That's because of the hilly terrain and water on several holes. The course is in great condition. The problem we had was that the two-some in front of us ignored golf etiquette. They were hitting up to three balls each off of the tees and seemed to be putting at least 2 balls each. Did they at least replace divots and fix ball marks you wonder? Nope. Maybe the guy was teaching the lady but he wasn't that good himself so he was teaching bad habits. After they finished nine holes they went back to the first tee to torture who ever would be playing behind them.

Dis place here is awesome but really expensive beers. Lots of peoples but we finds no polski party at dis joint. No farm animals either that we saw. da Stosh man had the pbr tanks top goin on but nobody cares much. Eddie was making eyes at a sign carry babe but she turned him down big time. Some peoples gets mad at Anton cause he stinks up one of those satellite toilets but good. His girlfriend made us da sauerkraut, onion, braunshwieger and swiss cheese sanwiches for da ride up an I guess dat wasn't a good idea for Anton. Hugest gas in da Conways farm for sures. We enjoyed ourselves while we were there, the issue was leaving the park trying to board the shuttle buses. It was extremely crowded even for the BMW owners. I can tell they tried to make it less of a a headache for those that were in attendance. I cant even recall how many times the owners parking lot was moved!! The owners pavilion really nice and a way to relax to get food and drinks. It just so happened that while we was up there.. Zach Johnson's mom walked up and was chit chatting with us about her son on the 17th teeing off!! lol!! was Definitely an experience!! Man I missed my check in here..... :)

For whatever reason the Lake County Forest Preserve doesn't manage this course to the same level as…read morethe others. Everything about this course is tired and somewhat neglected. Just a few observations on very basic things... Turf care is marginal at best, weeds are common and cut limbs and brush are scattered across the entire course. The pro shop is a small room that has the feel of a funeral home. The majority of holes don't have ball washers. Pins are not plumb. Traps are sloppy... One or two of these things might not get your attention but add them together and you get a mediocre golf experience. Brae Loch could be a much better (and profitable) course with a little effort. The Forest Preserve is definitely mismanaging this asset.
