Our initial contact was with Amanda Paratore (relationship manager), who listened carefully to our needs/wants in paying for a new house and got an understanding of where we were with our current home and budget. After suggesting a few ideas of ways to go about reaching our goals, she sent us a short application that took about 20 minutes to complete online. Our next contact was Carena Constantaras (loan advisor). She provided us with our preapproval letter, which you absolutely have to have in today's competitive real estate market, and made sure we were able to lock in a crazy low interest rate. We really appreciated being able to communicate with Carena via phone, text and email. She was friendly, responsive and efficient, and always made sure we knew where we were in the process. One of my favorite parts of the experience was Heckman's technology. Their "Mortgage Tracker" website is so easy to use and walks you through each step in little bite-size chunks--we were able to make consistent progress on the mortgage process without ever feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by having to do too much at one time. Next up on our team was Kristina Olarte (mortgage processor). The Heckman website refers to her as a "mortgage processing ninja" who gets loans closed ahead of schedule. That's accurate! When the offer on our new house was accepted, she stepped in and guided the process. Kristina often worked directly with our fabulous realtor, Christy Clement, and others behind the scenes to complete various requirements, meaning I didn't even have to deal with There are a few deadlines when you get to the closing process: 48 hours to do this, three days to do that, etc. Kristina made sure that we met every deadline without feeling rushed or stressed. We've used Brian and his team for mortgages on our last two houses. I can say unequivocally that they are awesome! Heckman made the loan part of our house purchase process so simple and straight forward. From getting pre-approved, requesting documents, and working on the closing they handled everything very professionally and quickly.
