I used to have fun playing this course, but my last experience there left a bad taste in my mouth…read more I took my 5 year old son there to hit some balls on the range, and use the putting green. We bought several baskets of balls, and also spent money at the Restaurant/Bar. We were having a grand old time, and all of a sudden, the guy from the pro-shop comes out and yells at my kid on the putting green. He says that he was taking too much of a back swing, and making contact with the green with his putter. This beratement of my son made my son hate the game of golf. He feels that he has been banned from the course. I have no problem with an authority figure instructing us as to the proper way to treat the course, but to yell at my son from 50 yards away was not the proper way to solve the problem. The guy could have simply come over to us instead of making a scene, and making my son feel really bad about himself. I vow not to return to this course.

One round the marshal flagged us down on the very last hole and told us we couldn't finish And had to head back to the club house. I asked since you are not allowing me to finish what I paid for then do I get some money back and he replied "that's not how it works" our round was going on 3 hours which is pretty fast if you ask me but not fast enough for the marshals i guess. Play here at your own risk. Like I said, It used to be my favorite course in this area and I would play every weekend All summer and fall. They lost a loyal customer.

The entire round I was waiting behind a group who took approximately 6.7 hours to play 18 holes. We had to leave early because my friend had work. Bear in mind, we started at 11 and had to leave at 5. Also I was -3 at that time. The condition this course was in was utterly laughable, and I wouldn't wish playing this course on my worst enemy. I found this very rude as it was 95 degrees out and I'm wearing a dress outside. Would not recommend this golf course acorns is hands down the best course in Waterloo il!
