History
Established in 1981.
Rick Hearne started this business over 30 years ago as a logger. Through experience he is able to pick 1 log out of hundreds of the same species that for one reason or another is more extraordinary due to figure, color, etc. Rick and his son, Brian Hearne, are our primary log purchasers and spend a significant amount of time traveling the globe looking for beautiful exotic wood. We are always on the look for the next "one of a kind log"; these logs (flitches) are what make our business truly special.
This business has become a passion to the Hearne Hardwoods family and it can be seen in the vast amount of beautiful wood that we have collected; at any given time our inventory holds 1 million board feet of lumber in over 140 different species. Our goal is to offer our customers the most diversified collection of unique timbers that can be found from sustainable sources, coupled with excellent customer service.
