If you haven't affiliated for whatever reason, I definitely recommend Congregation Beth Shalom!

It's nice to see families of three generations attending regular services. What's more, life cycle events are both family and communal occasions. The Thursday morning service is also warm and intimate. 2. Often, members assist one another with birth, illness, and mourning through meal train. 3. Moreover, Bonai Shalom has wonderful educational programming for all ages including adult education. 4. The staff is warm and attentive to all who enter the door. Call if you're planning to visit! Since joining Rodef, we have watched our children thrive in their vibrant Jewish education program and our daughter recently had a beautiful Bat Mitzvah there. Rabbi Kobrin, Cantor Saul, and the entire staff bring an energy and vibrancy to Rodef that few synagogues possess. On any given Shabbat morning you can find congregants of all ages attending amazing services and programs tailored to many different groups. This culminates in an amazing kiddish lunch that creates community and family. Their programs throughout the year are equally creative, welcoming, and accessible. We were left with Ms. Victoria-- he became very stoic and would not tell us about what happened at school. His lunch box would be completely empty everyday (I'd over pack bc he was a picky eater at the time) and he'd come home hungry everyday. Ms Victoria had our nanny in tears after she dropped him off and she said to him, "I guess I'll take you too" after greeting/hugging the other children in the classroom. We finally made the decision to take him out of this school when he was sent home with a dirty diaper everyday for a week straight. Temple Sinai was recommended to us by multiple people and I don't think our experience is reflective of the temple as a whole, but I would move with extreme caution in leaving my child under the care of Victoria.

Pastor Doug Hamp is highly educated in God's word and a genuine love for seeing people come to the Lord. He explains every scripture indepth in a very simple and practical way. The ministry staff are a true example of the love of God. We look forward to Shabbat. We always feel welcome when we walk through the door and are always greeted with a sincere smile.
