The house needed a lot…read moreof cleaning and I discussed the specific items I wanted addressed with Barbie multiple times. Her team spent a day and a half at the house "cleaning". After we started to move in, we found the kitchen cabinets and drawers were not cleaned out and dishes from the previous owner were still in some of them. The dust and cobwebs on the walls and ceiling were a specific item I requested to be cleaned and they were not touched. The bathroom showers still had not been cleaned. The carpets were supposed to be steam cleaned but the small machine they used did no good. They didn't even vacuum up after using the steam cleaner. I'm extremely disappointed with the work they did and cannot recommend them to anyone. Rating would be 0 stars but it won't let me do 0.

Speed rather than good job seems to be the primary goal. This last time, they claimed a glitch in updating their computers, and apparently mis-scheduled several customers including me, saying they would be here at 9:00, then saying oops, it'll be noon or later. When I protested (because I got up 3 hours earlier than I had to to be ready for them), they sent the usual team at 9;30 (even tho I hadn't asked for that), but the gals showed up with petulant attitude (audible sighs) and sloppy work (there was still dust on the floor, the master bathroom mirror wasn't cleaned, etc). English Maids could have offered a discount - IF THEY HAD CARED ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION - but they chose to handle it this way, which was worse. That was just the last straw. I understand that it may be hard to keep staff today, but still. If you're going to hire someone to work in your home, you have every right to think they will do the best job possible, and leave your home better than they found it. That doesn't happen with English Maids. I'm a senior but I'll be cleaning my home myself going forward. That's better than wondering each month whether I'll be happy with the job they've done or not.

She was able to make it work in her schedule and made a very competitive bid for the work. The communication from beginning to meeting her in person was good. She was on time, had all of her own supplies ready, and got right to work as soon as she was able to identify the various areas needing attention. Overall, she spent three hours at the house and didn't stop working once. Very diligent, pleasant, and we immediately set up twice monthly cleanings with her. You should give her a call if you're on the fence.
