usually have really liked this place in the past but today's service unfortunately sucked. apparently your massage time starts the moment you swipe your credit card, not after briefly using the restroom & undressing for when they come in the room 10mins later (and stop a few minutes early) so my "90 minute" massage was more like 70-75. pretty sure the girl thought i fell asleep at one point because she spent probably 8 solid minutes rubbing the outside bone of 1 ankle. she left the room twice for towels &spent a ton of time just laying the wet towels on me. i told her my upper &lower back were giving me issues &then she spent most of the massage squeezing my legs which honestly often felt really uncomfortable but maybe that's my fault for just flinching and waiting for those parts to stop. she only rubbed the top bones of my feet, nothing on the bottom. just more and more little random things like that. the initial pressure on my upper back was really good but lasted all of 5-10mins & the hot stones were nice for the 2mins she used them. just a very mediocre massage & had the time cut short on top of it :\ when i brought up the timing to her at the end it didn't matter to her, she just asked for a tip and said next time ask for more time. really unfortunate that im probably gonna have to find a new local spot. read more

I have seen coupons for this massage place & decided to do a couples massage for my hun & I. I called to make a reservation for Saturday. It is located in the Trader Joe's shopping center, across from Better Buzz. We were in the same room with our heads facing each other. The first gal came in & asked my hun what pressure he wanted & I felt like his massage was more catered to. Then after maybe 10 minutes? My gal came in & just went for it without asking me anything. Thankfully, I like it deep & she did deep, but I wished she asked me what I wanted to focus on. I thought that since my girl came in late that I would be finishing after my fiancé, but we finished at the same time. The hot stones were very brief & they forgot to do aromatherapy. read more

Honestly, I had high expectations for this place based on the reviews. But the overall experience was mediocre at best. The BF and I had scheduled a 1hr couples deep tissue massage, walked in and was greeted by an older lady who spoke very little English. She asked us to pay first (I've never done this anywhere else) and failed to inform me there was going to be a $2 charge fee for using a card. I would have paid in cash had she told me. We walked into a room that lead into another room -- passed by an employee cupping her own shoulders lol. The massage beds were small and uncomfortable.. they were the perfect size for someone petite like me but the BF's legs were dangling off the bed (he's 6'1) so the masseuse had to use a small table as an extension. Also, they used paper towels for us to lay our faces on -- it felt scratchy and uncomfortable. In addition, the blanket was short and didn't cover my feet during the massage so my toes were freezing! Luckily the hot oil balanced it out, kind of. My massage was a 4/10 and the BF said his massage was a 6/10. He lucked out and had a better experience as his masseuse continued to ask how the pressure was, check if he's comfortable, etc. My lady didn't say anything and spoke very little English. She also left for 5 min to "get the towel and hot stones." Yet the BF's masseuse only took a min. I wish I got their names.. When we were on our way out we were trying to look for our massage therapists to hand them their tip, but the lady asked us to go to the hallway and she took the money. All in all, this place is a hit or miss and I don't plan on returning. read more

I was invited back for a chair massage since the last time I scheduled one at this location and after they had me prepay only to find out their chair was broken and I was unable to receive the chair massage. Lily greeted me and took me back at my scheduled appointment time. I noticed it was the same chair, but they made some adjustments to it and I was able to sit in the chair this time. It would not lock completely, but it was comfortable enough to sit for my 30 minute chair massage. Lily asked about the pressure and checked in multiple times to make sure it was still feeling good. She did an awesome job around my shoulders and the time flew by. I wish it would have included at least a minute on each arm, but overall for a targeted shoulder massage it felt really nice. read more

This is a difficult review to write because my experience here has been mixed. I have been coming to this location for quite some time and always specifically booked with Kelly, who is truly exceptional. She is the best massage therapist I've ever had -- highly skilled, intuitive, and knowledgeable in multiple massage techniques. I consistently left my sessions with her feeling significantly better, and she is the main reason I continued returning to this business. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was extremely upsetting. I had scheduled an appointment specifically with Kelly, but when I arrived, a different therapist, Ella, entered the room. I immediately explained that I had booked with Kelly. Instead of calmly clarifying the situation, Ella became defensive and increasingly hostile, insisting that I needed to proceed with the massage with her. When I politely stated that I did not want to receive a massage from her, her behavior became more aggressive and confrontational trying to tell me I booked with her not Kelly. It was ridiculous. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and chose to leave rather than continue the interaction. When I stepped outside the room, Ella was yelling in a language I did not understand to Kelly. I saw Kelly and explained that I had booked with her. I was then put on the phone with the receptionist (who was different from the usual receptionist I've spoken with in the past). I was told that I was not scheduled with Kelly, which was confusing, as booking with her was the sole reason for my visit and driving there. I made this very clear with the receptionist otherwise I would not have bothered coming if I could not do the appointment with Kelly. Based on the receptionist attitude with me I felt she was trying to push clients to Ella even though I had specifically requested Kelly. I had only spoken with the receptionist 30 minutes prior to my arrival, and she seemed to have suddenly got short term memory loss and forgotten our entire conversation about me scheduling with Kelly . Ultimately, Kelly was able to provide the massage as she was available. Today, when I called to schedule another appointment with Kelly, I was told that she is no longer working there. I asked if they could please let me know where she went, and I was told she had returned to China. This was extremely disappointing, as Kelly was the primary reason I continued coming to this business. Based on the aggressive, nasty behavior I experienced from Ella and the overall handling of these situations by this business I will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment. Professionalism, respect, and client comfort are essential in this type of business, and unfortunately, my last experiences did not reflect that. read more

I was thinking hmm.."could it be my black skin" hahaha. Quite frankly, I dont think black men are popular with Ella. I would've preferred her turn me away than to take my money, and proceed to do such a poor job at hiding her distaste. Second bad experience at Hello Massage with the same therapist!!When I checked in and realized I was scheduled with my prior massage therapist I cringed. Her massage technique is subpar that caused me pain afterwards for both treatments. I have scheduled here about 10 previous times with good results. My therapist was a younger woman and I cannot remember her name. More than half of the appointment was spent on my mid back. This is a sensitive area so to have constant pressure applied with mostly the elbow is painful and disappointing! The next day I am needing to take an anti inflammatory to help with my discomfort. I am frustrated that my lower back is in spasms and I feel worse than before my treatment. The prices are reasonable but not worth the cost for incompetently trained therapists. I am a huge advocate of holistic health with the majority of positive outcomes in massage therapy. read more

Update: I still frequent Hello Massage quite regularly and have been scheduling with Lily. She is excellent and seems to know the exact pressure required to work out all the knots. Lily also listens to where the problem areas are and isn't afraid to apply more pressure if requested. I highly recommend Lily and will continue to request her for my next visits. read more

I came in a few months ago and saw Sophia for a chair massage and she did such an incredible job, I felt like she really cared about making sure she relieved my pain and that she was hitting all the right spots. Had a Groupon and went in for a 60 minute massage. They were able to fit me in same day and the front desk manager was kind. The rest was kind of strange, though not bad. My appointment was at 3:30 and I showed up five minutes early. No one was at the front desk, but a lady peered out from the back and asked if I had an appointment. I said yes and then she disappeared. At 3:45 the manager walked in and got me set up in the room. Other places I've filled out a form and discussed with the therapist what areas I'd like worked on, avoided, etc. There was no discussion beforehand, the therapist walked in and just started going. About 1/3 of the massage was done over a towel, not a sheet, but a scratchy terry cloth towel. The therapist frequently readjusted the towel by completely lifting it off my body and replacing it so I was exposed multiple times. The massage was okay, but it felt like a friend giving a massage instead of a trained therapist. I'd say that about half of it felt really good, and the rest just felt like random pressure and rubbing. I was forcibly telling myself to try to relax the whole time so I wouldn't say I really got to enjoy it. Overall, I felt like the staff were trying to do their jobs well but it just wasn't what I was looking for. I likely won't return. read more

They do ask you to pay first before getting the massage, which is awkward if you are leaving a tip on your card (and don't know yet if it's any good). My bf tipped. The two ladies there don't speak English. When I asked what was the difference between the massages and what the Thai massage entailed they just pointed to the menu on the wall and couldn't t answer. I went for the fusion and my bf for the Thai. He got the good massage person I got the one that wasn't trained. They are not therapist, there is no way! My massage started with a back massage. It was ok, I grade it B- I was excited for when she was going to do my foot massage and oh my god , that was the worst foot massage I've ever had. Ever! Actually it was t a foot massage, it was a foot scrub! The whole time she scrubbed my feet in a freaking hurry. It wasn't slow, it was t rhythmic, it didn't feel good or relaxing. It was like the lady was in a hurry! It felt gritty and rushed and in now way I felt relax, I almost wanted to stop her but we had already paid! My bf said why didn't you tell her to slow down? Well because she can't understand me. He was lucky. He liked his massage. I'm not coming back. It was $120 plus tip for both of us and I left stiff and anxious when I left.
