Once again this review is about Teresa in their hearing aid center. This time, she did a complete update to my hearing aid that involved a few very sophisticated, technical tests to fine tune my hearing aids. She spent an entire hour, educating me and running those tests that, in the end, fine-tuned my aids to a level I hadn't thought possible. My issue had to do mostly with difficulty hearing conversation, especially in a restaurant environment. One of the tests involved a computerized process that programmed my aids to better hear within the ranges of sound loss specific to me. Teresa is a knowledgeable, charming audiologist that Costco is fortunate to have on staff.

I made an appointment on March 2 with SW Boise ENT clinic. The doctor recommended the cat scan and said he would call with results. On Wed, the 3rd of March, I was told by staff that they were waiting on prior authorization. I called Blue Cross and was told I didn't need a referral for this supplemental plan. I called Medicare and they said I did not need prior authorization. Thursday, the 5th of March, I was able to get the cat scan. Today is Tuesday, the 10th of March, 5:10 P.M. the message in the portal showed results were in their office on Saturday. Counting Monday and Tuesday as work days, I hoped the doctor would call with results and the next steps to take. No call. No information and now I have no patience left for the doctor and the scheduling staff besides Amy Lee who went out of her way to get me an appointment for the cat scan. My experience has been awful and I will no longer cross the threshold of their business. Lori

Tosha reviewed how important it is to wear hearing aids because it will diminish the exposure to dementia. There was so much helpful information she shared that I didn't receive when I first was issued hearing aids five years ago. I was provided temporary hearing aids which were awesome. I went to Trader Joe's after my appointment with temporary hearing aids. I could hear conversations from the next aisle. It was crazy overload but cool. I think my first hearing aids never worked correctly. When my new hearing aids arrived, I was provided information how to use them in detail. Within days though, my hearing aids would go off and on so I returned to the office. Tosha made some tech adjustments on my cell. FYI, each cell is different so be patient and tinker with it. For those who have cochlear implants: Dr Strickland wants to charge hundreds extra for services…read morethat are billed to insurance with codes that insurance will not cover. This equates to HUNDREDS out of pocket for the patient. My son has cochlear implants and she is the only doctor that will reprogram them for pediatric patients in the treasure valley so her office literally told me "she wants to be paid for her extra training" in this procedure. What I have learned: Even if it is out-of-network, you can have the office contact your insurance for a "network deficiency" form and the insurance company will allow your out-of-network provider be billed as in-network. We went to Luke's by doing that and everything was covered by insurance.
