Closed and I'm not surprised. I was a lifelong customer for about 10yrs at this location until I was treated poorly by management over a small matter. I have to accept some responsibility for not documenting, however I had developed great rapport with store over the years that came to an end with management turnover. It matters to me how people are treated and from that moment I decided to spend my dollars elsewhere and would go out of my way to avoid that location. I recently bought my 2nd Road Glide from Hellbender and it could not have been a better experience. The owner greeted me outside and was courteous and professional to the point I was surprised he was an owner. He introduced me to the salesperson, TJ, who showed me the exact model of bikes I was looking for. (Another Atlanta dealer actually tried to sell me different bikes....and I've been riding over 50 years!) The bikes all had prices on them (not all dealers are that professional and transparent), were clean, easy to set on; all the things that are important to a buyer. The price was fair and we agreed quickly. While they did the paperwork TJ introduced me to parts (had to buy some personalized upgrades), gear and clothing (got a free bag of bling), and service (scheduled some upgrade installations) and all were courteous and professional. These people were professional, fair, courteous and respectful and Hellbender will always be my "go to dealer". read more

I used to want to do business with this dealer. The sales and parts staff are phenomenal. They're the type of people you just like to go hang out and chat with. But! I've ridden a very long time and have been in the community a very long time. Since 1975 I've ridden in fact. I'm very familiar with bikes, bikers, and bike shops. I've been planning on buying my next bike from Hellbender because the sales staff are so damn awesome. Once you get into any Harley service department you are screwed. Hellbender in Great South Service Department's truly suck. This review will be for Hellbender. It is the faults of Hellbender Harley and Great South Harley that I missed a Memorial Ride for my Father. Hellbender because of what you'll read in this review; and Great South for just having the same AWFUL service department practices, who could have saved the day; but rather they put the cherry on top of an already very sad and loss laiden situation. (multiple familial deaths in two weeks) This year has been a challenging year with losses that I wouldn't wish on anybody. All that to say,those events and running my own business, it took me a couple months to get prepared to buy the bike I want. And HellBender has it, I finally got to the point of buying it; then this situation. I took my current bike into the Hellbender service department. I've been riding since 1975 and I know how to turn a wrench. Never worked on a Harley before so I replaced my bars. Not a big deal typically. However I didn't know I needed extended cables. Took me in an hour and a half as a first-timer to put my bars on. Yet when I took it to Hellbender service the snotty old service manager began to treat me like what's known as a RUB (rich Urban biker: an insult used by bikers who are mad you have what they do not, regardless of financial situation). He told me 8 hours of service and $1,300 just for labor to run cables through my new handlebars; and proudly proclaimed I'd need new controls too! Then he proceeded to insult me for the next 20 minutes while his service writer wrote the invoice up. He literally walked around the waiting room and went outside talking s*** about the guy who didn't wire his handlebars properly(me). What he didn't know several of the people outside were friends of mine from a local club. They'll testify this as well. He went into the waiting room and told a Mom and a 10 year old boy that I'd messed up and now needed him to fix it. They'll testify to it as well. I made sure I connected with all these people because I've never experienced something like this any motorcycle service shop ever. So we can put it on the record if we need to. Unfortunately when I asked Hellbender to rectify the situation they went silent. As nice as they were on the front side, in the sales and service department they didn't have the backbone on the back side to stand up for customer. Wasn't, and am not seeking any discounts or special treatment at all mind you. I don't know what they were thinking, but the actions of the service manager intimates to me that they don't want my business. So they're not going to get it. Harley-Davidson corporate and their dealers truly seem to dislike new and old customers alike. Find a bike mechanic that doesn't work at a dealer. Harley service is to be avoided at all costs. Because it will cost you more. You'll pay the Harley tax, and you'll likely have to put up with a really snotty shop manager who talks down to you. Shame he does that from inside the safety of his four walls. In the end, I took it apart again to find the issue was a pinched cable. Sad. My Father road his entire life, introduced me to it in 1975. He was also an Army Veteran. A local Veteran's motorcycle club arranged memorial ride for my father. I could not ride in that event to honor my father because Hellbender and Great South Harley couldn't get their Acts together. They shouldn't be in business. They are not good people. read more

Let me start with the fact that we found a bike we loved and we felt like we couldn't pass up the opportunity. Let me follow that by saying that had I have known the headaches we would have had with this Harley location from July 2020 until December 2020, we would have passed it up in a second and waited for another bike. I'm not hard to get along with. I have been in customer service for 11 years and I know the typical Karens and how they can make your day awful. I don't do that. So read the following knowing that I was trying so hard to be understanding. 1) they let a random man, not employed by Harley walk off with our key fobs before we actually signed papers on this bike. He stole them right from the bench in front of the building after the salesman left them unattended outside. They took WEEKS to fix this. They drug their feet in ordering another ECM. Not much effort was put forth until I finally got upset seeing as how almost 3 weeks had rolled by and we still didn't have a fully operational bike and the damn thing still hasn't been delivered, yet the first payment was going to come due very soon. Lie after lie, broken promises one after the other, and zero effort to actually reach out to me or my husband to rectify anything until we had to make call after call just to find anything out. They kept saying it would be weeks before they could fix the problem it miraculously found another ECM in Newnan at another Harley location they went and got. Nevermind the fact that we didn't get our barrel keys for the bike until October. 2) the day we ordered our bike, we also ordered parts. Knowing Covid had slowed down processing and shipping times, we expected them in a month or so. We unfortunately went ahead and paid for labor when we paid for the parts. The plan (when the parts came in a few weeks) was to ride the bike up there, Uber to lunch, Uber back and take the bike home. Nobody ever called. Weeks went by, I called multiple times checking on the arrival status. I'd call on a Monday, they would say the parts were set to deliver the next Monday. I'd wait a week and call back. They would then say the parts are another week out. Finally the day came and our parts arrived months later. We had waited so long, I asked for Harley gift cards in place of the labor we had already paid for because let's face it, their location has proven to be sub par for the world of Harley. The guy I spoke to at the time (Juan) said he would have to check with the GM (Matt) and he wouldn't be back until the following week. Nobody ever called me back. No surprise. My husband went to get the parts (3 months after ordering them), Juan again told him he was checking on the gift cards in place of our labor payment, and when we got the parts to our bike mechanic, they didn't order everything they said they did. We were missing parts despite the fact that we both sat down with THEIR MECHANIC and told him exactly what we wanted. Saddlebag guard bars are apparently too complicated for them to get right on the first order. Husband returns, they basically told him it is what it is and he would have to pay for the additional parts. I wouldn't have and I was furious when I found out he did, but it was yesterday (December 12) when we got the parts from them, because it was no surprise they NEVER called to say they had arrived. So here we are, with parts to install and out a significant amount of money for labor because their location is ran by such a pompous crew of irresponsible and unprofessional clowns that we can't get anywhere with them. I'll be filing a lengthy complaint with Harley about this location and with any luck, they'll shut the place down. The building is ratty and run down and the employees are such a pain in the ass to deal with. November 2014 I ordered a 2015 road glide and purchased the service plan along with Gap insurance which was rolled into my loan. I called for my bike to be picked up for its last prepaid 10k mile service they informed me that it had expired which I was never told about, reminded of, sent a letter about or anything.. now they want to charge me $638 to do the same service that I've already paid for, manager called me and basically said they could do nothing for me since I haven't been spending money with them in the last two years. Dirty dirty!! I will gladly go to Cartersville or Atlanta Harley for all my future needs!! read more

Not the easiest place to find, as the Harley Davidson network updates it will probably get better. Their bike and gear selection is good, and the dealer theme is well thought out. They've gotten a few awards for their sponsored team and they uphold the military discount. However I was surprised that the thought of outstate bikers visiting for chips, pins, and dealer tees was a seemingly foreign concept to the sales staff. read more

I had a very bad experience with the sales team. Their so called sales Head , she was super arrogant and was very rude in her words. i was requesting for lease and really wanted to understand the difference between lease and financing. keeping in mind lease gives me little breathing space. They came with with all fancy number for a 2014 fat boy , total price bumped up from 12000 to 17500 , with their service charges for 3 years. Now. The fun part is for lease they asked me 313 $ for moth for 48 months, which nearly comes to 16 k. and then i have to pay another 6k to purchase it or else walk away. The same thing will be for financing. They knew nothing about leasing. and i clearly told , i was looking for long lease and expect my monthly payment to be 160-180$ per month. For which she "rudely replied, i mean that is lot of money you know what i mean. I wish i could give all our fat boys and other HD motorcycles for same". She was giving a bad wicked smile to that to mention those words very nicely but with those very harsh intentions. The first guy who helped me was Mr Justin Spradling , he was nice gentleman , who took all time to discuss and understand my exact need of motorcycle. If the management reads , bring such guys to the sales head department , not that lady who is out there. The very next supervisor of Justin , i don't remember his name. he too was very bad in convincing a customer for new deals. He was explaining me , HD is HD and cars are cars. when you buy HD you are buying luxury. Dude what you mean by this. Very bad attitude to the customers . It's hard to say something about a HD dealership where I've probably bought 6?or so bikes from in the last 10 years. Maybe that's not being fair, because it goes back to when Earl Smalls was alive, and after his death when Mark Hulsey was the next owner. God Bless them both and R.I.P. They're gone and Hulsey's family owns this location and the one in Cartersville (bought several there, too). Wanting to buy a new Harley, I had gone by Atlanta HD when I was in their area, which was a major waste of my time. Later that day, I was near Hell Bender, so stopped by to look at softails. When you're in a HD dealer for 15 minutes and no one says a word to you or looks at you, the dealer has serious personnel issues. During that short time, I saw 3 salespeople laughing and talking to a gentleman, who was seated, which I suspect was a manager or sorts (in name only I assure you). Realizing that they apparently thought I was a waste of their time (and after 15 minutes I KNEW I was wasting MY time). I left... Big changes here... NOT what I had expected and I sure wasn't going to beg them to sell me a HD. The next day I headed to Killer Creek in Roswell, hoping my business would be appreciated. Having bought a HD Ultra Classic from them before, I sort of knew what to expect. Their owner, Dan Sullivan is a straight up guy and runs a reasonable business. I bought a new softail and was treated reasonably well and with respect and courtesy. I guess some HD dealers can be hit or miss, but it's better to find out before hand and go somewhere else. The worst service department / customer service experience ever... If I could give it half a start I would. I was told by one service consultant they could do a simple tire change and the day the work was scheduled to be completed the other guy Michael said he couldn't do it. Lack of communication and setting the wrong expectations with customers. I would not recommend these guys at all. Its a very small dealership, very few bikes.... you would be better served going to Killer Creek HD in Alpharetta or Atlanta HD on Thornton rd. read more

The sales team was rude and deceptive. They would talk you up and offer great rates and incentive. Got to the point where they asked me to do a "soft credit check" on me and I confirmed with them it wasn't a hard check as that would effect my credit. Turns out they pulled a hard credit check and all the incentives disappeared. I have excellent credit with responsible accounts of 10+ years. They offered me 9% APR (when they were offering me 1% before) telling me my monthly payments would be super low. I am not an idiot, so I just left. read more

Great location merchandise staff was friendly and very helpful. Store was very clean merchandise was displayed nicely. Sale/Clearance items clearly displayed and marked. Service Department was absolutely amazing. We damaged the parking brake backing our TriGlide out of trailer. Stopped in Hellbender to see about getting it fixed. The service writer came out to look at it, he said it was covered by warenty but would take a couple of hours to get it through service. He knew we were in a hurry as we were on vocation. So he came out and fixed it himself for us so we could get back to our campsite before an approaching storm hit. He saved the day! read more

Selling Price: $14,795.00 Stock Number: 2940 Year: 2011 Make: Harley-Davidson® Model: VRSCDX - V-Rod® Night Rod® Special Family: V-Rod VIN: 1HD1HHH11BC802940 Color: Black Denim w/Pinstripe Mileage: 31,925 Given the mileage, I thought price was ridiculous. A couple thousand more and you have a brand new bike. I tried to negotiate the price down to something more realistic, and they wouldn't budge. Fast forward one week later, I go to check out another Night Rod at a different dealer (non-Harley). It was a 2009 Night Rod Special with 1,500 miles on it! They wanted 12,999 but I got them to come down to 12,200 with a 1 year warranty thrown in. So I've got my Night Rod. And guess what...TO THIS DAY January 30, 2014, Earl Smalls/Hellbender STILL have that same Night Rod for sale at that same ridiculous price....almost 7 months later. I went out if my way to find this location. I'm out here on business and I always get shirts and stuff when traveling. I didn't feel welcome or wanted in this place. Even after making eye contact with a staff member I still wasn't greeted. One guy walked right past me and didn't say a word although he looked at me. I don't want to assume why they ignored me but I will tell you that they will not get my business or any recommendations from me. This is the first Harley Dealership I have ever left without spending money (my wife would be so proud of me) I normally drop at least a $100 or more. Thanks for letting me save money on this trip you snobbish creatures. The fact that your team is so rude and inattentive is a direct reflection of the leadership in this establishment. How can you walk past someone and not speak? Did I mention when I walked in there were two gentlemen by the front door which saw me come in and continued there conversation as if they were talking with a customer and not one acknowledged the fact I just entered your dealership. On a recent visit to the Smyrna showroom to shop for a bike. I was ignored for 20 minutes while 3 salesmen were in conversation with another customer. They were very nonchalant about it and not customer friendly. They were actually almost rude without being aware of it. (possibly). The used bike showroom was closed and they were short staffed so we had to wait for someone to go down and open it up. We ended up going in the back of the building and looking at bikes with limited visibility. I won't visit again. read more

I'm not a Harley rider, but I love their clothes and boots. There is definitely a few flaws at the store as far as customer service. I've been once and never got greeted and actually walked around with my son for 30 minutes shopping in Motorclothes before anyone even attempted to come ask if we needed help and it wasn't like the store was busy because there was plenty of sales people standing or sitting around. At that point we were done shopping, but I will say if my purchase had depended on being helped I would have not purchased the items that day. However, on a different day I went in to pick up a pair of boots I had ordered and Hannah was extremely nice. She even helped my friend pick out a pair of sunglasses while I tried on the boots. So I would say it's definitely a hit or miss on the customer service aspect when it comes to in-store purchases. Again, not sure about if I was to purchase a bike how customer service would be, but just the whole atmosphere needs customer service work. I will say I have inquired about the New Rider Class and received helpful information from Jeff and Lee so it's not all the workers that need customer service classes, just some. read more

I used to visit this place when it was Earl Smalls and it was great. However, I recently called Hellbender and spoke to a guy in service name Dylan, who sounded very unenthusiastic. I was calling to get a 10k mile service quote on my 2006 Softail Deluxe. He was reading out of the service manual to me which items I needed to have done during this service. I informed Dylan that I have my owner's manual in front of me. He then asked why I was asking if I already knew what was going to be performed. After finally getting a quote I stated it was high. This 'gentleman' decided to make the comment that if I wanted inexpensive service I should have bought a metric motorcycle. Will not use this dealership again. read more

I took my show bike in for a service. They did a fair job, mostly. They suggested replacing the clutch cable. Well, they replaced it with one at least 8 inches too long and not one tie to the frame, not through the handlebars at all.
