% beginner, 40% intermediate and 30% advanced.

Bootfitter here assessed my feet and convinced me to buy demo boots that I learned were too big and too high a flex for my level. As a result of these ill fitting boots I experienced a tremendous amount of pain, wasted hours trying to fix, and wasted hundreds of dollars and more considering the cost of skiing and ski trips. These boots also put me at a much more increased risk of injury.' After getting custom orthotics, and visiting a 2nd boot fitter, who said the boots are too big to be fixable, I returned to the boot pro (2 hours a way) drove two hours to go back to The Boot Pro. Boot pro confirmed the boots were infact way too big, provided a refund for the boots, without any apology or acknowledgement of the impact of their error. They even tried to upsell me some leftover boots. When I emailed the owner his response was that boot fitting is a complimentary service and implied he would not refund my money if I did not take down my negative google review. Showed no concern or apology. I've heard ill fitting boots are a common occurrence at this store and that the nearby totem store does a much better job.

Shop was really clean, well-organized and personable. Helpful in trying to determine what would be best, he let me go for a test ride and suggested a steep hill across the street for a test. These bikes are really pretty amazing, could go up a really steep hill at 8-10 mph, with little effort, which normally one might have to walk up their bike it was so steep! They are getting in a new shipment, one of which I'd like to test ride/check out. Repair shop looked really organized and productive. Would recommend based on my experience with other bike shops and experiences, seems like they have a good reasonable selection of bikes for people, vs. only high-end bikes, that cost a fortune. Easy to access and plenty of parking too. Will be further investigating these e-bikes.
