And all the things I brought as gifts for my folks, they love it. So the next time I am in PCB, I will come by here.

My grandmother had…read morerecently moved back to Panama City, where she was born, and was just charmed by this little shop. However, when we had visited again to go purchase homegoods and little tchotchkes, a female worker blamed us for a broken candleabra. We had not broken anything in the store, and were extremely careful and always placed things back where we found them if we weren't going to purchase them. She glared at my grandmother, who was wheelchair bound, and it was obvious that she didn't believe us, and barely let the matter go when it was made clear we were purchasing a table. I regret our patronage to their store, as they made my grandmother feel incredibly guilty for needing a wheelchair.

My husband remembers coming here as a child, so when we were on "this" side of PCB, we had to stop…read moreby. As we walked to front door, we realized there were two raccoons at the main entrance eating food that patrons had thrown down in order to get pictures, etc. This experience made me so upset: 1) Don't feed wild animals and 2) Why wasn't the company concerned with wild animals hanging out at the entrance of the business where customers HAVE TO walk. I had hoped after exploring the entire store (which takes a while) that the raccoons would have moved on, but on our way out, we realized that the raccoons had made their nest/house inside of the exterior of Alvins. That made me even madder! This was not a one time instance! As I exited, I called animal control (which wouldn't respond to raccoons) so then I called the police (non-emergency). I realize they had bigger fish to fry on a Saturday night at PCB, but had those animals attacked me or my family members, they would have had a much bigger problem on their hands.

The items inside are of the same sort you can get at any of the other tourist shops in Panama City. If they aren't here though, they probably aren't in Panama City at all! While it definitely could use a facelift, my main knock on this place comes to the fact that it had (at least) two raccoons living in the outside structure (which is built like a mountain). They had made a tunnel into the wall and were crawling up into it, and sneaking outside to steal food and scare customers. That is a serious health & safety issue. Can you imagine if they bit someone? I hope someone reports them soon before something bad does end up happening.
