Acupuncture has helped it significantly, but even those treatments have reached a plateau. After just one session with Polina, she was able to nip it in the bud via a trigger point release, which no massage therapist has ever done before. It felt like she was pushing the knot away, ironing it smooth, but very pleasant and not torturous as I've experienced before with other therapists. Turns out, it's an adhesive tissue, probably from years of not addressing it properly. I have trained in massage techniques and multiple healing therapies and have gone to internationally renown body workers throughout my twenty year career for work on my own body - more recently for healing with major spinal injuries and tissue repair. Irina is one of the few people in the world I have found who can read the body inside out, offer intense immediate relief AND longer term repair, guiding the body back to healthy rejuvenation, fluid use, and tissue growth. Irina has a true gift, she reads the body and works so intensely, so consciously along each strand of fascia and releases nerves balled up in scar tissue then deeply contacting muscle strands and tracing them from first connection along the entire length - never losing contact. My own "use" could not really shift it turned out, until the sticky scar tissue had a chance to let go -then the clumped up muscles had a chance to lengthen - and finally my skeleton had room to reach upward again, and I could return to my practice of a conscious opening and letting go. My spine had (I thought) shrunken over those years a whole inch, due to disk damage, but the next time my height was measured I was back to full height (6months later still retained that freedom Irina had brought me). The session she released fascia deep around and under my occipital joint - I could actually feel the brain stem pulling restricted and finally, release - it was as if her hands were actually deep inside the skull - I could feel the blood flow and spinal fluid rush in, my thoughts cleared, and ongoing cluster headaches / migraines I'd almost forgotten were there they were so constant, washed away. Pain I'd become accustomed to for several years, coursing throughout my entire neuro-muscular system was gone. This enormous freedom happened in a single one hour session. Just had a structural integration session with Michael today. I had been experiencing some pain in…read moremy wrists and shoulders as well as general aches and pains from being physically active. The session began with a detailed intake form. Michael has a calm, patient way about him and is a good listener. I like that Michael took time to carefully ask questions about my health, rather than rushing into session like so many other places do. Once the session began, Michael did a postural analysis and assessment of my muscles, range of motion, etc. Michael was able to pick up things that I wasn't even aware of. Michaels method of working each area of contention was pretty remarkable and I've worked with a lot of different body workers. I also like that Michael checked in with me throughout the session to make sure I was comfortable. Once the session was over I saw and felt RESULTS. My range of motion improved and the general soreness had been alleviated to some extent. I'm going to be booking another session with Michael in the future as this type of body work definitely builds with each session.
