I saw this shop here on Yelp and decided I wanted to stop in and check it out. I had never been…read morehere before and really didn't know too much about it other than what I saw and read online. In one of the pics I saw a little beehive Christmas ornament so thought I would go check it out (my mom is bee anything crazy). I wasn't sure where the GPS was taking me but once I saw the beatiful mural on the side, I knew where I was heading. Really friendly staff and some really cute gifts here. I was promptly greeted when I came in and was offered some coffee or water. I had to pass as it was a quick stop but I really liked the vide here. The shop had a bit of everything including clothing, candles, jewelry, and all sorts of gifts including some gorgeous drinking glasses. Definitely worth browsing just to check it all out. Overall, it looked like the general price point is on the higher end but nothing too outrageous for a boutique shop. I did find the ornament I saw in the picture but I know my mom already has the same one, or one that could pass off as its twin anyway. So many cute gifts and would totally visit again even though I didn't find something this trip. I really had to resist buying something just to buy it (holidays and all) but they have so much cute stuff.

From beautiful cloths to jewelries to home décor and much more. They carry various high end brands, which explains the price tag. But everything I came across was top quality. The staff will leave you alone to look around but if you need it, they will give you their undivided attention. Super friendly and knowledge staffs.  Also, there is ample parking outside of the store.

How do I love Ladybird? Let me count the ways…read more.. 1. a great range of price points. (I've gotten a denim jacket for $70 and a dress for $140...there are shirts for $25)... 2. an eclectic mix of style (vintage and rocker chic, well-known designers and up-and-coming fashion labels) 3. allison is fun, helpful and has a fabulous sense of style (she'll give you her honest opinion rather than try to sell you a dress just to make money) 4. and you can't beat the location. I had really high hopes for Ladybird in the Short North. My best friend and I stopped in today and…read moreimmediately loved the selection--the clothes are adorable, stylish, and chic, and we were genuinely considering purchasing several items. Unfortunately, the customer service was a completely different story. It's a very small boutique, yet we were never acknowledged--not a hello, not an offer to help, nothing. Meanwhile, the manager/owner appeared completely occupied with another woman who dominated the conversation at length about having so many clothing options that she couldn't decide what to wear to an upcoming event. We browsed for quite a while and were fully prepared to spend money, but after being completely ignored, we ultimately decided to leave. For a small boutique, the personal shopping experience should be part of what makes you want to shop there rather than online or at a larger retailer. The merchandise at Ladybird was lovely, but unfortunately the lack of even basic acknowledgment made us feel as though our business simply wasn't important. Such a shame, because we really wanted to love this store.

I've visited a…read morecouple of times over the past few years, but they recently moved down the street into a new store front and I was excited to check out the new space. I was in need for a new dress to wear to a wedding and I didn't have any luck at the Easton shops I had visited. So, I stopped by on a Friday afternoon after a meeting close by. The moment I walked in I was greeted right away by a friendly young lady. She was quick to offer me a dressing room and any assistance if need be. The space is open and has tons of natural light. The clothing options were definitely spring/summery, and I found several options to try on. To my surprise I found exactly what I was looking for. I ended up going with a champagne slip style of dress and it only cost me about $60 with tax and everything. Really affordable prices, especially for a nice dress. It's beautiful, good quality, and it's perfect for the occasion. I will absolutely be back!

You might have missed Savvy on a Shoestring the last time you were in the Short North, and that's…read morenot surprising. The store is located just off of High on First Avenue, and the only reason we spotted the tiny clothing store was because of a sign that read "Designer Clothes at 'Knock Off' Prices". There was one more thing that caught my eye on that sign, the part that read sizes went up to 20! I'm not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination, but maybe it's because as a plus size girl I find it really difficult to find name brand clothing in my size that doesn't look like a floral print potato sack. Savvy on a Shoestring is small, with a couple hand fulls of outfits in each size category. Some of the brands I hadn't heard of, but I did notice a fantastic Vera Wang dress on display. Clothing ranges from business, active wear, evening dresses and accessories in the form of handbags and sunglasses. The lady behind the counter was pleasant to talk to and I told her how happy I was that they carried plus size clothing. She said both her and the owner were larger women, so they tried to look after us curvy girls. However, due to a lack of interest (or perhaps a lack of knowledge) from their customer base, they were going to start scaling back their plus size line. Don't let this happen, Columbus! I just found this great treasure of a store!

I've always been curious about Savvy, but they're only open on Saturdays. You don't hear much about…read morethem. They keep a pretty low profile. The store is also tucked on a side street behind Grandview Mercantile. These factors add up to one thing: me forgetting that Savvy exists. But one of my friends went in recently, and she couldn't stop raving about the place. She put three or four things on hold, all major name designers like Versace, Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana...Everything is offered at a huge discount. You can find a $400 pair of jeans selling for $40. I don't know how they do it, but they do. So, this past Holiday Hop, I made it a point to stop in. The store was small but full of clothing neatly arranged on racks by size. Personally, I couldn't find anything that was my style. Everything looked like it was selling to an older crowd. They had a bit of everything from sweat suit jumpers to skirts, blouses, and rain boots. There weren't many duplicate pieces. The workers were nice and had York Peppermint Patties for us. If you're a label whore, give Savvy a peek. It's oddly affordable in a neighborhood full of $200 sweaters.
