I had endoscopic sinus surgery performed by Dr. Spilman, it went perfectly and recovery was a snap - he is an amazing surgeon. In the past I've had allergy treatment / shots and the allergy office is top notch - great staff and never had a problem getting a shot quickly. Dr. Teng is newer to the Santa Cruz ENT practice, but the few times I've met with him have been pleasant and helpful - plus my wife underwent surgery with him and it exceeded her expectations, both the result, and the recovery. The surgeons here are the best of the best. They will give you direct feedback on what you need, with no frills. If you want a Doctor to tell you what you want to hear, or prescribe you something you think you need, this probably isn't the place for you. However, if you want excellent care, and results that improve your quality of life, I would recommend them without hesitation.

On April 14th I called because the tip of the hearing aid got stuck in my mother's ear. It usually takes 5-10 minutes for them to remove the piece. The hearing aid also needed a minor repair which also normally takes just 5-10 minutes. I called at 9:15 and left a message explaining the issue, but didn't receive a call back. I called again at 10:30 and the receptionist told me she would call us back. By 1:00 we hadn't heard from them so I had to take my mother to Sutter Urgent Care which took two hours. By the end of the day, we still had not heard from SC EN&T Medical Group. The next day, I took the hearing aid into the Water St. location for the repair. While I was trying to explain what needed to be done to one person, the receptionist who I talked to on the phone the previous day interrupted and claimed she tried to call us back. Well, we all know our cell phones provide a list of incoming and outgoing calls and none of the three phone numbers (mine, my sister's, or my mother's) shows a call from SC EN&T and no message was left. This review gets two stars only because the woman who helped me when I dropped off the hearing aid for repair (I think "Molly") was gracious, ready to listen, and it was ready to be picked up within an hour after I dropped it off. I understand the office is busy and people need to wait in line for service, but at the same time, consideration should be given when you know you have a 100 year-old client with a problem that can be fixed in 5-10 minutes. Instead, we had to go to Urgent Care where our mother was potentially exposed to sick people and falling asleep in the waiting room. I also do not appreciate being interrupted while I'm trying to explain a concern. Be respectful.

Justin did the deep ear impressions and explained the whole process to me. I picked out the color I wanted and was told a week later I could pick them up. 2 weeks went by and no call. I stopped in and was told 2-3 more days. A week later I got a call they were ready. Turns out the evacuations from the CZU fires really did a number on them personally, so my experience with delayed delivery of product is probably not typical. They were really COVID safe and followed protocols. There was never anyone else but me in the store when I was there during an appointment. They were friendly over the phone and in person. My one gripe is that the silicon ear plugs I got don't block out that much sound. They fit great but I can still hear the whooshing of traffic outside my window, my husband snoring, etc. It's just a limitation of the product and nothing to do with how they were made or the business practices themselves. Definitely make an appointment to look at all they have to offer! Hearing aids, custom ear inserts for headphones, etc etc. So much good stuff and a great customer experience.

So, living close to DHS, I decided to stop in and inquire about their services. DHS is run by Dr. Michelle an audiologist boasting 37 years experience. I walked in and she was finishing up with a client. Her husband was the receptionist so we chatted while I waited. Very nice man! Anyways, she saw me and I told her I was there to inquire about what services she offered, cleaning, repair, e.g. She asked to see my right hearing aid and took it behind a partition in the same room. She proceeded to work on it hidden out of sight within a few feet. She then frantically started going into the other room and out to her car looking for a "special" cleaning tool. Why wouldn't she carry it with her? She ended up breaking my hearing aid and her excuse was she didn't have her "special " tool which was the size of a pinky nail?!!?! Anyways, she wanted me to leave my hearing aid with her all weekend!?!? I wasn't comfortable with that. Being a Friday, I said I'd come back Monday(Friday & Monday's are the two days she is at this particular office), I returned on Monday and with her "tool" she couldn't fix my hearing aid which worked before she ever laid hands on it. DO NOT USE THIS PERSON FOR YOUR HEARING ISSUES!!!!! She did apologize, but in a world of expensive $$$ hearing aids, an apology is absolutely NOTHING! I had never heard of them. it took him 30 seconds to put them in and I've been able to stop using Restasis for 2 years now. my other opthamoligist pushed the Restasis and never told me there was an alternative. if you don't like them, they are easily removed. dr allaman operated on my sister for cataracts and glaucoma and she couldn't be happier with the results and the care she received. you won't find a better doctor r staff.

Since I've already had cataract surgery in both eyes, I am no longer of use? I am 65 and have not had my eyeglass prescription checked in 2 years, but when I was FINALLY seated (30 minutes late), the technician came at me with dilatating drops. I stopped her because even I know that would happen AFTER checking for a potential new prescription. At this point, I was ushered to another building, to a dirty office to see a nice old doctor, who completed my exam, gave me the new prescription, then led me BACK to Allaman's office, where I had to pay $100 more than expected.
