    Three beef enchiladas
    Barry S.

I am not a food snob, nor a culinary critic. It doesn't take much to make me happy. But this was a disappointing experience all 'round. When we first entered (we're visiting from L.A.) it didn't seem very busy. We asked, "can we just sit down" and a woman snapped at me "NO! We have to check the book." It was rather jarring. But we were seated at a pleasant booth by our server, a very nice young lady. It took a while before she came to take our drink orders, and it took a while for them to arrive. My wife and I each had a strawberry margarita, which tasted nice, like a strawberry shake. Sadly, like a strawberry shake, I could not taste any hint of tequila in the drink. My daughters double raspberry margarita was similarly weak. We placed our orders, and then waited. And waited. And waited. The food did not arrive until 55 minutes after we'd first walked in the door. Unacceptable. When it did arrive, we were dismayed at the tiny portions. My $21 dollar plate of three enchiladas was tragic; three small tortillas, not even rolled, just forlornly folded over. A small bit of tasteless beef inside, tomato sauce slathered all over it, and bits of crumbled cheese sprinkled on top. My wife ordered a burrito, or so she thought, but received three small tortillas, rolled up with chicken and beans, as requested. She also reports the chicken as "not tasting that great." My daughter ordered the three chicken taco appetizer as she was not very hungry. Good thing, as they were tiny as well. The refried black beans we all had were strangely dark and flavorless. The rice tasted like white rice with a bit of tomato sauce, rather moist and heavy, not tasting like Mexican rice at all. And at the end of this sorry meal, the bill came to 95 dollars. I'm from LA. I know what expensive food tastes like. I don't mind spending a lot of money if the experience is good and the food is excellent. This was not the case here. The food was expensive and flavorless, the portions were small and the kitchen was glacially slow in preparing it. Not recommended.

Delicious dinner. We ordered the Enchilada Suizas & Nachos. Nachos were a huge portion, tons of feta! Can't rave enough about the enchiladas! Fast, friendly service. Lovely little gem of a restaurant

Really great food and staff, very large portions. We sat in the back, the patio felt like you were in Mexico with the terra-cotta colored walls and lovely flower pots. Our order came out pretty quick and was exact as we had made requests for extra condiments. We'll definitely be coming back for the ceviche and the shrimp cocktail! So fresh!

Tacos Costero, Enchiladas Verdes, and a side of guacamole. YUM YUM!

After a long hike, we were starving when we chose this restaurant in the Mission area of Kelowna. We we hoping to find something hearty and delicious and relatively fast to eat. Hector's Casa hit all these points, and their service was excellent too. I had the Tacos Costero and my friend had the Enchiladas Verdes. Both dishes were cooked perfectly with sides of rice and black beans which were also yummy. We were both very satisfied and happy when we left. Also, the service was very friendly and neighbourly, and we appreciated the overall warmth of this restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

The presentation is beautiful. This is the burrito, excellent!

Small intimate quaint little restaurant that's never disappoints! The staff are always so friendly and food is amazing and authentic.

Food took forever to come out. But the worst part was how expensive it was. Absolutely insane prices for small, tasteless mexican food.

There is a salsa bar-- the hot salsas are actually spicy. Some of the salsas were hit or miss, probably about 1/4 were good, 1/4 were ok and then the rest were rather bland or meh. The fire roasted salsa that came with the chips was actually the best one. We had two mains to share. The chile relleno was super interesting because it was actually stuffed with mean and rice, which is not traditional. The mole was rich and sweet, as expected. Portions are quite large and these dishes are heavy/rich so it's quite filling. I guess their most popular items are the tacos, but that seemed rather lame and is likely because a lot of people are not familiar with these other dishes. The cocktail list could use some revamping. There were a lot of cheap spirits bring used and it gave all inclusive resort cocktails vibe. They need a real mixologist to come in and give them some recipes so that they have authentic margaritas and other drinks without the sugary sweet frat party liquor. They just need to focus on better quality spirits and a more Mexico focused liquor list. Staff was super nice and friendly. I think they brought the chips and salsa as we had been waiting awhile for our food. Overall, I would recommend this place as it was priced fairly and the food was quite good. Is this authentic? Not really from the "modern" aspect, but they do a good job of melding the traditional with the new.

Food and service were amazing. Portion size was perfect. A beautiful way to end a day in Kelowna.read more

I can't believe how long I can be ignored by the staff and the manager. Apparently the record so far is 20 minutes. If it wasn't for the staff prioritizing the pick up orders, maybe they would have gotten to me sooner, but that is not a great excuse. And after hovering on the other side of the counter for over 10 minutes in front of me, the manager finally looks at me and asks if I have been helped. All this time she didn't check? And then there are the people picking up orders pushing into the line to get their orders first. Clearly showing up in person is not a good idea. Also my wife and I got different sized burritos. we couldn't tell the difference between the small and which one was the regular? The food line was constantly being stocked, and taking so much extra time. And so much of the food looks like it had been there all day, eww. I can't believe they are still in business. It's such a long wait no matter when I go in. I think I'm good now...I have learned that I'd rather spend my money at places that value my time and business.

We came around 12:30 on a Monday. There was one table in and no one was really there. I was slightly hesitant and worried it was going to take long as there was only one person working but another one showed up. We ordered margaritas (lime and so delicious - they flavour the rim with a spicy/salty combo that went so well with the tart of the lime). My friend got the burrito and I got tostados (they don't do much vegan options but they are very accommodating). We also ordered chips and salsa (not a typical salsa but very good) and guacamole (which unfortunately came with cheese so none for me). The chip were fresh and not too salty or oily. The burrito was huge and my friend thoroughly enjoyed it. The tostados were piled high with fresh veg and pickled onions and topped with their fresh hot sauce! The food was excellent!
