I cannot recommend this program strongly enough! Shannon helps you be what you want to be. I am the…read moresame person I was before her program - yet simultaneously completely different. I had been on an exhaustive 10-year career search, looking for a position that fit others' expectations of where I should be next . . . Not realizing that the career I was already making for myself, was most closely aligned with my values, beliefs, and desire to live a balanced, yet well-paid life that puts my happiness, and presence for my children first. (As Shannon put it, I am like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz - in that I didn't need to "look any further than my own back yard.") I wanted clarity over the future direction of my career, and to get to where I want to be. This goal was met due to the expert advice of Shannon. My product and brand has been strengthened, and I am much more mindful and intentional about the career decisions I make. Shannon listens, then reminds you what you said is important to YOU, rather than fit you into a cookie-cutter program. I wholeheartedly recommend the Whole U. process.

I'd hire a professional to fix my car, or operate on my heart... so I'd certainly hire a pro to guide my way to my new career. Working with Shannon helped me set up a road map to reach my goal. I learned how to: write a 21st-century resume, re-do my LinkedIn page, and I learned (again) that there's no time like the present to start the first step toward my goal. I learned that my goal isn't ridiculous and could actually provide a huge benefit to people. I really appreciate the holistic approach to Whole U. advising services. Everything in this world is interconnected, whether one believes that in a spiritual or scientific way, and one's career is not excluded from that.

I found Kim Childs by doing a Google Search for Life Coaches near me. I had been floundering for a…read morefew years, and grew to be very unhappy with the stagnation in my life after the COVID-19 pandemic. My husband's coworker talked about how he had worked with a life coach in middle age to help him figure out his next steps after an intercontinental move to the US. I read Kim's website and noticed she was associated with Kripalu, is a former yoga instructor, and I was intrigued. I read a bit of her blog and decided to email to set up an introductory phone call. I felt like we connected on the call. She was lighthearted, but helped me move forward with action items in just that one phone call. Before our first meeting, I was really nervous. I didn't know what she would be like in person (I can pick up on other people's energy very easily), but I was soon at ease as I realized she is a kind and thoughtful person, who is also joyful and positive. She is spiritual, and educated, with an "East Meets West" style of coaching. During my three months working with her I explored more opportunities than I have in a decade on my own. Having biweekly meetings held me accountable, but gave me time in between sessions to accomplish our collaboratively created goals. If I didn't accomplish everything, that was fine. We would discuss what I didn't do and decide whether to add it to the next to do list or drop it. She taught me how to better read my intuition when making decisions, and to clear negative beliefs that were holding me back. I now have a path forward to explore several interests, and I have the tools Kim taught me to use along the way. She also referred me to an amazing acupuncturist/reiki master when I expressed interest in energy healing (this alone was worth a million dollars). Working with Kim for three months has been more effective in changing my life than five years of therapy. I urge anyone who is on the fence to take the leap and explore whether she is a good fit. The worst that will happen is she's not the right fit for you; the best that will happen is Kim Childs will change your life!

Her bio spoke…read moreto me (I adore The Artist's Way!), and as amazing as she sounded in Yelp reviews...she's even better in person (or zoom as the case may be!) It sounds cliche, but we worked together for 6 weeks and it totally turned me around in a better direction. If you are really ready to work at making a change in your life, Kim is an incredible guide - warm, creative, empathetic and full of great ideas. The best investment I could make in myself!

No joke, Alex is magic. I have been going to yoga therapy 1-on-1 with Alex as a client now for over 2 years, and rave about her and the YT approach to anyone who will listen when I get the chance. I leave sessions feeling connected to my inner voice and wisdom in a way that I never did in traditional psycho/talk therapy. I leave feeling physically and spiritually transformed - like I have actually moved stuck energy or emotional pain around and then out of my body while learning from it too, with her support. And her support is not just complimentary: I truly would not be able to access my inner teachings and wisdom in the way I do without her loving presence and healing touch. (And re: healing touch - this woman is the *embodiment* of :healing hands" people, for real. Their energy and warmth are unparalleled in my experience.) I have referred my best friend, her friend, and my 2 roommates to her as well, and have encouraged countless others to go. My roommates and I literally joke at my house that she is our "family therapist" we love her so much. If you are newer to body-based therapies I would strongly recommend buying a package of 3 - 5 sessions at front, to allow yourself to really experience it and "try it on" before deciding whether or not this is a modality that works for you. And it's okay if it doesn't! That said, yoga therapy is an innovative and cutting edge approach to therapy that really integrates all the knowledge we now have about the centrality of the mind-body connection in the healing and self-actualization process, and Alex is truly at the forefront of this field in her skill, experience and mentorship. May all who are willing and curious seek and find her medicine! Or for the more skeptical and less new agey, at least "give it a shot." :)

Class participants with varying degrees of physical ability (from people with physical limitations to super-advanced yogis) can relax in the poses and rest into deep silence.
