Since then I have had classes with other instructors, but I haven't liked any of them quite as much as I like working with Emilee. She is a great trainer, watching every move, changing exercises to suit your needs and moods. Some days she pushes you hard enough to be sore the next day, others are more focused on working the really deep core. You never get too much into a routine--always pushing different muscles in different ways. I discovered just how effective Emilee was at crafting bodies when I found myself in a contest at a pub--who could hold the stein of beer at arms length the longest. I assumed I would be hopeless. I was as surprised as any when I outlasted all these big muscular dudes! I'd built core and back muscles to balance and support my arms. Huh! I had done over a year of physical therapy which resulted in temporary relief. I heard about Rita and her work and figured I had nothing to lose and a lot to gain. She fit me in the same day and did an evaluation. She showed me pictures of my back and spine alignment and explained why my range of motion in my shoulder was limited. (It had been diagnosed as a frozen shoulder.) My alignment was clearly off and impacting my limbs. I did 8 sessions over a 4-6 week period. We worked with yoga straps and blocks and the ball and I learned exercises to help improve my posture. I feel better as a result than I've felt in 18 months and have a new awareness how my alignment affects the rest of my body. She encourages her clients to come to sessions with something that they are working through and want to gain clarity on. By the end of each of my sessions, I have felt lighter and more inspired when re-entering the world. Her sessions are 90 minutes long. She spends the first third of the session talking about what the client would like to focus on for that session, then a Reiki session is done for 30 minutes. The last third of the session is dedicated to reflecting on the Reiki. The reflection sessions have been super enlightening to me, and I always leave in disbelief on how aligned her insights have been based on what I felt during the Reiki session. I'm excited to continue going back to Claire and plan to incorporate her Reiki Healing practices in my life going forward.
