I came on Tuesday to get my first wax , mind you I've never had one before. My first experience was dreadful and makes me never want to get a wax again. My aesthetician was Bianca , she was very rushy an not understanding that it was my first time. She rushed straight out the gate . She burnt me on multiple areas of my bikini areas , I told her multiple times it was to hot an was super painful but she didn't care at all n just kept basically shushing me saying it's normal. Also everytime she put the wax on she left it on for to long , so the wax kept having to be removed in 3-4 pulls which was absolutely painful. I'm absolutely bummed an traumatized at this point of getting a wax anywhere at this point . I've called multiple times no answer . read more

Let me start this off by saying I don't usually leave bad reviews.... I understand things happen and people make mistakes. It was my first time receiving a Brazilian and was a bit nervous and unsure what to expect. My Esthetician was super nice about it and reassured me it wasn't going to be that bad. I was wrong. The entire time i was writhing in pain and pretty vocal about how much it hurt but I pushed through it since I just wanted it to be over. She said everyone's pain threshold is different. Sure. After 45 minutes of excruciating pain it was finally done and I tipped 100% because i thought i was just being a baby. I waddled out of there and got home and for 24 hours it was NON STOP burning & was dark red the next day. I had one of my esthetician friends and a doctor look at it the day after and was informed that I received a SECOND DEGREE burn from how hot the wax was, then the sugaring on top of the burn... I will have permanent scarring now as well as a $200 doctor visit. I am beside myself. Mind you, this was right before my vacation where i planned on wearing a bikini quite a bit, but instead I wore shorts and couldn't go into the water because of the pain and the healing process. When I reached out to management they offered me a free service (no thank you), or a refund. My skin is permanently scarred and they just want to give me my $20 back. read more

Naomi was my wax lady this morning. She was able to squeeze me in which I really appreciated considering I'm very busy this week. I went in and out for a full Brazilian in less than 10 MINUTES!!! I love that! Naomi was professional and made me feel very comfortable. She was very thorough, too for how quickly she waxed me using both hard and soft wax. I was reached out to by the district manager Jennifer to "make it right". Yes she gave me a comped service but also asked me to update my review. So here is my update... I went from absolutely 0 communication about my appointments and getting reminders to them texting me 2 times to confirm (which I did) then and another one 30 minutes before my appointment to remind me of the cancellation policy to which I informed them that I have never cancelled without notice and that they are the ones that have cancelled on me. For them to ask (as I am on the table) if I want to cancel my appointment. Then after all is said and done Jennifer had confirmed when I spoke to her that I had already paid for today's service and my January service would be comped but no apparently she just comped todays service so to my confusion I have no idea what is going on with this company or where my money is even going.I adore the estheticians and receptionists but the company as a hole is an absolute disaster. And when all is said and done I informed Jennifer that I had an issue with a specific esthetician and she told me she was "no longer with the company" but when I went in today I was told that was not the case and she does in fact still work for hello sugar. So no my opinion of this company has not improved in the slightest because they will literally just tell you what you want to hear so that you will update your review. read more

Do not go here. I went to get a Brazilian wax and it was my first time with them. I decided to give them more chances and even try their membership. They have absolutely horrible management and whoever schedules their appt's are ridiculous. If you look at the photo attached, they do this ALL THE TIME. They will offer you an appointment and no matter how quick you reply (as you can see I responded within 1 minute) they will text you the next day and tell you they are booked for the day. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE. They do not honor their appointments and the only texting system is clearly not working for them. Unprofessional if you ask me. I kept texting them asking them who I needed to speak with and now they've gone silent. Seems like they don't care about costumer service. They don't even have someone in charge apparently. Makes you wonder how they'll take care of their costumers if something goes wrong. If I were you I wouldn't waste my time honestly, there's plenty of other places who take care of their costumers. read more

I recently moved out of state and the company will not return my calls about a reoccurring billing of a monthly subscription. I have called multiple times, left countless voicemails, and text messages about refunding a monthly subscription and no one will return my call, and they continue to bill me after I cancelled before moving out of state. I have been billed 49.99 since November 2019, after I called, cancelled and was promised refunds for the mistake. They still CONTINUE to bill me and I have not received a refund. Hi there I'm grateful you got back to me. I never received my full refund. I was told that they could only refund a small portion back to my card electronically. To then grant the full refund for the remaining months I was charged, Kai told me they would have to send a check in the mail for the full remaining balance. I was given a USPS tracking number in March for the remaining balance and I have not received the check. I had a manager Nichole contact me and said they would get back to me. It's been over a week and I still haven't heard back about the status of the check with my remaining refund. If USPS lost it then I don't understand why a new check cannot be issued. I understand with Covid19 there has been delays but this dates back to March and we're approaching July. read more

This is my go to salon for both eyebrow & Brazilian waxes. I have tried both sugaring and waxing but for me personally, sugaring isn't much different / better than waxing. I have met others that swear by it though so I definitely recommend trying it at least once or twice. I have tried several other places over the years and will continue to come back to Sugar Me Wax. While it is a small chain, you get that small salon feel which I LOVE. The staff at this location is my favorite (I have tried both Tempe & Arcadia), my brows are always on point. But with that being said, I haven't had a bad experience at the other salons just have a preference towards this one! read more

This place is so rude to clients that show up 5 minutes late. The traffic on Rural road is jam packed. They said I was 12 minutes late when in fact I was 5 minutes late. They have their clocks running ahead. Also there was no parking in front of there place of business so I had to park in the parking garage which made me late. Thanks for the great birthday present!! Went for a Brazilian and the aesthetician was extremely friendly and very helpful. The wax went very quickly which I was pleased about until I got home and realized she didn't wax my bikini line. There were still visible hairs here that clearly needed to go. At least I got the 50% off for first time wax, but I still had to wax myself when I got home to get rid of all that she missed.
