She found the source of why one of my wife's hearing aids didn't work (needed a replacement for a clogged filter), cleaned and tested both aids; she also checked and cleaned my aids and advised that I needed to have filters for them (original provider never advised me of the need.) So we were able to purchase the filters and batteries there also. And their service charge for our visit was most reasonable. Stan & Ceci S. Roseville

This is a FIVE STAR review that California Hearing Aid Center (CHAC) has earned on a bunch of…read morelevels... Any one of them would have been worth a good review, but taken all together -- simply outstanding... Actually, this would have been a TEN STAR review, but Yelp doesn't go that far... =8-) Will go through the reasons one by one... My wife is extremely hard of hearing... We are retired and the whole idea of the several thousand dollars for hearing aids seemed beyond our means... The insurance company that handles our Medicare Supplemental Coverage added a perk this year: $1,000 toward each hearing aid... Suddenly hearing aids seemed within our reach... CHAC was one of several providers in their network... We contacted a few of those providers but were unimpressed until we reached CHAC... The person on the phone, Brooke, clearly came across as interested in our situation... However busy at the time, she made us feel like we were her only interest... We talked a bit about options and how this would all unfold... Brooke really gave us confidence to go forward with them... Their office is located nearly fifty miles from home... We live in the Sierra Foothills of Amador County, California... Hundred mile round trips did not sound appealing... Brooke cinched the start of the dance by telling us that their hearing specialist comes to our rural community regularly... The round trip was reduced to 1.8 miles... We'll take it... Our first encounter with the specialist, Keith Rios -- who we now know is the owner -- was thorough, professional and instilled tremendous confidence to us... Then he absolutely sealed the deal: He noticed something in the tests he gave my wife that might suggest an underlying medical condition requiring more than just hearing aids... He asked us to get a referral from our family physician to an Ear Nose Throat medical professional to check that out before going forward... He could have closed the deal right then and there for what surely would have been a quite handsome profit, but he was willing to forego that to make sure that hearing aids would be the appropriate solution... That professional integrity alone, was worth the FIVE STARS... The process took a couple months to unfold: getting the GP referral, booking the ENT appointment, going to the ENT professional, getting her diagnosis (false positive on the first tests; hearing aids would be sufficient), forwarding her notes and Rx to CHAC, getting the devices ordered and delivered to CHAC... Today my wife received her hearing aids during one of Keith's visits to our little community... He walked her through the whole process, made sure they worked as planned... All the while he was both the consummate professional and fully compassionate and caring to be sure that my wife was comfortable with her "new" experience... Unexpected side benefit: the particular hearing aids Keith recommended and we ordered include a three year supply of batteries... Considering the frequently short life spans for hearing aid batteries, that works out to something between $450 and $600 of an unanticipated benefit... There's still more... This turns out NOT to be a "fire and forget" situation... We will go back (1.8 mile round trip, remember =8-) once a month for several months for Keith to check that she is becoming comfortable with the hearing aids and to respond to any questions that arise from their use... So, as I write this review, my wife is out in our little garden listening to the birds singing for the first time in years... THANK YOU, Keith, Brooke and the entire California Hearing Aid Center team...

Once they have received the big sum for the hearing aid, they lose interest…read more My mom's appointment was on August 29, 2023, when she received the hearing aid from Keith Rios. After the appointment, I called the California Hearing Aid Center to arrange a follow-up appointment. However, I was informed that they only had schedules available for the following two weeks, and I was advised to call back later in the month. I called back three more times to no avail. I was on a trip to Europe and even called from there to ensure that she would be seen as soon as possible. Unfortunately, no one returned my calls. In the meantime, my mom's hearing aid was malfunctioning, and she urgently needed to be seen by Keith. During the week of September 25th, I made numerous calls until I finally reached someone at the center. They scheduled an appointment for October 24th and mentioned that if I didn't hear back, I should consider the appointment confirmed. Today, on October 5th, I called three times and left messages, but no one returned my calls. Finally, at 3:52 pm, I was able to speak with Karen, who informed me that she couldn't locate my appointment because Keith would be out of the office on October 24. I want to know why this call center is not functioning and why there is no respect for patients concerns nor caregiver time. I am very dissatisfied and frustrated with the call center performance and don't recommend this Hearing Aid Center!

I am most grateful and thankful for the employees at the Folsom Costco Hearing Aid Center. They…read moreare knowledgeable, professional, caring, and definitely dedicated. Chronic childhood ear infections and a benign left ear tumor left me pretty much without hearing. My surgical otolaryngologist back then had said there was little chance of restoring hearing in the ear. Fast forward to current times. My PCP recommended I go to a Costco Hearing Aid Center for a hearing aid evaluation. I admit I was a bit skeptical because I had preconceived thoughts about purchasing hearing aids at Costco. Was not on my radar. She said many of her patients purchase hearing aids at Costco and are very satisfied with the quality, price point, and after purchase support. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, I made that appointment. My Costco technician, Judy, was wonderful. She explained that a complementary hearing test was the first step in the process. During the hearing evaluation, she explained all aspects of the testing. Following completion, she said she felt hearing aid devices would definitely enhance hearing in my left ear as well as right ear. I was doubtful. When she fitted the devices in my ears, I could hear! That was quite the moment. She even had me leave the office and walk around the store. All I can say... what a miracle! Needless to say, I left with a brand new pair of Rexton hearing aids and to date, I am still in awe every morning when I put them in my ears! These are not your parents' hearing aids! There are no changing batteries but rather charging them nightly. So easy. Costco technicians receive no monetary incentive for selling the hearing aids. I feel that is the main message I want to emphasize. Their only goal is to get the client fitted with the best pair of hearing aids possible based upon the client's hearing test. Without any hesitation, I recommend this hearing aid location for your hearing aid needs and follow-up support. I am going on 3 years with my devices and loving every day. The Rexton app is a game changer, too! Sincere thanks to all the hard-working Costco Hearing Aid Center employees for everything they have collectively done for me in my pursuit of better hearing. Shannon, manager/lead technician, runs a smooth and efficient operation. Technician Michael patiently has helped me since Judy's retirement. Rusty and Sue, always behind the counter, assisting with day-to-day customer support! You are all my heroes! Can you hear me now? Yes, I can...loud and clear! Woohoo!

**Custom Ear Plug/Protection Appointment Review**…read more I just had my custom ear protection fitting and wanted to share my exceptional experience. My partner initially had this appointment himself and recommended them to me because of the staff, their service level and location. The building is clean, well decorated, and and in a beautiful location. The staff were extraordinarily kind and attentive throughout the entire process. What impressed me the most was their genuine helpfulness and supportive approach - they took the time to answer all my questions, ensure I was comfortable and gave us great personal attention during our time. Even though my appointment ran over the scheduled time, the staff remained patient and thorough, never making me feel rushed. They truly went above and beyond to ensure everything possible was done during my visit to get the perfect fit, and to ensure I was comfortable. The level of care and professionalism I experienced was outstanding. Thank you for going above and beyond.
