I had met her a few years prior at a talk on hearing loss at a local organization I belong too and thankfully saved her card. Dr. Woods responded to me promptly with care and professionalism. I am overwhelmed by the kindness and efficiency of her and her staff. I finally have the hearing aids that I was trying to get for months and highly recommend this location for any hearing needs. Meredith, the audiologist, was very thorough and asked…read moremany pertinent questions before performing the hearing test, which was done in a "quiet booth" for my 91 year old mother. After the test, she explained the results, options and made a recommendation, which was quite different from her prior experience (8 years before). My mother agreed with Meredith, who then made the mold of her ear. They called when the hearing aid was ready; this visit was with the other audiologist, Eric. He was just as thorough in explaining the use and care of my mother's hearing aid, then fit her and programmed it using the computer, which fine tuned it to the right level. Eric patiently answered all the questions my mother asked him. So far, I am pleased that my mother can now understand everything I'm saying to her without having to repeat myself! I'm sure our other relatives who come to visit her will be pleasantly surprised. The location is 1 block off of the Parkway exit ramp (exit 135) if you're driving northbound. If coming southbound, you just go around through the intersection. The waiting area is clean, with more than enough comfortable seats. There were plenty of open spots in their parking lot. There are NO STAIRS, which is wonderful ~ only a small curb separates the wide driveway from the sidewalk, which the front door is level with. The woman at the front desk, Val, is business-like and helpful. She completes their staff of 3. Their hours are VERY LIMITED (10-4, M-F) which caused a 3 month delay between the 1st & 2nd appointments which conflicted with my husbands work hours and when he was next able to take off. He is the only one my wheelchair-bound mother trusts to transport her anywhere. In the interim, my mother spoke with a friend of hers about her experience; the friend told her that there are companies who will come to a patients home. Aside from that problem, which most likely would affect a small number of their patients, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Hearing Center for their attributes and would have given them a 5 star rating! He also is not part of any of the large medical groups in the area (Westfield Family Practice, Summit Medical Group, etc.), which I can only describe as purely money-making organizations. I also liked the idea of visiting a Doctor of Osteopathy instead of an MD, thinking that he might recommend dietary/lifestyle changes in addition to pharmaceuticals. Instead, I had the pleasure of meeting a doctor who laughed at my request for a full blood test as part of a physical, telling me that I was young and skinny, and therefore must be healthy, and don't need to see him. Finally, I just found out that my lovely doctor, or his staff, seems to have lost my medical/prescription records. Despite being a young and healthy adult who doesn't visit the doctor other than for annual check ups (luckily), this is the last straw. Guess I have to look for a new doctor.

This is a much deserved but overdue review to this amazing hospital. I just moved to NJ a couple of…read moremonths ago and looking for services, I was looking for a place that had: therapies, doctors and affordable. Finding this place helped relieve a lot of the stress and I found everything I was looking for. I have to be honest, at first the application process was confusing and just speaking to so many employees over the phone was frustrating just because every person I talked to was referring me to the wrong person until I called my county office and as a lucky strike the person that assisted me at the county personally knew Jennifer at this hospital. I called and let me tell you, Jennifer was not only apologetic but empathetic and took my application and processed it in 3 days instead of 2 months. My child was schedule for their assessment and approved for full services. Most of the employees are friendly and warm. Of course like in any place you always find that one person who has an attitude but I won't let that lower my 5 star rating. They have other facilities but driving to mountainside from elizabeth is so worth it just because the location is beautiful and in a nice area. They accept most insurances except for Aetna. I found out that Aetna doesn't cover this hospital either. If you are just starting the process of application just be patient, the wait can be long but it is worth it. I am happy that NJ has such a great hospital, where kids with special needs can be comfortable and no one gives you an uncomfortable stare. They also offer swimming, martial arts and social group activities. The waiting list is long to get into any of their activities but parents love each group since the activities are tailored for each child's needs.

Not only that, they adjusted and upgraded the technology on my devices. I hear better and have significantly greater features than I realized were possible for my hearing aids.
