Took my daughter here for her routine dental cleaning, and boy am I glad I did. Even though we waited over an hour to be seen, it was well worth it. My daughter had an incredibly traumatic experience at the dentist, and had to be sedated for her last visit. This is why I had to be so careful choosing a new dentist for her. Once we were in a room, everything went quickly and smoothly. My daughter started panicking when her cleaning was about to begin, but the hygienist calmly explained what she was doing, and showed her everything she was going to be using. There were a few tears, but after less than 10 seconds, my daughter completely calmed down, and realized all that was happening was a good tooth brushing. The hygienist finished quickly, and came back with a bag of goodies, a balloon, and some stickers. The dentist came in to inform us that everything looked great, and congratulated my daughter for not having any cavities! Another hygienist gave my daughter more stickers, and an award for being cavity free. She also was entered into a monthly prize drawing for being part of the "healthy teeth club." Now my daughter is excited for her next visit, and is no longer afraid. I appreciated the kindness of all the techs and the dentist as well. I'm hoping they work on their wait times though, but otherwise, I had an excellent experience! read more

This place traumatizes children. First my older daughter, she was screaming for being in so much pain, her face was blood shot from her screaming. She told me she felt everything, I felt awful. I changed her to another dentist. I should have learned my lesson but I thought it would be different with my son. Wrong. I will not let my other child experience this type of dental negligence. Also, I learned that they do not have a dental hygienist to clean the kids teeth. They have assistants that brush their teeth, no scraping is done. How is this okay? What a nightmare. There administrative staff are just INCOMPETENT!! Since February, 2025 of this year, I have been trying to get 2 teeth orally removed. I have a HMO and first off they referred me to an Dentist that only takes PPO. I had an abscess on both teethe and I'm in constant pain. So, the referred office lets me know that they only except PPO's and that I needed to go back to my main dentist to have them send me to an office that takes HMO's. I called Healthy Smiles and let them know that I needed to change ortho dentist to an HMO one. They told me okay, no problem. I set the apt with an HMO office that I have been to before and for sure know that they take my insurance. A month later and two days before my Ortho doctors office calls me saying they dont have the referral or the auth # to see me. So, I call my insurance to see if I could get it all changed around to the correct office. They stated I needed to go back into my main office to get a new referral. So, I did. three weeks later. I went in had my teethe reevaluated so, they could send my referral to the ortho doctor. They gave me a referral card. Which I took to the referral doctors office . Set my next apt for over a month. I think all is well. The day before my apt, I get a call from the ortho office that they still had not received my auth# to see me. I then decided I would call my dental insurance company to see what was going on. They told me that my Auth # was no longer valid and that I needed to go back to Healthy Smiles to get reevaluated for another auth#. Mind you this whole time I have an abscess and my two teethe hurts. Now, I'm pretty upset. So, I call Healthy Smiles and complain about all that happened. They had the nerve to tell me that my referral was sent to a totally different office all together. They gave me there number to this different office to call. Healthy Smiles also stated that it was my insurance who decides on where I go on referrals not them. I call this new office to have them check to see if they have my authorization referral. I got hung on. NOT GOING TO LIE. IM LIT right now. Its been months with this abscess. I don't recommend this dentist office at all. I will be switching to a new main dentist. read more

They don't take all the pictures of my kids teeth, they barely even brush their teeth. You can have your appointment scheduled at a certain time but won't be seen till an hour later. Unprofessional in my opinion. Whoever schedules these appointments are doing something wrong clearly. read more

This place is the worst. My daughter had an appointment, we waited an hour and a half to get her seen. This is so unprofessional. The girls at the front desk, are not friendly. The office is super loud with a TV blaring. After we finally got in, they didn't even do a full panel X-ray on my daughter. My husband and I arrived on time to an appointment for our 4 year old daughter, she was scheduled to have a cap put on her front side tooth. The first cap fell off after 5 months. At the appointment, the assistant took x-rays and said my daughter had 2 more teeth that needed caps in the back. This made no sense since two weeks prior she didn't have any cavities from her prior exam. They told us they wanted to give our daughter laughing gas and asked us to leave the room. At that time we asked that they do the cap without the gas since our daughter was very cooperative. They insisted, so we said we needed a few minutes to discuss it. 5 min later the actual dentist, whom we never met until that moment came in and said she will no longer treat our daughter. This was shocking and very disrespectful. We told her we simply had a few concerns and questions and also told them we were not gonna do the 2 new caps they asked us to do just yet. They literally asked us to leave. This place is horrible in many ways. If you research them you will see many horrible reports like this. I wish I knew before going there. Now my daughter has a stump front tooth from the shotty job they did in the first place, and we are in need of a new dentist. read more

Worst experience.... I have 3 y/o son which we had medical insurance .... First visit ever they had him x-rayed without my knowledge because they only had my gf and was upset finding out they did that to my son on his first visit ..... my gf didn't know x-rays are not to be taken at age 3! .... X-rays are done after ages 5-6 years of age .... He has a visible minor cavity which my new dentist said they wouldn't dare to do on a 3 y/o.... We changed dentists because "Healthy Smiles" said they were going to sedate my son and be received on a wheelchair sedating only can be used in a emergency for a bad cavity but can be a danger to a young baby under ages 2 and under and he just turned 3 ... nerve racking APPRECIATION FOR. Thank the assistant that did two x-rays bc the doctor wanted more x-rays from my son teeth .... There was no need for more they two shots of his mouth .... She was pressured but doctor wanted more shots more money ,money! We left healthy smiles my new doctors don't do x-rays for that age and also not sedating for my sons age with a better treatment for my son oh and me and my gf walked in and taught us how to fully brush his teeth with a great technique that they showed me and had the time to my my son expertise more pleasing...... read more

I recently took my 18 month old and 3 year old for their first time dental appointment. After learning it was both their first time, the hygienists were so friendly and put them both at ease. I honestly came expecting both my boys to be screaming bloody murder the whole time. My younger son especially is very hesitant of doctors from past experiences. Not a tear was shed, only happy and cooperative kids who had felt comfortable as soon as they walked in. They were both given X-rays and cleanings. They were given a balloon and stickers as soon as they came into the office, then a TV was on the ceiling playing their favorite show and that sealed the deal. Four different people came in to see my son and only one used his name. When I asked for a dental cleaning the woman was surprised but willing. I thought that would be standard! That fourth person second guessed the dentist's diagnosis but the main doctor was on the phone and couldn't see us. The dentist barely looked in his mouth even though he's a super chill kid who likes tooth brushing and follows directions. He has bad decay and cavities and sometimes screams with tooth pain for 2 days straight. Flosding and Motrin help. They just scheduled us a 30 min appt 2 months out for xrays! I wish I could afford to go anywhere else. The walls are a cold blue with no decorations. The office seemed over booked and chaotic. I didn't have my questions answered either. read more

I have no idea how this place has good reviews on Google. I know for a fact that they traumatize children when doing dental work. They do not allow parents in the room and tie up the kids to the table/chair. Whatever it is. They force the kids to endure all the dental work alone while crying for their lives! My son needed a lot of dental work done and I was naive enough to let them do it, naive enough to leave them alone with him. He was brought out to me after over an hour with his face extremely swollen from crying so hard. It even had a rash from all the crying with the laughing gas mask they use to try to "calm him". It's all so traumatic for the kids! They forced my son to get X-rays before they started, something I was not told was going to happen. He had been restrained during this and gagged so much. To this day he cannot even see any of the X-ray tools because of how traumatic that was. He's the one that had to tell us what he went through, which was hard because he was only 2 years old. This place is horrible for children. They need to evaluate their patient care procedures for small kids we entrust them with. I don't recommend this place AT ALL. My son is extremely traumatized and scarred from his experience with them and we still have to deal with the aftermath of it consistently. read more

I am very upset with this dentist office. We took our four year old daughter here to have caps placed and two teeth removed. She just got caps placed in January and we have made sure she doesn't eat anything sticky or too hard and TWO caps have come off. This is ridiculous and I am very upset we will be having to take our daughter to another dentist and put her through something that should of been done right the first time. I have been bringing my family here for 3 year's now, being that we are a family of 10, I am here often, more than I would like to be, I have never had a bad experience office staff is friendly, and Dr. Parti is a great doctor. My kid's love her. However today was not all that great, yes we usually experience a wait time, but never like today, we had a 10:00 appointment it is now 11:45 and still haven't seen the doctor, none of the staff has checked on us or even explained the wait time. It would be nice to explain that they are over booked or running behind. Give the patient the option of rescheduling or at least an estimate of how much longer it would be, I'm not a complainer but today this office was very unorganized, I would have walked out by now but I don't want to go through the waiting process all over again. read more

STAT FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! We took our daughter here to get her teeth looked at. We paid our co-pay at the time of the visit and the rest was billed to our insurance. What they recommend as treatment for our daughter was torture and would of traumatized her for life. So we took her somewhere else and they were incredible. Months went by without hearing anything. They had our phone number, address, and email. All of a sudden we got a call from them demanding payment right on the spot or we would be sent to collections. We asked to see the bill and said we wouldn't just give our credit card info over the phone to some random number that called us. They emailed us the bill and said we had 5 days to pay or they would in fact send us to collections. A clear violation of law for a bill we were just receiving. The bill showed we owed money because our insurance was denied. So naturally I wanted to sort it out with the insurance. Couple days later they called again demanding immediate with credit card over the phone or we would be sent to collections. Clearly they have no business being a dentist for kids and have no clue when it come to legal requirements when billing people and sending them to collections. On top of that they are rude and try to bully you into paying. So unprofessional. So glad we went somewhere else. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. I'm actually on the verge of suing this clinic. My daughter will forever be traumatized by this chop-shop. Please do not take your children there. I sought out a dentist who could provide sedation while my daughter had two extractions. This clinic promised she would be sedated and wouldn't remember. Five minutes after they gave her the liquid they took her back and immediately yanked two of her teeth. They called me within 12 minutes and told me she was done not even enough time for the sedation or Novocain to fully work. She was wheeled out in a wheelchair screaming that she remembered everything and that she felt everything. She told me they tried to give her nitrous which she cannot have due to a genetic abnormality. I was explicit about this in the intake appointment and reminded them during prep. Luckily (I guess) she was conscious enough (due to the absolute lack of sedation) that she advocated for herself and said she couldn't have it. She also told me that the person who did the extractions was not the dentist and that she was strapped down to the chair so hard that she couldn't breathe. They ripped out one of the teeth and when she screamed they told her she needed to "shut up." Please please please do not take your children there. There are other dentists that take low income insurance. This dentist is exploiting the fact that low income folx are often not listened to and dismissed. read more

I asked them a few times if she was able to feel anything when she get put under the anesthesia, and they lied and said no. I only went there because some relatives said they were good. Hardly understood my dentist so I just agreed to whatever they said we needed to do. Started a root canal then had to wait a week in pain to take antibiotics with a temporary in. What they first said would be included in the insurance I ended up having to pay almost $200 out-of-pocket, which was unplanned, and being a student, it's not like I have money to throw around. Not to mention one of the RDA's acted like a know-it-all and seemed almost impatient whenever I brought up questions. Hopefully I can get back with Adept Dental Group for future dental work. read more

I want my money back. Dr. Takes three seconds to tell me that I I have a ton of cavities without looking at my xrays. I ask questions and he tells me that well his eyes are better than some xray and walks out. Now I totally question the cavities they told me my son had but didn't get to be in the room to see. RDA gives me some stories that I can't have even a cleaning done without taking antibiotics before because almost 10 years ago I had back surgery and it it to "PREVENT INFEFECTION"???? WTF???? Awful. I went in and the customer service, a lady I dealt with in particular wasn't the warmest. The rest were alright, waited 30 minutes for an appointment I had at 2 and wasn't seen until 2:30ish. When I was seen by the orthodontist, she proceeded to tell me my teeth were "fine" and all I needed were retainers. My teeth are not fine and she seemed in a rush and not willing to listen to what I wanted done to my own mouth. So I proceeded to look up another orthodontist that did exactly what I wanted to get me the smile I want without me saying a word to him. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I agree with the earlier statement The RUDEST and most UNPROFESSIONAL place I have been in Bakersfield. First they told me I needed a root canal. They quoted me $1200 for the root canal. The day I went in for the root canal I was lucky enough to overhear someone talking about the crown. When I asked about it I was told, "Oh yes, the Crown is $1200 more...do you want that?" Do I want that!?!? NO, I just want the giant hole in my mouth. So the total was $2400. I went somewhere else where the same procedure was $1200 Then they told my wife her dentures would be done in 30 days. 2 months later (and my wife has lost 15lbs from having no teeth and being unable to eat anything but cottage cheese) and FOUR impressions later they told us it would be another month and a half at least. When we questioned the time frame an unbelievably rude "supervisor" blamed us for not being smart enough to understand the dental work. THESE PEOPLE ARE AWFUL. STAY AWAY! read more
