There's a good size playground for younger and older children, including swings, slides and monkey bars as well as a big sandbox with 2 excavators. Not to mention, there are tons of trucks, cars, walkers and ride-on toys for the younger children to play with. Sprinklers are turned on during the summer (don't forget your kid's bathing suit and towel). Where the bathrooms are located at inside the community room, there's a billiard and ping pong table, a water fountain and vending machines for your convenience. Next to the playground, there's a basketball and tennis court, where you can also play handball, badminton and volleyball. This park could get a bit crowded during summer camp times but it isn't too bad.

I'm a big Yelp Check-In guy. I mean I don't usually opt for checking into the smaller stores and…read moredaily monotonous spots (besides Dunkin'), but any interesting areas are worthy of the button click with possibility of Dukedom. Though for whatever reason, I spent all summer walking over to Ridder's Pond and never once left my Yelp mark. I don't know why. Maybe it was the quiet calmness of the area that left me wanting to check out from social media. Perhaps the picnic tables and benches were better used to gaze into the blue skies and (somewhat) murky water in front of me. Or possibly it was a childhood connection (or reconnection) to this tiny park as it was somewhere I used to spend a lot of time as a lad galavanting in the tiny playground area. Whatever it was, as I sat at Ridder's Pond yesterday at the end of the summer (a few more calendar weeks left technically), it just felt right to write a little ode (and take a few pics) to this calming spot. I don't expect you to know Ridder's Pond. It's honestly nothing special. Like I mentioned, the water isn't necessarily clean. The bathrooms are rather outdated. Oh and the geese reign strongly at certain points of the warmer months so be wary of them (and their droppings). But despite all of this, there are truly blissful moments that can be found sitting and peering out at the ripples of water. The path around the pond works well for exercising and you can even fish or catch a glimpse of some wildlife (turtles, bunnies, an occasional hawk feeding). No matter your reason for coming, it'll be a relaxing vibe that always wins out over anything else (even the geese). Overall, Ridder's Pond is a small local spot that helps in giving you a little nature in all the right ways. It's far from perfect, and you may end up with a little goose souvenir on your shoe if you're not careful, but the view makes it worth the negatives. These walks and hangouts are something I'll miss once the weather starts to take a turn towards cold, but I know when Spring finally rolls around again, I plan on continuing to disconnect and leave the Check-Ins to someone else. I'll enjoy the view instead.

They usually have a concert between 7-9pm, with the fireworks immediately after the concert. If you ever want to see fireworks up close, this is the place to see it!! But be warned:. He had a really great time and talk about a 2 to 3 hour nap. He didn't fully understand everything, considering he is 16 months old, but he did have a fun time while he was there. There is an area for children his age so he can play around there, but I was able to have him run around and play everywhere else. He didn't care for the bubbles area, but absolutely loved the sand corner that they have. There is a little sandbox for the kids so that way toddlers can go and play it if they wanted to. He loved going up and down the stairs and playing in the block area as well. When I first went, I didn't use what the library offered. Which if you put in that you have a library card, you and a child can get in for free for the day. My husband did come with us when I made the day through the library, but considering he got the library card and showed them that he had it, he was able to pay half the price. Which was nine dollars for us. Otherwise it would have been $18. It was a great time for my son and we were there for almost 2 hours as he was running around the place. If you do want to go more often, I know they offer a family packages. I also know that you can get a two-year package and a one-year package. The basic one-year package is $200. Which if that is the only thing you can afford is totally worth it. Especially on days where it is too cold to stay outside or it is raining. I know the other packages offer more stuff, but they are a little bit more expensive. This place is great considering that they do have events each week. That is great for all different ages. This is a place. I will definitely be taking my son more and once I have more kids will be taking them there as well.
