Snapped a binding at Killington. Darkside had solid options and prices to choose from. The staff was knowledgeable and swapped in the new bindings for free. Great vibe. Highly recommend. read more

Our daughter needed a top quality board for competition. John was beyond outstanding! Listened to her needs and nailed it, she found exactly what she wanted. Picked out bindings and mounted them. We went to have lunch so he could wax and do the bindings. Came back and everything was all set. We traveled a couple hours to the store and won't hesitate to do it again! The total was less than what I expected. Great customer service and extremely good value! read more

I am obsessed with this store. I went in for one thing, walked out with four. Got a new hoodie and beanie I didn't need but couldn't resist and I'm in love with them. There are some really awesome finds in here, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to blow more paychecks here in the future read more

I haven't shopped here in yearsssss....stopped by yesterday to try on some helmets, and pick up some accessories. Chris greeted us and helped us immediately when we walked in the door. I had questions, needed to try on, flitted back and forth looking at stuff, he was patient, knowledgeable, gave me some great insight on questions that I had, and just provided an amazing customer service experience. I'm an old-school customer back when y'all were across the road and further up the hill, and I'm happy that this was my first (and consequently ONLY) snowboard shop that we stopped at. If you need accessories, a while new set-up, or just want to check out some stuff in-person, Darkside should be your first stop at Killington. read more

My wife and I have been going to dark side for some years and we've been snowboarding and skiing entire lives. We stopped in before the holiday and I grabbed a couple of hats worth about $100 and was about to spend probably $600 in the store and all of a sudden my wife was accosted by two young punks insisting that she put a mask on. We proceeded to put our items immediately back and leave the store. We've spent thousands of dollars at dark side and we won't go there again. read more

John always great super friendly amd engaging! Goes above and beyond with service! Great selection of all things snowboard related!!!

So I got a full tune on my board. Which is a stone grind, sharpened edges and a wax job. I don't know what has happened to this shop but I was super disappointed. Customer service was friendly but the quality of work was really bad. My rails were sticking way farther down then the base of my board. Made riding my snowboard not fun. My board would either dig into the ground or just not grab at all. The board also would want to fight me to initiate a turn. They also left a ton of wax on my board. Such a bummer. The next day I took the board to SURF THE EARTH and paid $11 less for the same work and my board was awesome again. It was a waste of money that I spent on Darkside and removed a littl life out of my board. read more

I needed some wrist guards and some wax and my friend Cheni took me to Darkside. The staff was great. They were really helpful and spent time answering questions I had about other products. They really are a classy group that is knowledgeable and friendly. They are extremely helpful without pushing you to make a sale. In fact, the guy behind the counter charged me a dollar less for a wax scraper. I know it was just a dollar, but the culture of this shop seems to be really laid back and family oriented. They know their stuff. They are patient. A newbie with us bombarded them with questions, and they were happy to teach. They really have pretty decent prices and a great selection. If I need something in this area, this is where I would go. They also rent boards that are really new, which is quite awesome. A member of our group was riding a pretty amazing rental. I don't see them giving you yesteryear's popsicle stick. This place is too classy. read more

Darkside Snowboards - Great service. Quick. They know their snowboards! We have rented for two seasons. - Ski & Snowboard Shops Near Me - Killington, Vermont

Based on yelp reviews decided to buy my 1st snowboarding boots here. They measured my feet and told me what size boot I need. After that offered me a few boots and I decided to try Nike kaijus. But apparently they didn't have my size. After that salesperson said that even if I go size higher it will be ok, it might even be better because I have wide feet. I replied that I read on Internet that snowboard boots break and get a bit looser over time. He told me that I am a beginner and I shouldn't think about it too much and just enjoy riding. He assured me that I will be fine. Well after 3 days those boots got so big that my feet were swimming in them, had to buy new pair online. Ps. For 25 minutes I was there staff paid no attention to me other than saying hello and bringing a pair of boots to me. Apparently they just got a few new movies so they couldn't help but stare at the screen... They have a good selection just like many other stores in Vermont. But salesperson is there not to help you, they are there to make you buy a product. read more

Darkside is my snowboard shop; the only one I bother to go to. Granted Killington is also my mountain so I am up here almost every weekend. However, I have plenty of options to go elsewhere given that i live in Boston, and I still wouldn't go anywhere else. What makes Darkside exceptional is their customer service. It is a family-owned business, and it shows. The owner is often present, and his staff is knowledgable, friendly, and extremely patient. I am one of those people who does a lot of research and thinking before purchasing any new gear. I will come into Darkside two or three times to check out their gear and talk to their staff, and never feel rushed or pressured to purchase anything. With the pressure of lot of online options these days, it is hard to stay on top as a brick and mortar business. But, with Darkside's dedication to excellence, they keep me coming back. Aside from their customer service, they have a ton of awesome gear that you won't find anywhere else. Things are usually not cheap, but they do have sales at the end of the season I know for boards. They also have a really good demo deal. If you demo a board (40 bucks if you bring your own bindings and boots), you can put that towards the purchase of a new board anytime! You can put up to 3 demos towards a purchase. I demoed 2 boards before buying my Burton Feelgood, and it's thanks to their recommendations that I am riding (and loving!) it today. read more

Great store, very nice fellow working there.. made the experience 10x better! Checked out some awesome Darkside apparel to bring back to NY. We saw the half pipe in the back and wished we brought a skate board so and were bummed we didn't. Luckily the guy working had two skateboards to let us borrow and we had a lot of fun riding the half pipe for a little with our daughter! Such a great shop to check out and support while your in town. read more

Been in here a bunch of times. Always greeted upon entry and then left alone to shop at my own pace. Never pressured by any sales people!!! PERFECT buying (I'm a buyer, NOT a shopper) experience for my ways. That may not be for everyone but it certainly works great for me. They do help you and know their stuff for equipment also. Knowledgable and patient which is exactly how it should be. Highly recommended shop! read more

This is the go to spot for snowboard stuff in Vermont. They have features up and DIY skate feature in parking lot. They had a great staff and carry all the good stuff. All the crab grab stomp pads and even the spring break Capita stuff. All killer no filler Staff was friendly and not intimidating. Super Rad shop. Dope staff Totally recommend it if you are in the area. read more

Probably one of my favorite ski/snowboard shops as far as wardrobe, at least. I swear every time I come in here I end up buying something I shouldn't be spending money on (maybe it's because I'm buzzed from Happy Hour at Casey's). They have a decent selection of brands (but are very Burton oriented as a previous Yelper pointed out, although I do have an awesome Special Blend jacket from here) that are "stylish" and most importantly warm. If you're looking for a snowboard they have a huge selection and the staff is extremely knowledgeable (my friend has bought quite a few from here). Love the Darkside. read more

Rented skis from here. Super friendly and knowledgable staff! Will definitely rent from here again next time !

Terrible terrible. I have been shopping at darkside for years. Inevitable we always need to buy some piece of gear while on vacation. Like yesterday when my son told me he forgot his jacket so we had to stop by to get him a new one. We usually get good service but today I went there and recieved service so deplorable I will never return. I was the only person standing at the counter. I stood there for 10 mins without any acknowledgement from the staff. When a white male walked in, the staff immediately rushed to ask how they could help him. I asked the lady if there was anyone who could help me but she said she had been busy so that is why she hadn't tried to help me. I pointed out that she had suddenly become free enough to help the other gentleman but she sinply said she was busy she wasn't ignoring me. I left. I did try to bring my concerns to a manager (after my husband insisted that if a manager was made aware the situation would be addressed) but the manager didnt seem to care. He said they were busy. He should treat his black customers the same way he treats his white customers. He was very nonchalant, he didnt care about my desire for equality and he didnt really care whether I ever shopped there again. Me or the rest of my people...... read more

This place always has the latest and greatest gear (if not sold out) and is always very knowledgeable, kind and willing to help. I have never had better customer service as when I come here. If the Darkside crew reads this, thank you again. read more

I made a Yelp account specifically to give these guys the review they deserve: amazing. We were first turned into Darkside by a friend who had been going for years, my boyfriend and I have been going to Darkside for a few seasons now, and they have never been short of awesome towards us. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, I completely trust their judgment for equipment recommendations and repair. I have loved every piece of equipment they have ever recommended from boards to jackets, and I know they will be there to help me out if anything were to go wrong with my equipment. They know their stuff and they can't wait to share. At the end of last season I had bought some burton bindings at Darkside, after a couple days in the mountain it became clear there were some issues with the clips, but because they had been a limited edition run I needed to replace the entire straps on both bindings. When the replacements arrived one of the toe straps had a manufacturer issue, Darkside replaced all the straps and repaired the defective one, but made sure I knew that I should contact burton for yet another replacement, all for the price of a smile. My boyfriend bought a pair of ThirtyTwo boots, the brackets started to break after just a few days on the mountain and the wonderful folks at Darkside offered to return them to the manufacturer for us and have been providing him boots while his are being replaced, while remaining in contact with ThirtyTwo and keeping us up to date on the progress of the situation. I have never experienced customer service and care like what Darkside provides their customers. They make you feel like an old friend, or the most loyal regular they have, even if it's your first time stepping in the shop. Darkside takes care of you, and sometimes when it's warm they'll grill you a hamburger. read more

Great mail order service. I was looking for a jacket that was sold out in NYC stores. Saw that it was available online here, but decided to call first, as I didn't know who this retailer was. Whoever picked up the phone was really pleasant and professional. The shop sent out the jacket immediately (made a trip to the post office!), gave me shipping choices, sent about four emails to keep me posted on the progress, and sure enough, the well-packaged jacket arrived right on time. I would buy from them again. read more

These guys are great when it comes to anything on a board. I bought skateboards from them last summer for my boys and they love it. They also continue to answer questions and help with gear long after you've made a purchase. This winter we leased snowboards from them and have traded gear in twice due to growth spurts. No hassle and knowledgeable service here without the typical elitism you get at skate shops or an REI. read more

I'm not a snowboarder, I was in a pinch for some ski rentals. The workers here were so sweet and did show me their ski rental room but advised me of some other speciality ski shops in the area. Was there last week, Killington resorts website posted them as giving 10% college discount. Only thing they were handing out was complete rudeness and no discounts. Feel free to go here if you want to be treated like a third class citizen, I will NEVER be back to give them one dime. read more

Darkside is probably one of my favorite snowboard shops located on Killington Mountain. The store has a very cool layed back feel to it and the service from the workers is great. They are there to answer your every question without hounding you to buy. They have a great selection of boards, bindings, boots, apparel and much more. They have a great sticker selection as well. I recently when all around Killington looking for a great belt that isn't uncomfortable to ride in and out of all the places this was most helpful. Can't wait to come next weekend and see if they have anything new! read more

Really nice guys at the shop, they helped get me fitted for boots and a board since I had no experience. Rental was only $30 per day for boots, bindings, and the board. I'm told that the board I rented was a really good board. I'll definitely return to Darkside the next time I'm in Killington! read more

Very helpful. They did a complete tune-up on my 15-year-old board that was both effective and fairly-priced.

Nice shop, worth the drive! They are very Burton, which is a downside for me. I did get some awesome Rome bindings from them (ordered online, speedy free shipping!). The guy who helped me was awesome too. You really gotta know what's up when you are selling boards. He took the time with me and sold me some non-Burton stuff! Prices are good for a locally owned board shop. I'll be going again! read more

I rented skis here. They seemed brand new and were only $30 a day. I will return to Darkside if I need to rent in Killington again.

Got there desperate for globes. Asked for help to find good globes for the powder. Got sold into buying an $80 dollar pair of rome globes that were on sale for $64.15 . Got to the mountain, geared up ,and the gloves snaps break off as i open them, i put the wrist strap, Its also snaped off. Well the lifts just opened, so i figure i would have to go back to the store at the end of the day. After my first run, both gloves are socked and cold. The two specific things i told the sales man i wanted to avoid. So i make it through the day with cold hands..... I get to the store and i was greeted by a really nice girl in the front. Who tried to help and even went to get another pai of gloves to help me. How ever she says she has to speak to her co worker before handing me the replacement glove. In turn a kid with an attitude comes out of the back, furious. And the first thing that comes out of his mouth is. "Why you want it fixed if you dont use that piece" i reply " I do" ,he then proceeded to say i cant do anything for you. And i ask him if he could atleast try and help me fix mine. Which he replied " can you?". Very rude, very unfortunate, i feel like i was sold defective useless set of gloves. I regret my visit to this place, i usually visit a shop a bit passed the killington rd, and never had an issue. Always nice staff very knowledgeable and wil not sell you, useless products. Too bad darkside, i really wanted to leave as happy as all the other comments...... Never again! read more
