They've ALWAYS been professional and have treated me compassionately throughout the entire time I've been seen by them. I have chronic low back pain due to three different diagnoses in the same 3 vertebrae and it took quite a while to find a way to manage my pain appropriately. Unfortunately, pain meds were the only method that worked - UNTIL I did a trial of a Nevro HFX neurostimulator. That worked beautifully and I now have had one permanently implanted and am tapering off my pain meds. All thanks to Dr. Schwartzman and the staff at the Warwick office of Comprehensive Pain Management. People do need to remember that ALL pain management clinics are under constant scrutiny by both state and federal agencies - pain meds are VERY highly restricted - for good reason! Prescriptions are restricted to 30 days max NOT by these doctors, but by RI law. And all the "rules" required to be followed if you ARE prescribed pain meds are spelled out in a pain contract that you're required to review and sign annually (standard practice by any doctor prescribing opiates - it was required by my old pain medicine practice, too!)- so it should never be a shock to be asked for a urine sample! That's very plainly spelled out in the contract! Just make sure you don't "go" before you head to the office for your appointment - it's not that hard to deal with. I've been doing it for 15 years! I've NEVER been treated like a drug seeker or an addict - maybe because my pill counts are ALWAYS accurate and my drug screens always show exactly what they're supposed to. If you're looking to get high, don't bother coming here. If you're looking for compassionate treatment for a long-term pain issue, this is where I've found it and I highly recommend Comprehensive Pain Management.

For those of you…read morewho have also had, or have the challenge and or misfortune of battling daily pain and have struggled to keep it within the confines of a workable level, by that I mean fighting to subdue and keep it at a realistic score of 3 to 4 (on the universal pain scale we all know so well) Biltmore doctors & staff can and will help.. Depending on your physical bodily pain need, be it inflicted by surgeries (8 in total), accidents, work related, or in my case by all the above in addition having sports injuries (constant daily pounding that body building & power lifting will cause to your back, spine and joints). If that's not enough I was born with, cerebral palsy, a severely degenerative discs, osteoarthritis, herniated discs, severe lower back muscle strain and lower lumbar disc herniation and lastly sciatica Biltmore practitioners did and are doing their best to help. Let me also say that due my walking gate being abnormal, the hardware in my lumbar region lower back and spine makes it difficult due to my walk or gate while in motion.Because of this I have at times extreme pain while in motion. I was in a wheelchair for some time and was told I may not walk again or have to depend on devices to assist me. In addition to all the above I also suffer from muscle atrophy in my lower legs that makes it challenging to walk or stand for any length of time coupled by fatigue and sudden loss of strength in my legs when the pain spikes. All that being said the doctors at Biltmore & Rhode Island Neurosurgical Institute together got me out of the chair and walking, while bringing my pain to a comfortable level. I was referred to Biltmore Medical by my primary care doctor and a close friends who saw an add by Biltmore saying they will properly manage my pain thereby improving my quality of life on every level and will listen! Needless to say after seeing that I made an appointment and the road to great care and after a full detailed examination and in depth conversation with the doctors they prescribed proper medication after trying so many different med combinations including, epidural injections, p/t, aquatic theropy, surgery and stretching with ice and heat I'm now on the road to successfully managing my pain. These doctors listened to me, I wasn't judged or labeled they simply wanted to help me get better, allowing me to workout again, take long walks, hold my girlfriends hand walking along side her of my own fruition and not in a wheelchair. They helped me to now consider volunteering and getting back to working a few hours a week right now. That's huge, I couldn't imagine a year ago getting to this point. The staff at Biltmore and my doctors Joseph, Diane & Bryant including my neurosurgeons Prakesh Sampath at the Rhode Island Neurosurgical Institute made this possible.
