They have a hot foods section - brown rice with veg (peas/carrot) and 4 options of sides will bring you to $12. I opted for their special of 2 lunch orders to get a free large soup (16oz). The guy really packs in the food so for $12 a box it's def worth if you're in a time crunch and want a filling vegetarian meal. To order, order at the counter, pay at the cashier, and bring back your receipt to collect your food. The food is mildly seasoned and not super oily which I love - I def go home to add hot sauce/red chili flakes at home though. After I got the food I walked around the store to look around. Not sure about the fresh produce, but the dairy section is sooo pricy compared to what I'm used to at Trader Joe's for things like organic milk or non-dairy yogurt. I get that it's a small business but for the amount and speed my household consumes dairy, we got to go for Trader Joe's.

They have healthy options for sour cream, cookies, teas, ice cream, cereals, pasta, sauces, flour, milk, cheese, chips, etc. You name it. They have it. Let's face it - the only trade joe's in Queens is a mess. Way too crowded. And the nearest Whole Foods store is in Manhasset, NY. That's too far if you don't have a car. This store gives queens residents another option for organic, healthy food without having to wait in long lines at Trader Joe's or drive all the way to Manhasset, NY. By the way, this store's vitamin shop is AMAZING. The person who is in charge of the vitamin area is knowledgeable in what to offer clients based on their illness. This store also serves shakes, and meals, which I have yet to try. A "healthy meats" store (extension of this store) opened up nearby and I'll check that out too.

Considering the size of the store's footprint and the economics of small stores and natural foods, I find this store's selection and pricing remarkably comparable to what I'm used to. Are the aisles crowded? Of course... ditto the stores I patronized in Manhattan.Do they stock everything I could possibly want? No. But what they do stock FAR exceeds what I can fit in my fridge and kitchen cabinets. I've seen some reviewers say checkout staff is rude... What the heck. I always find them friendly and delightful. The staff members that work in the aisles are likewise. I love this place!

Sometimes I try something that sucks, but it's also a brand I've never tried before and you won't know until you try. Most of the items I found here I love and keep coming back for. Unfortunately most other markets in this area do not offer an assortment like this one. Prices are a bit higher here, but you're paying for convenience. The workers are kind and understanding. I've never had an issue with any of the workers. Sometimes an item maybe spoiled or going bad, but if you call right away after you notice they usually make exchanges effortless for you. Overall a clean place to come for unique items. Hoping they bring back the vanilla caramel fudge Ben and Jerry ice cream!

I've only been to one other Aldi's (out of state) and that seemed to be more relaxed, organized, and clean, but this one seems to attract some of the worst shoppers I've ever encountered: shamelessly opening packages, knocking products down, destroying items, and misplacing them. I get it's a discount market and that this shopping center in particular pulls in most of Queens but it's reminiscent of Black Friday in the 2000s most of the time--at all hours. So many aggressive shoppers who are very likely ready to shove you. It is somewhat better during the weekdays and I always get most of what I need. Their meat and cheese selections are excellent and decently priced. I don't suggest getting anything brand-name because they definitely charge a little more than elsewhere but for everything else, you can tell when big labels make an off-brand version for Aldi. The staff is here and there at times and they are definitely understaffed, even during peak hours. I've seen them get frustrated with unaware shoppers, which is understandable. Don't make this your one-stop shop if you live in the area or have a market near you. Not worth the stress navigating through people and long lines at times.
