As first time parents with shared conviction that the "Business of Having Babies @ Hospitals" is…read moresimply not for us, we began our search for alternatives. This journey involved learning all about birthing centers, different types of midwives, different requirements/restrictions with each scenario, etc etc. We visited various birthing centers in Dallas and the surrounding areas but ultimately, and to our great satisfaction and appreciation... we were connected to Sweet Pea Midwifery and Olivia Delavega. We felt a huge sense of relief, because for my wife and I, having our baby in the comfort, energy, ambiance and convenience of our home checked all the boxes... Olivia, her team and her network were wonderful. Our experience with Olivia, Tabby and Iana (our Doula; within Olivia/Tabby's Network) was incredible. Well organized, cohesive, logical pregnancy plan coupled with a very informative and great emotional support structure from Iana. At no time did we feel pressured to do anything. Free will and free choice should be pervasive throughout our lives, but more and more it feels like some of those freedoms are slipping away. That wasn't the case with Sweet Pea Midwifery. We chose to have a 100% natural, zero pain intervention birth at home. Old School style... like they did for 1000's of years. At each step and with each choice we discussed the pros, the cons, the risks of each with Olivia and Tabby, asking countless questions, and in the end we chose the path that made the most sense for us and felt fully supported by the whole team. If we have another child, we will absolutely return to Sweet Pea Midwifery. I just can't say enough good things... this review would go on and on. Thank you so much Olivia!!!

My experience with Olivia and Tabby was nothing short of exceptional. They helped me have the…read morehomebirth experience I've always dreamt of. Prenatal care was comprehensive and great. Although my birth was incredibly fast, Olivia was such a help to me. Not necessarily because of what she did, but how she encouraged me and empowered me to birth my baby. I have had 3 babies previously (with different providers in a different state) and not once did I feel confident taking the reins during the actual pushing. I always waited for other providers to tell me it was okay to start pushing, but with Olivia, I was confident and comfortable enough to let me body do the work and rest in that. Even when she gave me advice, they were more helpful suggestions than commands that I felt in previous births. I so appreciated her aid and reassuring presence. Postpartum care was also phenomenal and our whole family felt very loved and cared for. Olivia and Tabby have become friends and if we were to have any more babies, I would love to be in their care again. Thank you, Sweet Pea Midwifery, for such a beautiful experience that I will treasure forever.

We knew being second time parents that something just wasn't right. We contacted Cathy and she was able to come out to our home in Alhambra quickly. She immediately identified our son had a tongue tie which explained all of our feeding issues. She also spent lots of time explaining about proper latching and showing us how to feed. She explained how to supplement with pumped milk just until our son started to gain weight which helped us avoid formula as our nurses suggested. Since the. We had the tongue tie cut and are successfully breastfeeding a couple weeks later :) We also had questions after our meeting which she responded to via email very quickly and offered another phone consultation the next day. Cathy was absolutely a godsend!!!

From the initial interview and needs assessment to follow up communication it has been a huge comfort to know I'm being taken care of by such a professional team. I was a bit surprised to learn the owner of SynergyND would arrive with my care giver on the first appointment. She quietly kept in the background making detailed notes about what was being done. From how I like my coffee, where supplies are located, my use of a transfer board to get in and out of my wheelchair, etc. By keeping those notes it would allow her to update any of the care givers (or herself) to come and they'd know exactly what was required. I can't tell you how many times other service companies I used would send someone different out and I'd spend most of the allotted time telling them what was needed and then repeat the next day when another new person showed up. It was so tiresome. If you're looking for home care service I recommend them highly. No comparison to the other services I've used in the past.
