Hello, Harmony Baptist Church. I'd like to start by saying I was very excited for this experience. I thought it would be neat to see a Biblical spin on a haunted house, because that's just something you don't see often. I thought it would be unique, scary, and fun. Instead, it was preachy, infuriating, and the only thing exceptional about it was its exceptionally stupid message that if you're not white, Baptist, and male, you're going to burn in Hell. I agree this isn't suitable for children under thirteen. Not because it's scary, - because it wasn't that in the slightest - but because a child under thirteen could likely still be brainwashed into believing any of the message is true. Let's take a tour of this racist, disrespectful, horribly-acted out "haunted house", shall we? SPOILER ALERT: THIS WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN THE 2k15 HG. It starts off showing us news clips about war, pestilence, famine, and death, then goes on to show us the Rapture. Earthquakes and crappy camera feed show us that Jesus has come back and is taking all the saved people up to heaven, leaving the rest of God's so-called "beloved children" to starve, die painfully, or live out their lives in misery until they burn in hell for eternity. Next, we see all the chaos and horror that's occurring now that the Biblical apocalypse has been brought on. They then show us a newly developed government led by Prince Ameer who is, apparently, the Antichrist and is trying to provide shelter, food, and medicine for anyone who accepts a stamp to show that they'll be loyal to this government. What they don't show you or tell you is that you also have to bow to Prince Ameer and prostrate yourself on the ground to worship a statue he had erected of himself. You get the option to go through the door of Poverty (where three Christians were previously taken out and "shot") or the door of Prosperity, where you'll get free housing, free food, and free medicine in a world where none of that is available otherwise. They pretend to stamp your hand with the mark of the beast if you choose prosperity, but you end up in the same place as those who chose poverty, so it's essentially a display of who's a good Christian and who's going to rot in hell. After that, they show us a band of Mexican pimps who are torturing and beating three or four white women on stage. Then the messengers of Heaven come down to tell everyone that God is real and it's not too late to believe and be saved. Just when they're about to be shot by government, this Rebel Army comes in and shoots the gunman, then takes us to their "hideout", where we hear them talking about how they all almost took the mark, but they realized God was the only real way to go. Then the government kidnaps two of the soldiers and shoots them in front of us. Soon after, they show us a projected video where their souls fly up to heaven, you see Jesus smiling with open arms, and a white horse runs through the clouds. We then go through the door of the condemned and into God's throne room, which is now being run by God's bratty, pretentious, prick of a son who cast an Atheist, a woman who was a nurse/doctor (but not a Baptist), and a Christian who was "too fake" into Hell. Then we get to a room where they show us a terribly made video of people dying and running to Jesus happily in a field by a lake. Then a preacher gives us a fifteen or twenty minute sermon, essentially telling us to become Baptist or we would burn in Hell for eternity. These are merely the opinions and thoughts of my group (whom the majority of which were Christian) and myself. We had a terrible time and will ward anyone away from this attraction that we can. Quite frankly, if I wanted to hear (again) about how I'm going to burn because I'm agnostic, I would have gone to a Baptist church, rather than paying $12 for a haunted house. An excellent haunted attraction off the beaten path. My friends didn't tell me this is put on by a church so I did not know ahead of time about the Christian themes. I liked how long the whole production was, but there were times that it was a little long. I believe it took my group over an hour. The theatrical production takes place outdoors and replicates a mock end of the world scene from the Bible Revelations. I've always wondered what the end of times might look like. Some of my friends thought it was a little funny that a church would simulate shooting Christians who would not agree to wear the mark or sign of the beast. I found the whole experience to be enlightening and thought provoking even for people who might not be Christians. We purchased tickets ahead of time online for 9:15 PM and did not start to go through until around 10:30 PM. Expect to wait around ahead of time. This was part of the disappointing parts in my humble opinion. The church could maybe add live actors in the parking lots and inside the waiting areas to set the tone ahead of time. Overall I would highly recommend this attraction and rate it a solid 4 out of 5. If next year the church makes some changes, I think this could be a 4.5 or 5 star attraction. I would even recommend they actually add the devil too in the venue. Lose the BK crown on Jesus/God though it looked out of place to my friends. read more

This was my fifth year attending the Hell's Gates outdoor trail and all I can say is WOW. I continue to be blown away year after year by the special effects and attention to detail that is put into this event. Let me start off by saying that THIS IS NOT A HAUNTED HOUSE. I realize some people think this is a haunted house and are put off when they arrive to find out it's not. Instead it is a Christian themed "reality drama" which has you walking down an outdoor trail to experience TEOTWAWKI (The End of the World as We Know It). If you've ever seen the Left Behind movies this is basically the same concept. I've been to several other Christian themed Halloween attractions in Georgia and this is by far the best one. I won't SPOIL the entire thing for you, but they actually have a real crashed airplane and exploding cars in one scene. In another scene, the flames of Hell are so intense I thought my eyebrows we going to light up. The whole experience is amazing! My one complaint is the parking situation. It had rained a lot for several days this year and they make you park in a field. Instead of parking on grass, we were basically parking in the mud puddle. IF they can improve the parking situation for next year, I'll up my rating to five stars. If you find yourself in Dawsonville around Halloween time, I highly recommend that you give this event a go. read more

What a great alternative to the haunted houses in Atlanta. From the high tech way you "check-in" at a ticket kiosk, to the delicious food at the concessions, waiting to go down the trail is easy and the staff are helpful. And the price is moderate too, compared to other like-venues. Once the instruction video is over and the photos are taken of your group, you're off! I won't spoil it for others but from the first scene to the last (at least an hour from start to finish) you will experience things more frightening than any haunted attraction. The special effects will blow you away with pyrotechnics and action from actors that have a passion for what they portray. From the realistic, full-scale sets, down to the details in the costumes, the creators have spared no expense in putting the spectator in the "middle of the action". I would not recommend this outdoor drama for preteens, unless their maturity level is advanced, because of the intensity of the violence and carnage. But Hell's Gates is something everyone should experience, at least once and it was a quick drive up GA 400 near the Outlet Mall. read more

Do not be fooled into thinking this is a haunted house! This is a hard-core sale on Christianity and they most definitely use scare tactics to try to get others to join. I have no problem with this being a religious demonstration but what I DO have a problem with is promoting it as a Halloween event and tricking people into thinking it's like a haunted house. To me and my whole family, this felt very cult-like from the very beginning. Essentially their message was "be born-again or you're going to Hell with all the other sinners". At the end the pastor came and spoke to the group to try to encourage everyone to accept Jesus as their savior. You are then led to a room where you are pressured into filling out an information card with all of your contact info. Even this part of the program felt very cult-like because as soon as my group walked into that room, 5 people from the church moved from the front of the room to the doorway blocking the exit. Needless to say, my family will never trust me again to pick a haunted house to visit for Halloween :) read more

What an incredible experience by a church of that size. From the acting to the exit survey these people have it together. What a tremendous way to show all people the reality of what is due to happen on this earth. Also to have concessions and a nice seating area was also relaxing and enjoyable getting to sit and talk to all different kinds of people. Hells Gates is put together from people from their church in which the members choose themselves where to work and be involved. This Is Not A Baptist thing but rather a biblical drama. I love Hells Gates and will go again and bring and invite others too. read more

This "Outdoor Reality Drama" was very well-executed. There were so many pyrotechnic effects like machine guns and explosions that keep your heart racing!! I was impressed that the website gave a parental advisory so I was aware that it would be inappropriate for my 3 young children. The wait area was comfortable (indoors) and there was a concession stand with reasonably-priced snacks to keep you busy while you wait for your group departure. I will definitely be adding this to my Fall Activity list!! Great job!! read more

Wonderful way to express the Bibles Last Days or "Left Behind" I am from the north and if had something like this up there Detroit wouldnt have gotten so run down. Great way to show your teens and pre teens what will happen and is going to happen when JESUS comes back for his church, Have to disagree with the person that went in 2013. When folks think that Neverland is a great halloween haunted house I would prefer to see what will happen. Its not a when of if its a matter of when. read more

I just went to this and was blown away. It is a great eye opener of Tribulation and what Armageddon will be like. I went with 6 other members from the church I attend and we all enjoyed it. It's not sugar coated and gives you a realization of what end times could be like. I feel everyone should attend something like this, cause it puts how important a life with Jesus Christ really is. I enjoyed the prayer you get at the beginning and end of the scenes. read more

My friends and I attended this event a few years ago and we plan to attend it on Nov. 2nd. We found it to be very realistic of what the Bible says is to come. Face it people, the only ones that object insist that because God is love He winks at sin and there is no accountability. My Bible tells me otherwise. God is love but He is also holy. I went through hells gates this year and all I can say is that this was the most amazing drama I have ever been to. From start to finish it was professionally done and extremely entertaining. I'm so glad I made the trip with my family. It took a while to get through but it was totally worth it. I recommend this for anyone who wants to see an alternative to a typical haunted house this year. read more

Stay Away - Haunted House SCAM. This is a very offensive way to bring people into the church, to Christ. As a Christian, I am disappointed that a church would try to scam people into coming to a Haunted House that is just a cover for trying to convert people into Christianity using scare tactics. Fear mongering people into christianity. Went here as a young teen/preteen and after growing up i've realized how this can be mentally abusive towards developing, and even developed brains. Making them terrified to the point of being a christian isn't what jesus would want. Christianity is about love and acceptance, not fear and hate. read more

Hells Gates just finished their fifth year. It is an outdoor reality show from the book of Relations. It is located in Dawsonville, Ga.. I have gone through the program several times and it is something I will never forget. Several hundred people visit it each year, I am anxious to visit it again in 2016!! read more

This a a great walk through of some scary real world reality all the way to the judgment and the gates of hell. Some small children may be scared, I even saw a 12 chicken out... if you want to see up close scares taken right from the world you should go.... This was our families first time to see this and we thought that it was great. There were many scenes to walk through and in each scene the actors did a superb job. It seemed very close to the way the Bible teaches. I would definitely recommend Hells Gates to anyone. read more

From the opening scene to the revealing of Heaven there is so much heart. It is an outside drama with several scenes guiding you from the rapture to meeting God in Heaven. Once you leave you will want to tell others. Can't wait for their 2016 production. read more
