Such a bright, airy and spacious studio. I love the full floor-to-ceiling windows that let in beautiful natural light. Took my first class (ever, with a reformer) with Nina, and she was an incredible, approachable and easy-to-follow instructor. I loved that she gave a variety of challenges and suggestions for different kinds of movement depending on your skill or if you wanted to try something harder (she kicked my butt!). I would definitely come back to take another class with her. I had never tried reformer Pilates, but the machines they have at Helios are intuitive and easy to figure out, and Nina helped explain anything else that might have been tricky. Good music selection for the workout as well, thought it was the perfect volume, not too loud, could hear everything Nina said while also not it being awkwardly quiet during the workout. read more

This is my absolutely fav Pilates studio in San Diego. I have been coming here for over 2 weeks and I love every single time I go to class. I started with the unlimited one week which costs 50 dollars plus tax. It allows you to go the whole week. There's plenty of times you can choose from. It's located in little Italy and the studio is beautiful! It's super pretty and very aesthetic. It's new barely opened last year. Even their bathroom is super cute. Very spacious and the neutral colors are amazing. I just became a member. I chose the unlimited membership is 285 a month and you can go every single day if you want. All the instructors are great but I do have a fav one and her name is Marie her classes are super amazing & fun she has a beautiful personality. I go with my sisters and mom and we are extremely happy. We feel stronger every day! And we are loving this new studio. read more

Had a friend bribe me with coffee into taking a pilates class here which I didn't realize was a high intensity class on an X-reformer but it was well worth it and I enjoyed every minute despite causing an earth quake in the class with all my shaking LOL Shout out to Marie for working me harder than a bootcamp punishment in the military! I don't take pilates classes that often so this was my first time using an x-reformer and Marie took the time to show me how it all worked before the class started which was super helpful. The instructors here are so kind and welcoming. The studio is really clean I appreciate how much natural light was coming in. 10/10 recommend starting off your weekend mornings with a class here. I've been going to Helios for 6 months and it is my favorite studio! The instructors are incredibly kind and help give you variations when you have those days where the pilates flow is challenging. The studio is clean, well kept, and easy to find. They have a cubby area to put your belongings in during class. This is a great pilates/lagree studio! I really like how the instructors approach the classes. The music is at the perfect volume (not blasting so you can hear the instructors!) I think it's great they focus on all different muscle groups as well and not just one particular focus. I really like how you can adjust the largree machines so the handle bars can face outwards for other exercises and stretches. Also, random, but their weights are also nice because they're easy to grip onto and since they're not metal, they don't leave you with that metallic smell on your hands. read more

I haven't done any sort of Pilates in a year but decided to take on a class and fell back in love with it! Love the bright and natural light from the studio which also looks super sleek and modern. I came in on a rainy day and was still given a mini tour of the studio and received help from my instructor Mallory! She was great and the class was easy to follow. Their grip socks are adorable that I definitely want to grab a pair next time. The space is calming, and the location is off of the busy streets of Bankers Hill, but I still had to find some street parking. I would most likely book again whenever I can! read more

Advanced is definitely challenging but sometimes you want that challenge! The only thing that sucks is the parking. I've tried quite a few Pilates studios in San Diego, from the franchises to others locally owned, and this one just hits different. Allured by the natural light in the studio, but staying for the hardcore workouts and great instructors. I always look like a baby giraffe learning how to walk the day after, but it's so worth it. As a queer woman who has dealt with being misgendered, being called outside of my chosen name, and looked at so someone can assess if I'm really a girl at other studios... Helios has been refreshing. This was my first time taking a Pilates class and my experience here was great! Mallory was the instructor and she was so sweet. She showed me around the studio, helped me get familiar with the equipment, and was very attentive throughout class. She would come by when I needed help and was very encouraging. The class I did was small and we went at a reasonable pace. I didn't feel like I was completely lost or falling behind. I took the earliest class available and there was plenty of street parking. I moved to San Diego three months ago and my sister introduced me to Helios so I could mix up my regular lifting routine. My stability and core have improved immensely, and I completely credit Helios for that! The studio itself has been designed really tastefully as well. I've taken classes with all the instructors, and they're each great in their own way. The best part about Helios is the sense of community. Everyone shares a goal of personal growth and there is a vibe of camaraderie amongst a lot of the regulars that I've become good friends with from class! 10/10 recommend! This was my first time trying Lagree after doing Pilates on and off for a year. It was super challenging and definitely left me sore. I took the class with haley and she is super sweet, and the girls there even started conversations. They explain everything really well for first-timers, and I think their pricing is fair, especially for being in downtown it's hard to compete with compared to other studios.
