With out authentication from one of these institutions you are buying only words. Only authenticated icons by these institutions carry weight. Experts are not retailers. Experts have PhD's and back their authentication with real science. Chemical analysis. X-ray. Dendrochronology. These are the tools of experts. This is an unregulated market full of scammers. Not experts. Ask anyone of them for proof of their claims. Will not get Xrays or chemical analysis identifying date and origin. Only an explanation about why their opinion is superior the the actual science of authentication. There is not a single scientific method or recognized authenticating institution standing behind any of his claims. Art authentication is difficult and the unscrupulous take advantage by making claims that are not true. Ask for documentation outside his opinion and there is nothing. Well documented scientific research is the only authentication real experts will accept. And serious buyers too.
