I've been to Caberfae a few times over the years with my friend whose family owns a cabin there, but this was the first time I'd been to Beatie's. I ordered a cider and the chicken tender basket. Our server was very nice and on top of things as it got busier in the restaurant. The chicken tender basket was good - typical for what you'd expect. The food was hot and fresh and seasoned well. I really liked the fries as they were lightly battered. The menu is a lot larger than I was expecting, with almost 10 sandwiches, salads, soups, and shareables. I would stop in here again next time I'm at Caberfae!

Whatever you want to call it, this little park is located near a lake, and has a sandy beach area, a shallow area for swimming, barbecue and picnic areas, a playground and a disc golf course. You can swim here, but there's no lifeguard on duty. At least, there wasn't one when I visited. This park seems like a good place to swim if you have young children, because the water is calm and the shoreline is shallow. This is a good beach to wade and splash in. We mostly spent our time at the playground, which is fun for kids and looks kind of like multiple tree houses. It also has slides, lots of things to climb on, and a playground equipment piece that looks like a boat. There's also a Little Free Library next to the playground. This is a fun little park with lots of different things to occupy a kid's time.

I found once there that all of the places that claimed to rent out these machines on their web sites have discontinued. After spending the first day of our vacation searching, I was delighted to find Happy Trails Rental. Happy Trails has excellent service at very reasonable prices. This is especially surprising because they seem to be the only place that actually rents out side by sides within 100 miles of Cadillac MI. We had never went trail riding before, but Dan told us everything we needed to know, and we headed out for a day of fun in the Yamaha Viking with complete confidence.
