He was wonderful, communicated very well (text, cell phone and email, fast to respond, obviously also met in person), worked independently, did an excellent job, stayed exactly within a tight time frame (because I had to replace carpets and move in) and was very well priced. I think he should be one of the first people you contact, and the only thing I regret is that I did not have him also paint my basement (which I painted myself), because I know he would have done a better job at a very reasonable price - and I say this, being very handy myself! He is excellent and I wish I had another project for him to do! On a more technical note, the paint job was done early November of 2018 and included both floors of my two-storey house: Two bedrooms, three closets,1.5 bathrooms, two hallways, stairs, a living-room and dining area, walls and ceiling.

Initially we only required the main floor to be painted to ready the house for sale. Once my wife saw the outstanding work she commissioned the second floor and basement as well. It is no easy task impressing my wife. The lines have to be absolutely perfect. No bleed over or spotting. Can I give 6 stars? Thank you Levi for your kindness to my wife and father-in-law.

"Perfection is a Process" is the motto of this company head up by the painting guru himself, Mr…read more Ned Welch. He and his well trained, exceptionally crafted worksmen definitely have surpassed the idea of perfection for me each time I've used them for projects I've needed done. They started by painting the exterior of the 1929 house. This included stucco paint, trim, repairing/replacing rotted wood. I even asked them to clean out my gutters (you know- since they already had their ladders up there ;)) all done with a smile. I've also had Welch Painting repair my crappy, popcorn ceiling after a water leak and it turned out fantastic. There is no project they can't perfect. They are also well trained in assembling bicycles it seems (even though it has nothing to do with painting). Ned Welch and his Superhero squad has recently made the houses of Linden Hills his vast canvas of perfection. I am just one of many satisfied customers who has taken the time to write up a review. If you have the idea, he has the vision. If you have the canvas, he has the paint. If you need perfection, he knows the process. Look no further than this review. You will NOT be disappointed.

He provided a pre bid before he arrived based on our square footage which was nice to know the ballpark price. He finalized the bid after the walk through with our agreed upon repairs and paint choice. His pricing is very reasonable and includes repairs and prep work that others may charge more for. He was very easy to work with and went above and beyond what would be expected, he noticed we had not put out our recycle bin one morning and called to ask if we wanted it out, while painting behind the dryer he noticed it needed a newer vent hose and got and installed it, he noticed the motion detector battery was low charge and picked up a new one. His prep work is meticulous and he is very particular about his work, (particular is how he describes his standards). He cleaned up ceiling bumps and sloppy work left by previous painters. All this and he was 20% lower than other bids. We will definitely be asking Rick to paint for us in the future.

I wanted to avoid the summer rush and get on the schedule so I started looking in early March. I ultimate selected the bid from Scott Ford of Highland Park Painters. His was not the lowest bid, but I selected it based on what I perceived as more professionalism than the others. I was certainly wrong about that. Two days before the scheduled start in mid-May Scott called to say he had changed his mind, that he no longer wanted to do my job and that he would introduce me to a couple of guys who used to work for him that would. I asked why they would do it and not him. He replied that he had a lot of work this summer which indicated to me he could replace my business with more profitable business. To make a proposal, acknowledge my acceptance, and give me a start date only to back out days before because of a better deal is not ethical and it certainly is not professional. The two he introduced me to didn't work out at all. Their bid was twice the amount of Highland Park Painters and absurd. They reduced the bid one day and then raised it back up the next so I told them to forget it. In their defense they were new to the business and had no idea of how to estimate their time.

However I have to admit that the final results (including prep time and cleanup) are far better and considerably more meticulous than anything we could have done. I had a need for both exterior (+lead abatement) and interior work. While supply chain shortage of matching paint colors stretched out the overall project, AtheH (Randy in particular) kept me regularly informed and made sure that I didn't fall through the cracks during the prolonged process. In the end I am happy with the interior work. The exterior appears greatly improved as well. Alas, both required repeat visits but all was done at no extra cost and throughout reps were gracious and professional. As icing on the cake, my final fees were lower than the amount owed on the original invoice. I do remain a bit unclear as to exactly what the exterior lead removal (adhering to rigorous protocols) really did (other than add considerably to the price). Cost aside (and when I blanched I may well have been living in the past) all things considered I'm happy and satisfied. Oh what the heck, five stars it is.To my eyes Admire the Hue did great work. It's often been said: "You get what you pay for." In my experience a high price is no guarantee of high quality. However high quality almost always carries a higher price tag. When it comes down to brass tacks, I'm grateful that I chose AtheH.

Given the comment from the company making it seem as though I somehow failed to take the right…read moresteps to address their issues, I am updating my review. I will clarify that I did raise these issues in an email to Randy well in advance of leaving a review. I received no response. It was only after I posted my review that a representative from the company left a message wanting to "discuss" how to improve their process. Other than stating it in a review, I do not believe they did offer to do anything to address the issues or provide a partial refund for the supposed prep work that was never completed. That said, when a Company has failed to supervise their workers such that your home is damaged every time they enter--I'm not sure why they believe we would want them to continue coming back to do the work they failed to do during the first 2 rounds of touch-ups. As time has gone on I have only become more unhappy with the work that was done. We have a lot of cracking, which should not happen in paint that's only a few months old if the area was prepped right. And in doing touchups I've found tape from prior paint jobs that they simply painted over, which is about as lazy as you can get.
