My partner and I saw photos on yelp and were really excited to try this place out!
We decided to have lunch there. When we came in an hour or so after they opened, we weren't surprised to see so few tables in the huge restaurant open. We were surprised at the end of our meal we were one of two.
This obviously means they'd have a lower turn over rate and fewer options, which I was fine with. Unfortunately we found that aside from a few desserts and the cold salad area, most of the food was tough to get through. We were unlucky enough to get dim sum that had been steaming so long they'd become chewy and pasty. Shellfish and cheese sort of dried and glued to the shell. Food over-fried and dried by the heat lamps. Dry brownies, melty slushies. My husband tried a dish of fish in sauce and was unable to finish his plate. Most of the things I wanted to try from the photos were missing.
Fruit, most desserts, cold salad, sushi area, and a few other things were totally fine! And the free soda, tea, water, and coffee were refreshing! But one doesn't come to a buffet to eat from a quarter of the display.
If we were to give the restaurant a second chance, we would come when they were much busier. And I, a huge fruit lover who was hoping to see more of the fruits I'd seen in the photos, would probably want to return closer to late summer.
We also made the mistake of skipping the wok section entirely, which we've now heard was the best part of the restaurant! read more
