When I picked the bike up it was as good as new - everything I needed done was completed and they went over all the things they did in gory detail. It was exactly what I needed to hear to have piece of mind. Maybe this is overkill for most people, but I think it is good to know for people like myself but also for people with more simple bike needs that by coming here you will have people looking after your bike who really care about doing a great job whether you need an overhaul on your race bike or just a tire replaced on your commuter bike.

Details of the timeline and my…read moreexperience are below, but the summary is - I'd suggest you find another place to mount bindings. Erik's, in my experience, is not skilled at this task. Timeline: December 10 - brought Season powder skis and Marker bindings into Erik's. I bought these skis/bindings from Evo.com (online ski retailer) as a compatible combo. December 11 - I received a call asking me for my proof of purchase for the bindings after the Erik's ski tech cracked what they referred to as the "Clamor" part of the bindings, and they needed to contact Marker to get a replacement. December 13 - I was informed that the mounting failed, which left holes in the skis in the location where the ski manufacturer recommends bindings be mounted. Erik's staff asked if I was OK re-mounting my bindings in a different location on the skis, and the previous holes epoxied. I informed Erik's that I was not OK with this, and we agreed that Erik's would replace the skis. December 22 - Erik's confirmed the replacement skis were at the store, and the replacement Marker bindings parts were as well. I was informed that my bindings were going to be mounted by the Erik's ski tech who does all the training in order to reduce risk of mounting issues during the next attempt. January 5 - I was informed my skis were ready. January 6 - I picked up my skis, and was charged the full amount for the mounting of my bindings despite the time and hassle cost of the experience. Summary: In the end Erik's made things right, and did a good job of communicating clearly along the way as well as setting expectations appropriately, but I would caution against having bindings mounted by Erik's unless you have no time pressure, and are willing to deal with potential hassle along the way.

Sold me a bike that was supposed to be $4000 (which I have a receipt for) I put a deposit down, and when I went to pick up the bike, they said ooops it's actually $5000. 1B. The bike they sold me was too big for me, and tried to gaslight me and convince me that it fits. I could not stand over the bike at all. I returned it, and they were mad at me about it. 2. Performed a bike fit for $200. The data is entirely useless. I sent it to 3 bike manufacturers and they said - it's pointless data intended for use of NOW bikes only. 3. When I asked them to order a different bike for me- they said they would- but would not honor any trial/test policy. (The manufacturer allows 30 days) So I couldn't even test ride it, and check it for craftsmanship- so I declined to buy from them. 4. I bought my own bike, and brought it to their store for repair. I stood in their store and explicitly told them in detail everything that needed to be done. The bike manufacturer also sent them an email with this information. Now bikes called me 3 days later telling me that they installed the seat. They only completed 1 of the 4 times and said it was ready for pick up. They didn't finished the work order. They argued about this for 2 weeks saying no one told them. It's unbelievable really how dumb someone can be. 5. When they finally completed the work, I picked up my bike- the repair wasn't done correctly and my bike has sustained damage. There are scratches in the chain stays and the top tube is fractured. As if it was put into a clamp. 6. They told me my bike was never stored by other bikes- but I have a picture of it in their own stored backroom stored by other bikes. Lies. Lies. Lies. 7. I believe they put my top tube in a clamp stand. I asked them to confirm and they argued with me, got really defensive and rude. They said they had proof and refused to provide it. 8. I have requested the work order invoice several times. They won't give it to me, even though they performed work on my personal property. The store now hangs up on me when I call. 9. I left a message for the store owner weeks ago, and he has not called me back to this day.

Once we circled in on what I was looking for, they let me test ride three or four different bikes in the surrounding neighborhood, adjusting each bike to fit me before riding. I felt really taken care of and my intimidation about purchasing a bike dissolved immediately upon interacting with the staff. I stopped at a few different bike shops today but Recovery stood head and shoulders above the others because they were so friendly, knowledgeable, affordable, and community oriented. I couldn't recommend this place more highly and I'm planning to stick with them for my future biking needs.

The person I spoke to (sadly, cannot recall the name!) was very helpful and accommodating, while my bro was both excited and surprised by his birthday Ghost, I found the whole experience with Chilkoot to be excellent. My husband took my bike to Chilkoot Cyclery (which doesn't even sell Tern bikes) and they discovered that it was missing an important piece to the drive train and was causing my chain to rub on the frame. The team at Chilkoot went above an beyond helping us solve the mystery. They called Tern and ordered a replacement part, installed it, and gave my bike a tune up for a very reasonable price. My bike was repair where I could ride again but it was not the same as before accident. As the weather is starting to be nice out, I took my bike down to ride and the brakes were not very tight and the gears were not shifting smoothly as before. I did a search for bike tune ups near me and Velofix came up on the search again. I was going to take my bike to Nokomis Bike shop but after my husband went to check it out, they have an undetermined time frame of when the bike would be worked on so I decided to schedule an appt with Velofix. Luckily, they had one opening left for Thursday May 20. Prices were comparable to Nokomis Bike Shop for a basic tune up. It was great because Velofix came to my house and worked on the bike right in their mobile van and was done in an hour. Brant was friendly and good to work with. I did my check in and got a surprised check in offer for a free cooling towel with any service but I didn't save the offer and so I'm not able to pull it up again. I told Brant that and he was surprised of the offer and didn't have any cooling towels available. Overall, I would recommend Velofix because of the convenience, pricing and friendly staff.
