Decided to make the hour long drive through Houston to see Pia, and I'm very glad I did. The piece turned out exactly as I wanted it, and she's very cool and accommodating. The shop itself is SO nice, by far the nicest tattoo studio I've been to thus far. They offer free snacks and beverages while you wait, or if you need a break in the tattoo process. Everyone I spoke to was very sweet, and the other customers seemed to love their experience as well. I highly recommend, even if it is a bit of a drive for some. ^ wrote this review about three months ago with my first tattoo. It healed beautifully and I went today for my second one and the experience was just as good.

Adrian Wilder, was recommended to me by a close friend. After looking through his Instagram, I emailed him to schedule an appointment. His assistant was very prompt in her responses and was able to schedule me in within 3 weeks. This shop was about an hour drive for me but totally worth it. The shop was not only super clean and pleasant, but the other artists there were very friendly while i was getting my tattoo. I can't recommend Adrian enough. My tattoo came out prefect and I have had multiple friends ask for his info after seeing my tattoo.

Aaron Springs has been (and will continue to be) my artist and I drive over an hour every time to see him. If you are familiar with Houston traffic, at all, you know that in and of itself is a big recommendation. All the artists here are great, however, I would send anyone to any one of them without hesitation.

Steven is an incredible artist that always captures the essence of what you've dreamed of having tattooed on your skin. His use of colors, technique, and style all play a part in the experience you receive while you're at the studio. He makes you feel comfortable while there, makes great jokes, but doesn't pressure you to engage in conversation for sake of conversation. The other artist are all friendly and flock around to admire their fellow artist work. They ask for feedback and advice which makes it a very open place. I will continue to book with Steven because I know I'm getting quality work that lasts a lifetime!

Mason was my guy and I needed a cover up of an Astros Star tattoo that I got about 12 years ago that was looking pretty busted. It was a weird size but Mason was able to cover it up while giving me what I wanted with sharp strong lines. It's perfect. Thanks Mason! I'd return in a heartbeat.

Looking for your next tattoo? Red Dagger is the way to go. I was totally impressed with this place right off the bat. After hearing plenty of recommendations about Red Dagger, I decided to get a pretty big piece done on my arm. The tattoo shop felt welcoming, comfortable, and the quirky/weird decor (you'll know what I mean when you get there) made me feel like I was in someone's living room, which is awesome. I got an incredible piece done by Ringo Leone, who does some sweet traditional work. He was easy-going, drew up an idea that I had some inspiration for (in no time), and worked extremely efficiently. I gave him total freedom over colors & parts of the design, and he managed to make it EXACTLY how I envisioned it - bold, contrasty, and traditional. One thing I love about this shop is that each artist there has a little different style to meet anyone's tattoo genre/ideas. From traditional, realism, etc, there's a little bit of everything. Every artist here knows what they're doing, and they do it damn well. You won't be disappointed with one aspect of this shop. Be sure to make an appointment because they work by appointment only. Good artists are busy artists.

I kinda laughed when I saw one of the bottom reviews and one that is hidden. Everyone I met or saw was extremely friendly. In the real world when not getting a flash tattoo you wait and you pay more. Period. I am so pleased that a dude from Nutrition Depot sent me to Red Dagger. Shop is clean and very spacious. Cool and collective taxidermy, which I collect myself. Met several of the other artist and saw their work first hand. Amazing. I recommend this shop and everyone in it. Great group of dude's that worked their butts off to get where they are today. Thank you Abel Sanchez for my beautiful piece. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for working with me and talking to me for a solid 6 hours about whatever! Solid dude. I'll be back for work. Cheers boos

I love this place. I had gotten my first tattoo done by Abel Sanchez, and he was absolutely amazing. Very professional, and upfront. As well as completely relaxed. I had felt so comfortable with him, it felt like I was just hanging out with a friend. Anyways, the quality of his work is amazing. He's definitely worth any trip, or price. His lines are so clean, and his eye for detail is spot on. Plus the atmosphere of the location is so cool. And every one else who works there is so relaxed and friendly. I'll definitely be going back again in the future, as well as recommending Red Dagger to anyone wanting a piece done.

Red Dagger will be my go-to tattoo studio from now on. Besides the obvious reasons, you choose a tattoo studio for the relationship you can build with your artist. Case in point, I visited a parlor on westheimer when I first moved to Houston. The experience was awkward. I felt like I was bothering the tattoo artist by just walking in and asking if he had time; oh and the place was empty and he was sitting on his phone. Not knowing any better, I went ahead and got a tattoo there and THAT was an awkward experience in itself. Same thing, I tried to chat it up with him, but he wanted no part in that conversation. Too late to walk out, but I'll never go back there. Fast forward a couple of years and I start getting that itch again. So I ask my barber (one of the main men a man can trust), Danny Love from Cutthroat, if he recommended any parlor and he tells me about Red Dagger. I saw all I needed from their Instagram profile. A couple of different artists each with their own unique style. I really liked the way Abel drew flowers, so I contacted him for a session. Heres a hint as to how popular they are: I had to book him almost three months in advance. At least I had time to plan my trip all the way out to Clear Lake. Abel is a real down to earth guy, the type of person you don't mind putting a permanent mark on your body, unlike that other guy from westheimer. He worked on for about 4 hours and always made sure I was comfortable. So yes, it's a little far, but it's worth it. Follow the shop and Abel on Instagram so you can see their work: @reddaggertatto and @abel_av.

Seriously 5 stars! I worked with Mason and things couldn't have gone easier/better. His communication was great, he took the time to really understand what I wanted and what worked/what might not work and set up an appointment just to meet and go over my expectations. As a shop, it's got a great vibe and is very clean! Not a pick and stick establishment, top notch and all the artists work looked great. The day of my appointment, his drawing was exactly what I wanted and I love my piece. I fully intend on going back for more work!

I got 2 awesome tattoos here for Friday the 13th! Awesome job to both of my artist Madeline and Aaron!

This is a fantastic tattoo shop. I live about an hour away from the shop itself, but it was worth the drive. I heard about this place through some friends of mine so I decided to get some work done here. The place is super clean and honestly it's just the right size for a tattoo shop. It isn't too crowded. I'll admit I got a little lost at first when I was looking for the shop because it's mixed in with other small businesses. But I'm telling you, it's worth the drive (if you live far) and wait (because I know they book really fast with their artists). I was lucky enough to make an appointment with one of the artists who had some time available. My artist, Ringo, was very accommodating and gave me exactly what I wanted. I definitely would love to return and get tattooed by the other artists because I know their style varies and each and every one of them are extremely talented. I HIGHLY recommend this shop if you want to get some work done.

Got tattooed here by the fantastic Andrés Acosta over the weekend and it was a great experience! He was extremely personable and was a joy to get tattooed by. The shop is reasonably sized and is extremely clean and well taken care of. It is also in a safe neighborhood which makes visiting worry free! I could not be happier with the tattoo I received or the experience over all. Great shop guys!

Done by Aaron Springs. Exceeded my expectations, mad skillz.

The place is kept really clean and Johnny even offered snacks during a break. It's a private studio which is nice because I don't really a big fan of random people popping in while I'm being worked on. 5/5 In depth review of the whole process. Objective: Booking periods happen only so often. I submitted my application with two concept ideas. I received my email October 2nd telling me I was selected for the Feb/Mar cycle. I paid my booking deposit then gave them my availability, they worked with my availability and I was scheduled for March 15th. Once the appointment was confirmed I told them I'm willing to switch appointments if necessary to work around his other clients. My appointment date remained the same but my time was moved to 7am which was nice. Johnny reached out February 16 for a confirmation on the exact design (I kept going back and forth sending in different things) and March 8th I got a courtesy email for my upcoming session. I showed up to the studio and Johnny was finishing up the final design. We talked briefly on the different aspects of shading and line work but I told him that I trusted him because he's the artist and he knows what will probably look best for the final piece. The session was about 6 hours with 3 breaks. Snacks and beverages were provided. The studio itself is open with tall ceilings. It has couches and a long meeting table. The tattoo I got cover parts of my chest, my sternum, some ribs, and my upper abdomen. It was a painful tattoo Subjective: The booking process was really nice and communication from his assistant was nice. I think he got a new assistant sometime after my appointment was confirmed, nothing was wrong with his old assistant but his new one Melanie has a much more welcoming online persona. Her personality in person matches it too. Johnny comes off as a casual laid-back guy. He's nonchalant yet he's very interested in his clients. He gave me a sense of autonomy throughout the whole process. In hindsight I gave him very little to work with and while doing the final touches he was asking me what I liked specifically about the reference pictures. I sent him a couple of pictures of different designs by other artists and it was really nice to know he took them into consideration. I've been to an artist before where I brought in printed references and the artist glimpsed at it then pulled out the sketch he already had before I showed up. While I was being worked on the pain was too much for me to handle in the beginning, given the location and design it's expected to hurt. I asked if I could have a break after the main outline was done and Johnny agreed. I didn't feel any mental resistance from him. He wrapped up the area so I could go outside and get some fresh air. After that I didn't have to ask for breaks, Johnny stopped and gave me two more. I'm not sure how but Johnny knew when I was getting reaching my threshold. Given he's had years of experience I'm sure he's picked up a 6th sense on how to read people. After the main outline was done Johnny stopped and asked how I wanted the rest of the session to play out. I told him I'd prefer to do the top part of my tattoo because I knew the bold lines would hurt more and I personally like having the most painful part of a tattoo done first. Johnny is the first artist to give me that option. Johnny himself as a person is hella cool. During the whole session we didn't talk much which was nice because I just wanted to relax (i'm on spring break from nursing school and my life since august has been studying so I actually don't know how to talk to people anymore lmao). From our conversation Johnny comes off as someone who wants to know his clients. This isn't just another transaction for him. He asked me questions to get to know me but he never pushed me to share. We both shared stories and aspects of lives that were interesting. Melanie went out for a bit and offered to pick something up. Johnny asked if I wanted anything which was really nice and I asked for coffee and a sandwich. When she came back I offered to pay and Johnny told me that he'd pay for it ( johnny is just nice af). This is my opinion but getting a tattoo is only cool after you get it. When I'm getting work done I'm being vulnerable to the public. I'm not a fan of getting work done while random people walk by watching me trying to hold myself together. The whole process is just painful and it sucks. I like this studio because it's just him and his assistance. Overall I had a really great experience. It's only been 4 days but I wake up every morning still in awe at his work. Pros: Johnny is cool Melanie is nice final product is dope snacks privacy Cons: that shit hurted
