For shoulder issues, 1 pre surgery and 1 post surgery. Both times I improved. Scheduling was easy. I never had to wait in a lobby. And the icing on the cake... I informed them I was moving out of town at the completion of my therapy (dec22). In February, I received a hand written card wishing me well for my move and to stop in and say goodbye if I had the chance. Without going into details, I found Advance Physical Therapy to be a very poor choice for PT for us. 1) Don't be fooled you will pay to see a PT but we were pawn you off to techs. 2) We were left alone without any supervision to do exercises 3) I had a PT many years ago asked me if you lift 5 lbs every day for a year, how much can you lift after the year? The answer is 5 lbs. We had to request for change so we could progress. I wish we had seen how this place truly operated before we committed our rehab here. Instead, I found a 'PT factory' environment where the therapist was juggling 5 to 10 other patients at the exact same time. For three weeks, I was never given the individualized manual attention my condition requires. I spent most of my time performing generic exercises while the therapist rotated through a crowded room. This 'gym' approach is inadequate for patients with specific, high-priority recovery needs. I have since moved my care to a provider that offers private, one-on-one sessions with a true specialist. If you need dedicated, hands-on therapy, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This facility seems more focused on patient volume than patient outcomes."

I went to the Woodhaven branch for the past eight weeks for a shoulder injury and have been amazed at how fast they were able to restore my arm so I had full range of movement. I had started physical therapy last fall at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) in Detroit and quit after 2 1/2 months with little improvement. The PA in my doctors office recommended Performax and said that this is where she sends her family and now I know why. They are very attentive to your needs and give you helpful advise on doing the exercises correctly and providing home exercises. Ed was my physical therapist and he was great! I also worked with Christa a couple times and I would highly recommend her also. I would be remiss in not mentioning they have wonderful aides that stay right with you through the whole process and make sure you're okay and doing everything correctly, Michelle is the best! An added bonus is that they let you use their facilities for a month after you're finished so you can continue progressing, which I've started taking advantage of this week. If you are in need of physical therapy then you won't be disappointed in them. I drove out of my way to go here and I'm glad I did!

I have went here for two different rounds of therapy - the first time was for 2 different problems…read morewhich meant 2 different types of therapy ( physical & water therapy) and the second time was just physical therapy for a different issue than the first round was for. I LOVE THIS FACILITY!!! Not only do they 100% achieve the best outcome possible, they are very professional but very caring and take the time to help you in any way they can. I also found the atmosphere very calm and friendly - I recommend that if you need therapy this is the place to go! I will never go to another place again!
