Really appreciate the quality of bites at the Healthy planet cafe here. Had the butternut squashed sweet potato soup which was warmly spiced and just luscious. Also had the Tuna Crunch sandwich which was very large an hearty and lovely. Yes they are a little pricier, yes they are slower to fulfil orders at times, but quality is great and they have lots of cold and hot options for a quick casual bite. read more

purchased Alderwood Farms Pasture -Raised Eggs - free range hens raised on small Ontario farms These eggs were expensive - 12 extra-large brown eggs were disgusting - the whites were all gelatinous, gross - I pulled out that glob of goop - got through eating 1/2 of those eggs and threw the rest in the food bin - YUK read more

I visited the store on Sunday, during a long weekend. Before my visit, I checked the opening hours online, and every website that listed the Islington Health Store listed different hours. So I called the store, and their automated system told me the current opening hours. After a long drive, I arrived to find the store closed. There was a small note on the door stating they would be closing early for Easter. My question is: why didn't the store manager bother to include this information in a voicemail or on the website? Why are they so disrespectful to their customers and so negligent in their work? read more

Best selection in healthy products, staff is always willing to help and are knowledgeable. The store is clean, well maintained. They always have what I need and online service is excellent as well. I am now in Canada and will recommend the store to anyone especially looking for good quality produce and healthy options. read more

Awful customer service. I tried to return something at a store for $15, not a big purchase, and they denied it. They said I have to call customer service first to get authorization. The fact that I emailed customer service but they didn't answer me and to this day still haven't is my problem. The floor manager Melissa was rude at Bathurst ant Sheppard location. After the incident my husband and I agreed we would never buy anything else from them. read more

The negative reviews here are certainly not from the store I visited today, which just opened in March. I had not been to the smaller previous location but certainly can recommend this one. Formerly a large hardware store, there is a huge variety of items which are organic, vegan, etc. - whatever you want.. ( I have never seen so many varieties of gluten-free bread) - and even a little café! They carry interesting brands of cheese, coffee, etc., etc., etc. which are probably difficult to find anywhere else. Huge, pleasant, well laid-out - finding it near my neighbourhood was the highlight of my day! And courteous, helpful personnel. read more

Never been and now I will never go! Someone I know was just fired after 2 weeks for no reason by email. Seems to me that Healthy Planet is biased of older people and didn't fully explain all of the duties expected of employees in their initial job posting. Can't see this company being successful when they treat new hires in this fashion. read more

Rude would be an understatement. I was threatened both physically and with the police, by a Russian/Ukranian woman, who likely is the store manager. After blowing me off rudely claiming the store did not carry either product I was looking for, she returned to gossiping with her coworkers. I located the products on the shelf directly in front of where she stood, and picked them up and showed them to her. This woman got two inches from my face, literally, as if to instigate a physical fight, and told me I needed to leave the store. I told her I purchasing the products in my hands, and shr immediately began dialing the police. I attempted to contact the company via phone anf email and was ignored read more

I have been meaning to drop by this place for a couple of years, was finally able to last night just before closing. This store is beautiful! Many great products, huge vegan selection, the prices on some items are lower than I expected! My favourite vegan protein powder was $9 less than the lowest sale price I've ever seen on Amazon.ca , score!! The staff are really friendly, personable and fast, which was refreshing. I'll be back to browse some weekend at a lot slower pace :) read more

I come to this location frequently and the staff is very helpful the cashier I had today however seemed miserable (Saturday July 8th 2023 1:30pm young woman curly brown shoulder length hair) didnt smile and her energy and aura was negative no personality didnt make any customer service effort. Leave your personal problems at home you dont get paid to spread your attitude to paying customers. read more

Rude staff , have no interest in what they carry and no interest in helping. They would rather gossip amognst each other than bother searching for a product that they carry but don't know where it is in the store. Never going back read more

I think I'm going to buck the bad review trend here as I've been shopping here more often as of a recent focus on healthier eating and my experiences have all be very positive. A few years ago my wife and I tried to be ambitious and go healthy hard core and bough our entire weekly groceries here. We felt great about the decision, high-fiving our soon to be healthy meal plan filled with things like maca powder, chia seeds, rice malt syrup, vitamins, organic vegan eats and enough supplements to get Steve-o jacked like Rocky Balboa. Then the cashier gave us the $390+ total and we slowly pulled back our high five, handed over our credit card and argued about who made more silly purchases. It's your vegan protein powder that did it.... no no no, that's nothing compared to the 15 grains you bought. So unless you're making Raptors player JV money, maybe not the best place to do an entire grocery shop. That said, I've been following a rather strict meal plan the last few weeks, cooking 5 meals a day at home and some of the ingredients were "niche" to say the least. It I knew Healthy Planet would have them, and they did. I think the smartest way to augment your healthy eating routine is buy the wallet busters like protein, produce etc from your regular store and come here for the specialty items to accent and augment your shop. There's a few comments about staff being in knowledgeable but I'd politely disagree with that. Every time I have visited this location I skip the search and ask a staff member about where I can find this or that and ask them for an explanation on what it is and the benefits - and if I really need rice malt syrup or if pure maple syrup is fine. Anytime the staff either have the answer, ask a colleague to weigh in OR just this weekend the gal actually went and googled the info so she would know and so I felt comfortable with my purchase. I'd say that's an A+ in customer service in my books. Just smile and be polite and I think you'll receive the same in kind. Only docking a star for their produce and overall higher price point BUT it's a specialty shop and you knew that walking in folks. read more

Excellent service. Very knowledgeable salesman helped me to get exactly what I need and get rid of many useless things I was going to take instead. I hope I feel better soon. Definitely will recommend this place!!! read more

Visited Healthy Planet this afternoon to stock up on my vitamins. loved that a lot of them were on sale & received a coupon for an extra $5.00 off if you spend $50.00. Lots of great vitamins and minerals here! I was in desperate need of beta carotene, my immune system is shot right now! I ended up buying that, plus fancy mushroom capsules, which are also great for the immune system, according to staff. They are expensive but definitely worth it, assuming they work! Parking lot can be a bit of a challenge, but that's ok! read more

Great. I've never had a bad experience here. The staff who helped me were always kind and knowledgeable and recommend products I end up really liking (hair products, moisturizers, etc.). Heathy planet prices in general are more affordable than other health food stores, and this location is larger/ has more selection than the Mississauga branch so I'll usually travel a bit farther to shop here instead. read more

If it weren't for lack of accurate pricing, I would give this place 5 stars. It's huge, the staff are always friendly and the selection of products is fantastic (even love the skincare!), but I just get so frustrated looking for price tags, and/or finding out at the register that half of my selections are ringing up at different prices. I am new to the neighbourhood and will continue to shop here and I'm looking forward to seeing what their summer stock is like. Produce maybe? Anyway, this place has an amazing selection and the variety of products available can't be beat. You can purchase everything from herbal supplements, to pantry supplies (even the stuff you don't think you'll find ANYWHERE), to organic dairy and everything in between. I would just like to leave a note to the person in charge of pricing: HI! I hear that Omegas and B vitamins are good for concentration, try some out! read more

I have been coming here for over 2 years. Initially customer service-staff were rude. I spoke to manager. Things got a little better. Then recently I met an extremely rude cashier. I reported her to the nutritionist last week. Unfortunately I had her again today. She remains rude, condescending and arrogant. I called her on it today, and then she was condescending and sarcastic. If I come back to Healthy Planet on Islington, I will not allow her to check me out! She needs to be dealt with read more

Get some staff that are kind and pleasant please. Horrific treatment today ... I really will stop coming here

I like Healthy Planet. Really, I do. I shop at this location and the Mississauga location as we live right between. They stock an abundance of natural and organic products that I can't often find elsewhere. However, I can say that I will not be returning to this location anymore. I've been here a total of five times and although the store is much bigger than the Mississauga store and the staff are just as friendly, they have serious organizational issues. Every time I have been here I come across empty shelves that appear to rarely be restocked and most of the items I look for don't even have prices on them. I am not going to go and ask every single time I need a price for something, I'm just not going to buy it. The Mississauga location is much better stocked and everything (or almost everything) is priced. read more

After glimpsing through the other reviews, I can't say I was too surprised. I've had some crappy experiences there too - Buying yogurt only to take it home and realize it had been expired for over a week, having them scan an item twice (and I paid for it twice) and having to wait weeks for some of my favorite items... I have stuck by Healthy Planet because they are so close to home and the prices are actually quite reasonable for organic/local/natural foods. I've had no bad experiences over the last few months and I think they've come a long way. If you were ever disappointed in the past, I recommend giving it another shot. read more

I wouldn't not recommend this place... I wouldn't know that my first experience would go as bad experience... Honestly this is the worst shopping experience I ever had in my life... I bought a Julian bakery Paleo thin cracker... After going home I opened the pack and smelt a strong rancid smell.... Next day I went to the same store with receipt and actually showed them how bad it smelt... One of the cashier after smelling it checked the expiry date( which is actually good enough) and started arguing with me saying that it has flax seed and it packed in plastic so I might get the smell it is okay to eat we cannot refund it and after a while she went back with the pack to check with manager or whoever and came with the answer "it is good it still has expiry date so we cannot exchange... "It is not about money they are running a health store and this kind of approach to a customer is really not tolerable. They might have good stuff but... Please be careful while shopping there read more

Islington location great place to shop. Shoped at this location for years. Staff are very knowledgeable and we'll trained. Today I walked I looking for Turmaric. I am sick want some to help me with a cold. Couldn't fine what I was looking for. I asked an associate if there was any in Stock. He was polite and said he would look in the back. I waited for 10 minutes, he didn't come back. I looked around the corner he was talking to associate. Spoke to the Manger. He apologized. He asked I found what I was looking for. I said, no. I went to the compitition down the street. Paid 2 dollars more, but I didn't have to wait. read more

I was in the store today looking for a new product, sprouted oats, and Irene was super patient and helpful with my request. I would highly recommend them! Before speaking to Irene two other staff attempted to help me and together they really helped make my day. I'd been looking for this product in Sobey's for a while now. Super stoked about the oats! read more

Basically, this place is a variety store. The shelves are always empty. There is always 1 item of what you're looking for. The staff has NO idea what's going on and their even rude about it. Personally, I believe staff members should be knowledgeable when working in a health food store and everyone is clueless here - with the exception of a really nice Indian woman. I even noticed an older lady (who works there) snacking from the bulk bins one time and never purchased from bulk again. This place is a joke and can not compete with stores like The Big Carrot. read more

BUYER BEWARE! I really want to like this store, but.... everything in the store appears to be priced incorrectly on the shelf. What looks like a good deal on the shelf does not carry over at the cash register, for example, an item priced at $39.99 on the shelf rang in at $59.99 at the register. Simple error right? No, the pricing mismatch happened with all three (3) products we were going to purchase. Three different products we selected rang in at a higher price at the cashier. The employees were less-than-helpful and didn't seem to think this was an issue. This is incredibly deceitful and good enough reason for us to take our business elsewhere. read more

I'm not entirely pleased with the deceptive marketing practices of this particular store. The store manager did not want to leave the back room to discuss an issue that I had with a product that I bought from his store but instead sent his employee to pass on a msg to me. Nor was I overly thrilled with the cheekiness of the store manager. Here's a tip. Don't make excuses for your products when you know deep down that your product is flawed. And secondarily don't talk to your customers as if they are stupid. Pretty insulting. By the way manager, where did you learn your customer service skills from? It used to be my store to shop at for healthy products, but guess what?! I will find another health food store in my neighborhood. read more

The staff are less than personable, the manager lacks the ability to engage in basic conversation with customers and their inventory is sporadic at best. You would be better to shop at a certain well know store in Bloor West Village. It's a farther drive but you don't have to deal with a terrible store experience. read more

"RIP OFF- The price on the shelf is cheaper but when you go to cash out the price is higher when they ring up your items on their the cash register. They also added $10.00 dollars to my bill in which I never purchased anything. read more

This place is at a convenient location for me and has a large selection and variety of health supplements. These are the reasons why I'll return. However I hope to find another store that offers the same without the absolutely rude and unhelpful and incompetent employees!! Ive been buying products at healthy planet for the last year. During a recent trip i paid for my order with my credit card. After i entered my pin and the terminal said ok the cashier proceeded to tell me that the terminal froze and to repeat the process even though i told her the terminal's message. Prior to leaving The manager arrived and told me to check my credit card statement and they would issue a refund for the duplicate charge provided i bring back my register tape. Within the week i returned with the receipt and a copy of my credit card statement showing the duplicate charge. The cashier had to verify giving the credit back to me with the manager. I waited 20 minutes until they agreed to credit my account. If this happens to you make sure you check your statement. Be aware you could be paying twice for the same purchase. read more

I regularly shop at this location as it is one of the only locations close to south etobicoke with a large selection of health products. I have had great customer service there with very helpful staff recommending great products or offering help to find things in the store.
