Clean cozy environment, this local restaurant serves a daily breakfast special and lunch special menu. This place is a 3-person restaurant. The owner and chef, another lady who is server, and a 3rd lady who helps clear the tables and does the dishes. We were tired from walking around Peng Chau and a local referred us to this wonderful local spot. We found a seat right away. The owner recognized that we're tourists and recommended some rice dishes and lunch special to us. We opted for : * Bitter melon with spare ribs with black bean sauce, served over steamed rice + drink for $45HKD (+$2 for cold drink) -- very good! Rice was cooke perfectly! Bitter melon was cooked a bit on the crunchy side-- how I like it and the spare ribs were moist and tender. The best part was the black bean sauce.. not too salty and so good when you mix it with the perfectly cooked rice. * Steamed chicken over rice. Lunch special. $45HKD includes a drink. Again, the perfectly cooked rice is the highlight for this dish. Coupled with perfectly cooked steamed chicken with ginger sauce and soy sauce... so simply yet so delish!!!! Overall a great experience at this restaurant with great value. Awesome simple food that hits the spot!

The hostess will ask if you want to be seated inside or outside. HK humidity is no joke. No way would I be able to sip a hot one outside. The AC inside is perfect even with the open entrance. Here is what we ordered: - Longan Honey Latte (iced & hot) - Black Sugar Latte (hot) All of our drinks were excellent as was the service. Great place to relax and chit chat with your friends. Was served three ricotta pancakes ($118 hkd) with blueberries, syrup and bananas. Although the portion was small, the fluffiness of the pancake and light sweetness of the syrup made the dish de-lish! If you go before 11am on mon-fri you get a choice of one of four drinks- i opted for the lemon tea with charred lemons (makes a big difference!!). They also had mint infused water near the bar area, and a separate two floor area for seating, accessible by walking out and around the left corner into a separate below space. Mason jar lights dangle from the ceiling and a light teal wall and yellow flowers brightens the room. My friend and I sat here for a little over an hour sketching the space. They give you a buzzer that beeps when ur food is ready for pick up- my pancakes took around 20 min, as there was a group of 5 in front of me. The bathrooms clean, the service is good, and their playlist is indie coffeehouse! Not crowded on a Monday around 10. A great place!

It's a bit of a novelty food. They're large, they're slightly more bouncy since they make them themselves, and they absorb a bit more flavor if they've had it sitting in the sauce/broth longer. This was my favorite meal on my entire trip to Hong Kong, a city where Michelin-starred restaurants…read moreare a dime a dozen. A little hole in the wall, a seafood restaurant that doesn't sell seafood...wait, what was that? Ah Shun does not sell seafood. No - they *cook* seafood. You supply the seafood. I came quite nervous about all this; I don't know Cantonese very well and I don't know the area. And yet, it was all so simple. One of the owners simply escorted me to the local fish market, and together we filled up two bags of live fish, shrimp, and clams (approx. $100). Back at the restaurant, I just took a seat as the cooks did their thing, turning out three excellent, simple dishes (approx. $200). The experience was both surreal and comforting, and made the trek to Cheung Chau the most memorable day of the trip. If I could, I would go here again and again!

When I saw the word 'brekkie', I immediately thought of Australia - it means 'breakfast' in their lingo. I'm thinking this cafe is possibly be Australian inspired :) This dish was prepared by the lady behind the counter with a small portable stove. I can feel the love as she delicately prepares this for us! We also ordered the Lavender Latte and the Matcha Magic. What is a Matcha Magic you ask? It is a Matcha Latte with a shot of espresso! Perfect for those who loves Matcha but also needed that caffeine boost lol. The Lavender Latte, surprisingly, does not have the usual overpowering lavender kick... it was very light and soothing. Recommendation: Would Why50 consider making a Lavender Mocha? ^^ Chocolate actually goes well together with the lavender taste ;) Keep up the great work!

It was dead empty except for two other tables (one with two tourists and the other with a local man...I assume). Two other tourists sat down during my brunch but read the menu and left. I ordered the waffles with ham and it came with a side salad. The food was OK. It was an HK take on western food and the waffles came plain with no topping so it was a little bit dry for my North American palette. Towards the end of my meal I discovered a live slug in my salad. I flagged the waitress to ask for the bill (because I was NOT going to continue eating) and showed her the slug. She said "oh sorry" but that was about it. She did not offer any kind of compensation and brought me the full bill with no further explanation or apology for the slug. It was like it didn't happen. As mentioned before this place was empty for brunch. However, in the late, late afternoon/early evenings I noticed it would be packed. Perhaps this place is better for coffee and dessert. One other thing to mention is they have free wifi but when you ask for the password they won't give it to you. They will insist they enter it on your phone themselves. I don't generally like strangers touching my phone because I don't know what they may do. I guess they have never thought of changing the wifi password daily... Tip: Don't sit next to the plants. It's fruit fly city.
