Great course and the distance is longer then the scorecard states...#7 had a very challenging approach shot.

Crystal Mountain - The walking path going into the art park. Pretty area about a two minute drive from the main resort area. $10 fee to enter.

For the slopes, they had so many lines for all different level of skiing. They had multiple sides to the mountain and even had a bar at the top that offered alcohol, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and even chili and hot dogs. I am at a beginner level and the green lines were still a tad more difficult, but everyone going down looks out for everyone. I was very impressed with the ski patrol as a fell quite a few times and they were there to check on me. The area itself was very clean and again, everything is easily walkable. I noticed an outdoor playground for the kiddos when it's warmer out to play on. The food options here are good. Almost everywhere was a bit crowded, but we were able to wait for our food and then take it back to the Airbnb. I was very impressed with this place on every level. I will be coming back and staying longer next time.

This was a time saver. -Do get to the mountain by mid-morning to secure close parking, maximize your ski time, and enjoy the runs before the crowds arrive (and they will). -Do consider coming on a Wednesday. A lift ticket in 2026 is only $45 versus the $105 I dropped for a Saturday. Shout-out to the ski staff for their overall hospitality and making sure folx got onto the lifts quickly and safely. It appeared to be a smooth operation. Another shout-out to the ski instructors who transformed my nieces into skilled skiers in just one lesson. Though this was my first time at Crystal Mountain, it will not be my last.

This used to be a great course for what it was. Now that Little River Casino took it over, it is…read moreAWFUL! They removed several trees to "improve the fairway". When they cut the trees down, they pushed the stumps into piles around the course. Not only does it look awful, if you end up anywhere near these piles, kiss your ball good bye! In the past the rough was maintained. Now, it is long matted down grass that eats balls. I had several balls land, roll into this mess and I saw where they went in, I could not find one of them! When the course was the Highlands, all of this was maintained, it was pretty hard to lose a ball, not anymore. I don't even want to hear how this simply makes the course more challenging, nonsense. It is cheaper to maintain, that is it! Greens- I've always enjoyed the greens at this course, largely they unchanged, so that is good. But as another posted mentioned, they are hard. There are several greens that have trenches and some sort of construction going on. So if you roll off the green, you are in a seriously churned up dirt pit. Please, fix the course. For now I will go to Manistee National. It is many tiers better, only a few dollars more, which I will save by the not having my balls eaten by the rough. I want to support this location, but it's condition really makes it hard! I really wish the Healthlands was still open, that was fantastic course!

Shitty course. Hard greens tricked up greens. Redo made the course worse , no yardage markersread more
